Out for a few markets, based on the build number alone I would say just a bump to the January security update.
Downloading now (233,4MB for customized DE)
Edit: Can confirm, it's security update 1.1.2018
Device feels a lot snapier (like scrolling etc.).
Didn't find anything new.
Can't see any difference except security updates from 1.1.2018.
BTW guys, do you use notifications "priorities" in drop-down notifications panel?
Since the start of using XZ1c I have put my monitoring app to low priority so the app's notification bar was very slim in the notifications panel.
I've done hard reset now when updating the phone and I can't see such feature any more. Did they move it somewhere or it's gone?
I'm not talking about configuring audio/vibrations - this feature it's there for apps created for Oreo - I'm talking about customizing notification bar size in drop-down notifications panel.

Try to long press mini button in notification panel, al appear a new hidden menu, should be what you are looking for
Anyone who got this update using Linux and would like to give USB-Tethering a try? I'm stuck on an old version (47.1.A.5.51) and on this one, USB tethering download speeds are terrible (lots of RX packet errors, <1Mbps download speed). This was also an issue with some OnePlus phones which was fixed with a software update, so I'm hopeful that Sony will also fix it (although seeing how the smart lock blank screen bug is still there, my hopes aren't very high)

This enables/disables UI Calibrator (addidtional submenu in System menu) but there are no options regarding notifications.
What I'm talking about is shown below. Earlier I was able to assign chosen apps (for example System Panel monitoring tool) to low priority notifications, in picture below these are Clipper+, Network Monitor and USB charging device. "Android System 2 apps are using battery" is a normal priority notification here:

This is getting really depressing; those of us using USA firmware are being treated as second-class citizens. We're still on 47.1.A.2.234 with the August 2017 security patch.
Hm I didn't get an OTA as well and I'm on the North Columbian build (I think).
Don't want to reflash everything just because of a security patch.

I went looking for a manual firmware update for the g8141 on the US version and don't see it. that sucks! I would suggest you consider flashing to CE1, not only will it enable your fingerprint scanner it's updated more frequently.

There's a workaround for that. In Security, go to Trusted Agents and turn off smart lock, then reboot and turn it back on and the problem is solved.

Is "CE1" an official stock firmware? I haven't done any firmware flashing since the days of Symbian; could you perhaps point me to a "Sony firmware flashing 101" tutorial that you would recommend? I want to make sure that I do it correctly. Thanks.

Customized DE and GEL seem to get updates even faster than CE1 from what I've seen. CE1 is still on 8.49 as of writing this, but DE and GEL are on 12.34. I'm currently running Customized UK and thinking of switching to one of those since I'm impatient.

Any other feedback on the new firmware? Still not availabe here in the UK.
What's the battery life like?

Wow, that's a pretty substantial update. Can bootloader be unlocked now?
Edit, just read the other thread, great news, it seems unlocking is now allowed!

I have no doubt we will get nougat. Keep in mind that the GS7 & 7 Edge don't have Nougat released yet. Also it seems maybe the Camera is improved abit with the update. Really a solid phone for $299, loving it.

I am very excited to hear all of these. Mine is coming tomorrow.
I've watched LeEco Le 2 can survive water test for at least a minute (maybe similar protection [IP53] that Pixel phone offers) so that will be a bonus from this awesome phone.
is x720 compatible with this update or should i wait some more?

Widgets crashing on restart
Has anyone else noticed certain widgets crashing/not starting on reboot? I've noticed two particular widgets not starting on reboot:
1) Battery Widget Pro
2) Dark Sky
Netflix WAS added. Sucks that you can't uninstall, just disable, but the bigger point is let US decide what we do and don't want, not you Leeco.

Hope they can add a double tap to wake in the future update!

The main differences are in the multitasking view and about the toggles style, if you have any specific question I'm always around here to answer
PS: Probably we'll need a rollback package in order to be able to downgrade from this version, I won't even try with a standard firmware

How customisable is the navigation bar?
One of the things I miss most (coming from cm13) is the ability to put a constant menu button on the lower right hand corner. Yes yes it's the same function of a button in most apps but that button is on the upper left corner of the screen (usually) while my thumb is usually on the lower right corner.

Thaaaanks! I have been waiting for this since August
Hi I just installed this rom but had to uninstall it: The screen never goes off, after pressing the power button it goes off but a second after it shows a black screen with the time on it, it's not the lockscreen, the lockscreeen appears afterwards....
Another thing I noticed is the lack of "xiaomi options" like the ones in Havoc Os or Syberia OS. The system UI is not very smooth but the apps are really snappy. It's a shame because this rom had signature spoofing working and the others I mentioned have it but it doesn't work
Thanks, downloading now..

