Thank you for this. I was wondering how I could get rid of that fricking notification. I was essentially having two notifications constantly telling me that my Pebble is connected. Not needed.

Tap your phone icon, as in making a call,, then tap the 3 dots up by the search,, then settings,,then voivemail,, then notifications,,slide to off

I was wondering if anyone can elaborate on enabling the peeking feature for notifications on 6.0 update?..as far as I can tell it's enabled for all my apps, yet I'm not receiving any notification at top of screen from any app. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated
I've never heard of such a feature. What do you mean?
Part of the 6.0 update was peeking notification. U can access it through, settings, apps, then select the notification settings for each app...it's like toast notification. If you Google it or check lg update page it details this feature as part of update, but it's not working for me

I have Zenfone 2 with a custom Cyanogen Mod 13 installed. I have been trying to disable the installed app notification that pops up on the bottom screen. It’s probably not an issue for most, since I really couldn't get anything on Google to disable this annoying notification. For me I find it very intrusive when something pops up and covers information on my screen. Just like heads up notification I want it gone. Is there a way to disable this? Or an App like Headsoff that works? I have NotificationsOff app installed but it doesn't seems to disable the damn thing. Any ideas on disabling this notification would be greatly appreciate it.

Previously my phone would show notifications on the top of my screen for about two seconds before disappearing when I got a new notification. My phone crashed and some settings were messed up (like my phone signed out of snapchat for some reason). Now I dont get alerted in this way when I get notifications. How do I fix this?
P.S I have Android 7.0 if that helps
Just started using Oreo, and have found something annoying and hoping I'm just missing a setting or something.
In Messages (and every other app so far) I have the option to Alert and Pop-up, or just alert without the pop up notification.
When I choose to just alert, I expect the notification Drop down to still show content. However, it's hidden unless I choose to notify with pop-up. I can't find a middle ground.
Checked security settings, and the only thing related is to hide content on the lock screen.
Anyone have any thoughts or advice on this?

Apologies if this has been addressed elsewhere. I have just got the note 10 plus 5g. Since getting this I cannot get the whatsapp notification in my status bar. I can get sound, vibration, edge lighting and peeking message. If I miss these then I have no way of knowing I have a message until I open the app. Why can I not get the icon in the status bar where all my other apps notifications show up? Any help would be appreciated. The phone is now on android 10 and pop ups are no longer an option. Not that I want them anyway. Thanks
check notifications in Settings, you might have blocked notifications for WhatsApp by mistake

SOLVED:
In the whatsapp settings which had transferred from my previous phone, the led light notification was set to white. With the note 10 plus not having an led light this was clearly causing some issue. On changing the led light setting to none, the notification now shows on the status bar and badge count.
