Uhm network service disabled, occurs randomly like one minute the network is fine the next it has a little X showing up without network bars then it searches for the network then network bars appear but in reality the network registers me as offline so I have to restart the phone in order for my data connection and other cellular services to work i.e text, calls, ussd

I have no idea if you are in LG ROM or what, so Download "network mode" in play store
Enable mobile radio. Or choose right band

in the philippines, and ofcourse i know that. The carrier is not a problem because its supported. the problem is the phone settings, the f240k model has an option on the settings to choose between cdma/lte or just cdma. but this one hte f240L doesnt have that.

I'm having the same problem with Three UK, no 4G. Although 4G worked on my Lumia 1020 with the same SIM a few days ago.
If I go into the hidden menu under LTE you can set it to use LTE and it connects to 4G brefiely then goes back to 3G and it never shows GSM/ WCDMA / LTE auto in the mobile networks menu, just GSm / WCDMA auto.
I noticed on the demo unit in a Three store that the phones software version was V10a-EUR-XX whereas mine is V10g-HKG-XX.

if you have root you can try deleting (or renaming) LTE Config.apk from /system/app

Is there anything that can be done without root? I've tried setting the LTE in the hidden services menu and it connects foe a few seconds and then goes back to HSDPA. If seeting to LTE only it stays on LTE but not sure how it will work if I leave 4G coverage? I've also enabled fast dormancy but that doesn't seem to help.
There was a discussion about this in the UK thread, some phones came with 4G deactivated (on the 800MHz band used by 3 and Vodafone) that had to be activated at every boot. Replacing it fixed the problem as its not supposed to happen. But since the phone is from Asia who knows. Im not sure if flashing the eur version of the rom would work?

fast dormancy is a network dependant setting that has nothing to do with the generation of signal you are receiving.
The only other option you have is to try and flash another firmware version.

LTE will work from the hidden menu, or download 4G switcher from the Play store which will take you to the menu also. Just change it to LTE/GSM/WCDMA and it will work on the 4G network (at least on 3 UK). LG UK support will not help as it came from HK. I still want to know if I can flash a Euro 32GB ROM to my phone to get it working natively.
make sure u have activate your LTE with your carrier,i you have done it,and still didnt have LTE, try the hidden menu,or try 4G switch frm playstore, rooting and deleting lteconfig from system/app would be your last option (i prefer this)

my lte/3g/2g settings was everytime reset to 2g/3g modus when i got back to settings. i deleted lte config.apk and the .odex file, rebooted and BAM! it keeps on lte/3g/2g
Solved
I had the same issue (no LTE option in Networks configuration menu), until today: My phone installed firmware V10i-HKG-XX, and now I have the "GSM/WCDMA/LTE auto" option in Preferred Network Mode.
Cheers

Do the following -
1. From the dailer, type in 3845#*855#
2. Select LTE Only
3. Modem Setting
4. RAT Selection
5. GSM/WCDMA/LTE Auto
You should now receive 4G but everytime you reboot, you have to repeat this procedure
Hi i have just purchased the z1 compact second hand from ebay and i cannot find any setting forLTE in mobile networks i can only select wcdma only/gsm only/ and wcdma prefred. My sim card is on the UK 3 network and previously was working on LTE.

What about SERVICE menu?
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* and go to Service Info>Configuration. You should get something like the first attachment.
Also, You can check under *#*#4636#*#* and then check the set preferred network type like attachment 2.
fixed Lte

I was recently in Korea for work, so I picked up the G4 to bring back to the US. I bought it from SK Telecom, they told me phone should work globally. Now being back in the US, i popped in my Verizon Sim card and no mobile network is available. Phone is reading my sim and has the correct APNs, but still no connection. Does anyone know how to access the service menu to change bands?

I figured, but does anyone know how to access the hidden menu to view all the bands available?
5457#*500#
That should do however I can't access the main hidden menu to disable the throttling.
Thanks for the info 3rd degree.
I tried that on my H815 G4 but it didn't work (invalid code).
I also tried 5457#*815# but that didn't work either.
Unfortunately the 3845#*modelnumber# that always worked previously doesn't now. eg 3845#*815# just gives the invalid code error.
*Edit* the answer is in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/how-to-enter-g4-hidden-menu-t3122373
the code that works for me is 277634#*#
