I purchased a XA1 Plus since I needed an upgrade (so-05d from docomo) which I rooted way back then. I though I would try to root my new XA1 Plus since I like the flexibility and access of root, I got up to the point of unlocking the bootloader but I can't for the life of me find a proper guide / how to root my XA1 Plus.
Thus, I would (if possible) to relock the bootloader on my phone so I can get system updates and remove that annoying message at start of every boot.
The method I used was straight from Sony
https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
Just flash a stock FTF from Xperifirm using Flashtool then relock it after the flash is completed.
Hi - Can you please share the steps on how did you root xperia XA1 plus model ? I want to root my phone.

Well It looks as if I Cant remove unnecessary apps on my Arc without rooting.
But here is something i wanted to ask before I go ahead with doing That
Q1) Is it necessary to Unlock My Boot Loader for Rooting or Rooting can occur without Unlocking it aswell?
I mean that I have read rooting without unlocking it but will it be the same locked or unlocked?
Q2)Unlocking My Boot loader means a 100% surety that my warranty will be Nulled right? (I Live in India, Rules don't differ here or in UK does it?)
Q3) If I have Rooted and NOT Unlocked my Boot Loader, Can I still update my Phone software through SE PC Companion? And Is my Warranty Still Safe?
Because I read that ICS will be available for Arc in the first quarter next year so I want to update my phone using SE PCC and NOT by flashing even though I know the pro's of flashing
Thank You so Much!

1. No you dont have to unlock BL to root your arc search for doomlords easy rooting toolkit
2. As far as I know yes
3. Yes you can still update with SE PC companion but I think updating via PC companion removes root. And your waranty is safe
You can use zegrush to root without unlocking bootloader. I live in India too. U can still update after rooting but not after unlocking. Rules apply everywhere.
Xperia Arc (rooted)
Thank you sooooo Much!!!
One more question
@Tatit1011- in reply to ur question 1, are dere any pros/cons of rooting after unlocking BL and. Rooting without unlocking it??

If you unlock your bootloader you CAN: flash custom roms, kernels(for overclock), and generally anything.
You CAN'T: upgrade via se, either pc or ota via the phone. Plus drm is lost, as is your warranty, but you can re-lock it
Generally, if all you want to do is remove system apps and use apps like titanium backup, root explorer etc then just root. If you want to try custom roms(there's only one you can flash over stock kernel, I think) then unlock the bootloader.

Yea, but I have this OTA update that came to the phone recently and it has not been able to install via the OS. I am guess one of those three is blocking the update from installing. Can't sell the phone like that!

first get ftf file for 10.1.A.1.434 frome here there are three different version I don't know you are c6502 c6503 c6506 choose one you are
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=2094
then you can use flashtool flash over and you will get newest firmware
if you don't know how to use flashtool seach google it is very simple
So I just got an Xperia M because I wanted a super-small device with 1 GB RAM and Sony firmware and community support (in a way, my Xperia Ray is the best smartphone I've ever had!). Turns out it's sim unlocked but bootlocker locked - it's a Bell Mobility device. I expected it to be fully unlocked so I was all excited and ready to flash 5.1 and mess around with mods. If I understand correctly, anything that requires flashing a new kernel (*.img file) is a no-go. So, I think I can get away with some 4.4 ROMs on the 4.3 kernel? What are your recommendations? Any crazy way to force unlock the BL? (there was a testpoint method on 2011 Xperias)...
I've looked in the forums and it's not really clear to me which ROMs are OK for locked bootloaders (LBL). I've seen one thread labeled LB, but I'm used to other forums where many threads are labeled LBL/UBL. It's OK if you need to moderate this question out (although I believe it might be helpful to newcomers), but can someone please answer it first or point me in the right direction?
As far as I know, you can only root it with TowelRoot (or Flashtool). Then you can tweak it with Xposed.
If your bl is unlockable, then you can unlock it via official method (google: how to unlock sony bootloader).
Hi everyone,
Is there root available without unlocking bootloader? I've searched within "Sony Cross-Device General" and found iovyroot ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/iovyroot-temp-root-tool-t3349597 ) However it is dated and looks like a Lollipop OS temp root solution.
Great phone, but I have a feeling I'm going to be stuck like the LG G5 without root
PS. the XA1 Ultra I have is from Freedom Mobile in Canada - G3223
Afaik, not yet. I've been looking and waiting for a lb root solution as well. I wasn't even able to find a windows driver for my model so I had to modify the hardware info to make the one of the others install. Adb now works for me so I'm trying to get a ta backup before unlocking the bl to root.

Unfortunately, TA backup requires temp root as well. We had Dirtycow solution for XA Ultra, but we don't know about XA1 Ultra.
Moreover, we have to figure out how to restore TA after bootloader unlock (and root)
Dear XDA Community,
I have an Xperia M C1905 and I have checked the service info menu and it shows "Rooting Status: Bootloader unlock allowed:Yes" so I can unlock bootloader but I have heard that unlocking bootloader can cause the phone to bootloop. So I want to know how to unlock the bootloader, root this phone and add a custom recovery. I don't know whether I should take a TA Partition backup or not. I do own an xperia SP which I have but it is broken so the Xperia M C1905 will have to be used for the time being. Can someone from the forum show me the right links for unlocking bootloader, root, custom recovery. A set of instructions to follow since looking at the forum I got no idea which guide to follow for this phone.
Currently this phone requires the bootloader to be unlocked without causing a bootloop to happen.
It is currently running android 4.3 stock - Build Number: 15.4.A.1.9
I'm a noob at this since the last time I unlocked bootloader and added custom rom to the xperia SP was like 4 years ago.
Thread closed on OP's request.
Regards
Vatsal.