Please don't be rude, in trying to find some information, i was polite.
Ambient display doesn't behave like that per se, ok? the screen staying on on this rom I think it's a bug and not only a matter of turning an option off, that's why I asked. do you understand it now? Ambient display doesn't leave your screen on ALL the time like it happens in this rom, do you understand it now?
Is it daily driver material? Battery backup and smoothness?

it's not clear whether the problem with the screen on
all the time is just a matter of turning ambient display off. I wouldn't install it until it's confirmed. There's a new build today, perhaps some bugs have been fixed. The system UI is not smooth. Sensors work out of the box and signature spoofing works. I didn't test anything else.
I'll disable ambient display default on next weekly !!
Hi there, I have been using this rom for a couple of days. I've noticed that some of the system settings don't stay after a reboot, you have to reapply them. At least it happens with the sim card settings, not sure about every single one of the others. Sound settings seem to stay as they were after a reboot.
I can't find an option to have the fingerprint sensor to wake up device like in other roms, perhaps this rom doesn't have this feature. Also I had to install a third party app to swap recents and back buttons. I couldn't find an option for this either.
The battery life seems good, similar or perhaps better than lineage 14.1.
Signature Spoofing works and the sensors work out of the box.
I can say it's good for a daily usage. I haven't found a reason to uninstall it
I have trouble with the gps lock times but this happens in every rom I try, nougat or pie... quite annoying. Maybe I should edit the gps.conf file
Thanks to the developer

For device parts settings it's here on next weekly.
Thanks for the new features in the last update
- fingerprint wakes device, swap buttons option, phone more responsive, etc...
I manage to fix the gps, it was a problem with microg, I installed more backends for location and it only takes 2 seconds for the first fix..
This is the only pie rom that has everything working out of the box.
Great!
Seems december security updates are getting out in EU.
Yup, I have just updated (Czechia).
Does it fix the flashlight bug and slow charging issues?
Does it do anything to solve the horrible fingerprint issue from the November update?

Your version is different mate.
These are SL3 versions.
Don't worry, you'll receive it in next update or you might've already received it in previous updates.
It differs verison/area wise !
Cheers !
thank you

See mate, changing the firmware by Odin doesn't technically stop your updates.
But the device has region specific utilities such as network bands, signal reception, etc.
So changing it might cause a trouble but you can always revert back to your original firmware if you take a backup before proceeding.
But if I was you, I wouldn't hurry, it's not like out of the world feature. I would rather wait a month or so, atleast till I get Android 10.
As an android update generally gets all the features, irrespective of the previous regional utilities.
Always backup before proceeding, anyways.
Hope that guides you, cheers !

The December feature update seems to be out in Russia (SER), so probably other devices in Europe will follow.
It's actually already January one, Samsung new years surprise.
Edit: Smart capture is here, no screen recorder. They finally fixed black text with Night mode when editing a VPN connection. Sms app has quick icons now next to text field, also adds Quick responses (configurable in Settings). Weather app has a Map and Videos inside. Didn't find anything else.

Updating right now in the Netherlands.
I hope the camera has really improved, because that's the only factor that still makes me want an S-series phone.
Update v3.18 just dropped via ota, up from v3.12. Happy updating!
Mind sharing the changelog? Thanks!

Yes I noticed this. I'm comparing if there's a difference now lol
What problems were noticed on v4.12?

To me
Afterparty launchers didn’t carry some gestures from the original launcher (swipe apps and accidental touch)
Some mistakes in some translations and some margins in some buttons
Kill all apps button in the show all apps screen didn’t work properly
Audio problems with some dongle dacs (though don’t think it will be addressed)
Security patch from November (i mean… not a biggie but still its nice to be updated)
Notifications not showing up from time to time
Don’t know if anyone else experienced this but sometimes the brightness “flickers” or dims up and down in low light condition, don’t know if anyone else addressed that
That’s all i remember as of now
Security Patch is January 1, 2023
Performance seems fine so far. Didn't have any issues before.

The brightness flicker is really annoying in the morning/evening when it's really noticeable... hopefully that's been fixed
I think they will fix something with the update since they pulled it out yesterday and hasn't been available as of yet

So what do you think is the phone better after the update?
The full install package fixed a ton of things for me, including sound drivers, issue with dts, some colors in the notification menu and the screen brightness problem at night

v3.18 has added cronic trojans to my phone with whatsapp.net tracking amazon-adsystem app.adjust.net.in moatads.com piano.io applovin.com
this is a phone that has been setup stock, monitored cronicly since it has been turned on and had mx player installed to show off its amoled screen
can someone point me to where i can reflash v3.12 global? this is not cool .this occured first restart after the update, i cannot replicate after a normal restart, severity seems to be low
FIX: boot into recovery press wipe data. press optimize upgrade data
Wtf? This was 3.18 ota update?
