Hello, I grabbed some Flyme 6 ROM for the Swift from AFH. Flashing in TWRP gives a message 'Failed to mount dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/userdata at data" but flash ends successfully. Booting up sticks at boot animation. What could be the problem?

I finally flashed a non Sense ROM onto my dev edition M8, and now I can't even touch /data. I got the enter password to decrypt storage bug while using Paranoid Android, so I followed the steps here to get back to a working system, but the ROM never booted to the password screen. It froze on the boot animation, the went in a loop, I tried to wipe data through recovery, the screen went blank after a few seconds, and then tried to boot the system again. I can't get it to wipe via fastboot either as I get a "FAILED (remote: not allowed)" when trying erasing and formatting data/userdata. I also can't delete anything from /data in recovery. Does anyone have a fix for this? Flashing other ROMs also suddenly quit and go back to trying to boot the system.
Edit: Flashing a stock recovery to wipe /data fixed it. Why didn't I think about that sooner?
After installing TWRP and booting to my rom when I try to reboot to recovery again I get this message:
invalid boot image size
failed to validate recovery image
I'm using TWRP 64 bit
This thread is quite old (around 2 years old). But nevertheless, I am sharing my experience so that it may help someone facing similar problem. I have a Moto G 1st Gen Falcon which was running Lineage OS 14.1 based on Android 7.1.2. I was planning to update it to Android 10 based Unofficial Lineage OS. I downloaded latest TWRP zip to update existing TWRP. I rebooted into TWRP and flashed the zip. It installed perfectly. Then to check it attempted to reboot into recovery. But it instead went to fastboot mode with the error "Invalid boot image size! failed to validate recovery image Boot failed". I tried botting into recovery but was not working. I tried flashing through adb a different file but it was not working. Then what worked was booting into recovery using the command Fastboot boot recovery recovery.img. After that I was able to flash Android 10 and now everything is working perfectly.
Hello there. When i'm rebooting my phone into system, it's vibrating 2 times and model name appears (This loop always continuing). I can access to download mode and recovery mode. I tried installing stock rom via Odin it didn't install, loop continued. I installed CWM 6.0.5.1 but when i format factory reset, system or data it says completed successfully but when i enter into internal storage i can see (my pictures etc.) recovery didn't delete. Also when i'm trying to install custom rom (LineageOS 16) it gives (Status : 7 Error "no file_contexts target" ).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am running TWRP v2.8.1.0 and I've tried on this phone already years ago to fix this issue but to no avail but i'm back and trying to tackle it once again.
If I try to wipe I get the error message "unable to mount /data", "unable to mount /cache", "unable to mount /system" and then a "failed."
If I try to Install anything I get similar messages
If I try to flash a new recovery via fastboot I get the message "Writing 'recovery' FAILED <remote: 'image update error'>
It's like i'm completely locked out and unable to boot into the OS also for whatever reason (CyanogenMod) last thing I remember possibly doing to cause this was flashing a new CyanogenMod at the time years ago and then I turned it off, turned it back on and nothing would work anymore i'd just be stuck on the CM Loading boot screen.
Phone is HTC One M8 with **TAMPERED** and **UNLOCKED** + S-ON.
Thanks for any help!
Bump! Please Help!
Now the phone is unable to boot to system, I have no idea what I could do to fix it as there is no way to use adb or fastboot command…
I remember that the stock rom version is S11a, it have some problems when I tried to root it, and failed to flash recovery even I've got the root permission (response "write error: no space left")
------↑solved by using LG flashtool↑------
Now I am facing the problem that unable to install TWRP recovery using dd, it responds “ write error: No space left on device” I’ve reinstall the LG drivers, reboot the phone, reboot the computer, unroot and root again, but the problem still occurs.
----- update ------
solved by using flashify, and TWRP version 3.3.1 instead of latest 3.6.1, so that it won’t have “secure boot error” warning, and boot to recovery successfully.
But there is a new problem now, when I tried to sideload MindTheGapps after installed LOS 18.1 successfully, it warns me “could not mount /mnt/system! Aborting”. This is the third phone that having this warning for me, and I still couldn’t figure out which step goes wrong.
Nothing goes wrong after flashed to lineage recovery, installed MindTheGapps now.
--update--
I also tried to flash lineage recovery from TWRP on my D855, it also works, I installed MindTheGapps and everything works fine. So this is the problem of TWRP? Or reinstall the recovery is the solution? Maybe I would have a test later.
