For some reason my face unlock data keeps disappearing. Anyone know what may be causing it? This is the second time I've had to add my face data again.
Edit: I've tried formatting, resetting, etc. Just wondering if anyone else is having this issue.
Reset the device
Go to the bootloader and factory reset.
Disclaimer: you will lose all your data.
I've tried that already. I'm currently using the stock rom with simplegx and magisk.
It happened to me this morning. As soon as I turned on my device, face unlock was not working anymore and I found it had deleted my face data. Having my 5T for the last 2 days. Hope it won't happen again.
How frequent did it happen to you? Are you on 4.7.6?
Its happening to me too. I have my 5T for one week now and I already re-scanned 3 times. Don't know what's causing it. If I find a correlated setting or tweak (Magisk, Xposed, Amplify,...) I'll post it here. Are you guys rooted?

Hey guys. After rooting it, I messed up with xposed and my phone started rebooting. It was usable, but whenever I would open any audio file, it would reboot. So I tried wiping my data in recovery and now I can't leave the starting setup! It always reboots when I'm digiting my wifi password. Does anyone know how to fix this? Got my phone yesterday.
Update: Got it past the starting setup, and can use it. but it's still rebooting all the time.
Figured the problem was with the asus keyboard. Backed up my swiftkey and it works just fine. but still can't hear any music and who knows what else

Be aware that there are xposed modules that either don't work or could cause issues. If I was you I'd stop all the modules, see if it has the problem on reboot and if it doesn't, try them one at a time.
If that doesn't work you might need to do a factory reset to undo the bad thing you did...

Yep. I knew about the modules. I was just dumb lol. All modules are off. Also already did a factory reset but it didn't work. It's not rebooting anymore, since um using SwiftKey, but I just don't have any sound. And it's like the sound can't be processed. When opening a song on poweramp it keeps going to other tracks until I close it, and the other players just get stuck. All the system sounds are also not working.
Just found out the calls work. Only in the loudspeaker though. Funny
flash stock ROM over and I don't see how that could not solve all your problems.

Just did it and it solved everything. Thank you!
Hi,
Not too sure if anybody else has had this problem. Every day morning, when I try to use my phone first time in the day, the phone app does not open. It opens and closes within half a second. It has been happening daily. A reboot fixes the issue for the moment.
However, need to check if anybody else has been facing this issue.
I am running stock 3.2.6.
To resolve the issue, I have tried hard reset, flashing stock OS, flashing 3.1.2 and then flashing the incremental OTAs, almost everything I have tried.
Looks like the issue has not been resolved at all. Tried switching off the doze mode as well. Not helping.
Anybody has any guidance/solution to this problem?

Make a clean install of the full 3.2.6 ie after wiping system, data and cache/Dalvic. Do not install the earlier version/s and update via OTA or flash the OTA.
Maybe you have some app that is conflicting with your phone app.

Seems like the issue was due to a specific app. U sure though.. I uninstalled a set of apps which I had installed before the issue started. Currently looks like it has been resolved.
Same thing is happening for me in 3.2.8 no matter what ... That too only in morning as Mr.Deepak said please help .. I have tried re-flashing ROM etc ... What could be the issue?
@deepakmasthi can u please let me know how did your issue get solved.. as I'm facing the same problem as u.. Please help
As the title says, phone has randomly rebooted
... twice in the last few minutes, both times I had picture in picture going while sending a text...has anyone else experienced this? Also, the boot time is amazingly fast at least!

Did you do a wipe when you flashed or just update? If you just did an update, I would try to reinstall and let it wipe the device.
Yup. I'm experiencing this as well. Happened to me twice yesterday. Maybe try a factory reset?

Having the same issue did a complete factory install with the stock image.
Then rooted not sure if that is causing my issues but, is anyone else stock not rooted having random reboots?
I've had 3 reboots since jumping on Oreo. Did my update the clean way through a factory reset and flashing a factory image. Stock, unrooted.

Stock, updated via ota... Having 5 to 6 reboots per hour. Google is sending a replacement phone.
Maybe you have to do a factory reset.
Reason why i havent upgraded. Still on a rock solid nougat until google fix all this problems. Maybe 8.1 or so. Seem like reboot is a common problem with the pixel,. All thread about orea theres someone talking about his reboot problem in many different sites.

That sounds much like a hardware failure... :crying:
I had random reboots too coming from DP4 to FInal. No more random reboots since I flashed the factory images
Is 8.0 the version that is the start of the new OS updating system? I wonder if the partitioning is getting all screwed up? I think I'll stay on 7.1.2 for a bit longer till this gets ironed out.

Just don't download the OTA till they send out a patch. That's what I'm doing.

when i first updated to oreo and rooted it, i ran into the rebooting issues some of you are experiencing. i think the root of my issue was busybox. i did a clean install of oreo again the other day and rooted, but didnt put busybox on the phone. phone ran fine for a day, so i tried giving busybox another go. the reboot issues came back. hope this helps
Mine only reboots randomly if I have YouTube picture in picture enabled once I disabled it I haven't had any reboots maybe try to disable that
Just did the update a couple hours ago and so far so good. Picture in picture works too. Stock, GPE on VZW, no root or anything.

Guys, anyone still getting random on persistent reboots on Oreo with Pixel (XL)? I'm doing my second factory reset atm and monitoring these two threads on buganiser - 1, 2. Basically people started getting reboots after upgrading to Oreo and one notable common thing is: 'Sense Key : Hardware Error [current]' which Google reps assigned to the threads read as hardware issue (probably with Toshiba's memory chips being prone to overflow/overload (?)). They haven't answered my question why is it only happening on Oreo though. I REALLY don't want to go through the warranty process again only to get a device with the same problem as I still believe it can be fixed in 8.1. Is there anyone who had similar issues that got fixed with the 8.1 Beta? Cheers!
I'm experiencing the random reboots too.
Oct. 8.0, Magisk, Root
I almost missed an alarm due to this, so I think I may go back to Nougat. Not only does it reboot, but it gets stuck in the boot screen. If I hold Power and reboot, it comes up though.
Anyone have issues with their nextbit Robin randomly rebooting?? I'm on stock 7.1.1 and it reboots on me multiple times a day... Tried a hard reset and clearing Android cache nothing helps!! Even did a factory reset and the problem is still there... It's totally random not app specific I'm not sure what to do...... Thanks for the help!!

I'm not doubting you, but are you actually seeing it reboot? I had another phone do the same thing on Nougat, but it was only "acting" like it was rebooting. I would put it down and after 10 minutes it would say I have to enter my pin after a reboot. I haven't experienced it on the Robin (yet), but the only fixes I found that work were a full wipe & reinstall then installing one piece of software at a time from my Google Library or installing a custom ROM.

I'm going to definitely try unlocking the bootloader and a reflash maybe even try a different image . Yes it is most definitely rebooting, seems if memory get full having to many apps open it reboots, I've had it reboot multiple times when I was actually using it, during Google maps, chrome and even Facebook.. I've even tried deleting certain apps but it still reboots randomly....
Bumping this, because we have one doing this now. It's been fine up until probably a couple weeks ago. Seems to be under moderate use. Wife's phone. I've seen it happen, too. It locked up, wouldn't respond to any input, then it did a full reboot. She says it happens at least once a day.
Using LOS 14.1.
This could be due to battery degradation.
Happened to me too. Stock rom. Reboots 3-4 times a day. Now all of a sudden it got stuck in an endless reboot cycle. I posted about that in another thread
Now mine is doing it, too. If it was the battery shouldn't it show with the discharge rate? They can show a full charge and still do it. Can even do it while charging. Mine just now did it while charging. Didn't get hot either. Just locked up and rebooted.
EDIT: Apparently this was a result of using the wrong setting for enabling hotspot in PropsConfig. Because all that stuff was set during bootup, deleting apps wouldn't change the situation. Setting worked fine on my Pixel XL, but not here. Changed the setting and all is well.

So, this is a weird issue I was curious about and may have missed on my searching. Every time I reboot the phone, when I got to log in it immediately follows up with a soft reboot. It's been happening for a while, and I'm not sure the source of the issue.
Running stock 12 ROM and rooted, but I disabled SU, modules, and Nova and am still running into the issue.
Might be quicker and easier to back up your required files and just factory reset.

I know, it's just that it sounds like you've already disabled some things that could be causing it, which hasn't helped. If it was me, with something like constant reboots, I'd want to start fresh just to make sure they are eliminated for good

I've seen reports of "random" (=not intentional) reboots after
+ booting up the phone
+ using the FP scanner
+ making videos or shooting photo
+ doing a firmware update (I've seen both reports of ppl that "officially" OTAed & used manual flashing)
+ doing nothing
+ doing something
Some were able to fix their issues by factory resetting, some needed replacement devices. Some reported that even after a factory reset, the issue still persisted, but they were able to fix it by NOT using a backup via cable, some reported that even the Google Drive backup "corrupted" their phone (fix after setting up everything by hand from scratch). Some even reported their issues to get fixed via a software update.
So it seems to be connected to hardware (= replacement device) and/or software simultaneously (=fix via reset).
Strange this is since there are also numerous reports of Samsung owners that upgraded to A12 about random reboots. So it might even be something Android 12 related, or it's just Samsung also implementing similar bugs without it being A12 related (unlikely, since the reports seem to be centered around people using the new A12 update).
I also had the random reboot problem (~ 6 times a day, when doing nothing, it just rebooted when the phone layed on the table in idle). I wasn't able to fix it via a reset, so I got a replacement device.
I also have the "random" reboot problem on my Pixel 3 since upgrading to Android 12 (never had any issues all the years I've been using that phone), so that issue is clearly caused by A12, but I haven't troubleshot it/ tried to solve it, since I don't actively use the phone currently.
Aside from trying a factory reset and minding the backup issue (especially backups that you got from phones that did NOT have Android 12), there is not much more that you can do (ofc you could also use the Pixel repair/android flash tool to do a "clean" install of Android on your phone). Next step would be to contact Google.
