I received alot of pm's and emails in the past 72 hours regarding issues with the roms I released, issues that to me all sounded like there was confusion on using heimdall.
So I decided to eliminate any future confusion by creating a video of using heimdall and flashing one of my roms.
Though I use Linux, I feel it doesn't matter when it comes down to the basics of using the Program.
I cant help troubleshoot problems with Windows users, Mac, or even Linux as there are far to many variations of systems out there, even if you have the exact same computer i do, that doesn't mean you might have the same software, or might not be up to date, or you might have updates i don't have.
So for the sake of general understanding of using Heimdall, here is a video i made, posted on You Tube, and there for life...
Oh, please pardon the horrible audio, I think it was my headset. You can understand me, however i sound.....horrible.
Also, expect a few more walkthroughs from me, or even updating this specific one as well. I actually love creating work-flows, so once i get a better mic setup, maybe I will just start pumping out some Guides.

thanks man, your video really helped. im literally new to the tab scene.
thank you, this video help me a lot.
Thanks for the guide.BUT i cant get the older versins of Heimdall to run on my computer. I know for some reason you decided to use an old version, but I dont remember why. Because of this, I havent been able to flash your rom. I recognize how you use that old gui as thats how you had to do it in the early dev days, but the new one is lacking . any tips?

I wrote up how to use the new GUI in Heimdall 1.3 over here. It's confusing to figure out at first but easy once you do.

You can still download 1.1 from the creators website.
I use 1.1 for one very good reason.
I can flash what I want. I can flash just the kernel, or recovery, or just reflash a borked filesystem, I have experimented and done thing most devs would cringe over, its a straight forward no bs app that didn't need a makeover.
However, all versions are still out for grabs.

so i saw in your video that you are flashing the recovery when you install your rom. is there a way to get back to stock recovery if we need to take back into sprint for repair?
thank you soooo much man. i tried everything until this. it's soooo much easier than anything else. thank you it works.
i lov it and everything seems to work. is there anyway to change the way the screens switch instead of that fold out look
Thank you!
Hi friends. Long time lurker here.
I've had many Samsung phones and many other android devices, but this is my first brick.
I had flashed the rooted SM-T217s rom, and the wifi wasn't working, so I tried to reflash it, at which point everything went wonky. I searched the forums and found some threads on bricked 217s's, but nothing specific to my situation.
The tablet went to the emergency firmware update screen, and I haven't been able to get Kies to even recognize it. I try to Odin back to the latest stock (B8) but it fails at 'Get PIT for mapping.' My google-fu tells me this is not a good thing.
Am I hosed here? What else can I try?
Thanks XDA, you're my only hope.

Good news, I guess. I was able to flash TWRP recovery and the stock rooted rom from another computer, but now Wifi is borked and there's no network connection. HALP.

Okay well I fixed it.
Turns out, the problem was that I was using Odin on a VM on my Mac. I had tried to use a PC, but I think the USB controller was too old, so that failed too. I had to use Heimdall to flash each of the partitions from the B8 zip manually. It worked, and I'm back in business, though not rooted. I suppose I'll wait until there's a better way to root before I try it again.

same here, I have the rom, but hesitated on the firmware, waiting to see if someone gets the wifi working, not to many developers here for this tablet.

Ok guys. Heres my deal with this TAB. Ive rooted... Unrooted. wipe wipe wipe wippty wipe . WiFi not working. Fixed it with NB8. So here now I sit with:
----NB8 Wifi works---
----TWRP-----
Yup, pathetic i know. I cant even get the supersu to flash. TWRP wont move it over to flash off external sd card. Im not hip to abd plus i heard you leave yourself wide opento visitors when using that.
Ive eye hustled a thread on here that some friends are getting back together to rock it on a custom rom so my fingers are crossed. This tab is so neglected i mayjust go get the 210r. But i really dont want to. So my question is....
Can someone please give me links to files that work with the NB8 stock firmware. Some of the links are outdated after sprint uploaded the new bootloader. We are a small community on this tab so lets stick together on this. I dont think cynogen isgoing to do anything for it. As they concentrate on thier new phone which looks pretty sweet by the way. K im done. Going to wait for help and play with this htc one s
thats been collecting dust.

Hi all.
Couple things.
1. I'm a noob here and to tweaking anything Android.
2. From all the forums I read you're all a lot smarter than I am.
-------------------
Issue: I bought a Samsung S6 (Sprint SMg920P) in June. Got it wet in July, not a lot but enough for Sprint to send me on my way to deal with it on my own.
I did let it dry out and it's worked fine all the way until about a week ago. I'm not even sure the water is really related to the issue. However, The phone began to boot loop and would not come out.
Recovery mode would only display the initial splash screen then freeze, and has never been accessible.
Download mode IS accessible.
I've downloaded ODIN.
I've tried downloading some files; G920P_SPR_G920PVPU3BOI1-G920PSPT3BOI1_Original, G920PVPU2BOF7_G920PSPT2BOF7_SPR and ran them per some tutorials, but that didn't help.
Again, I'm new and don't know if those files are even right. (ignorance is bliss I suppose - unless you want to accomplish something)
I'm hoping someone can spoon feed me the knowledge here based on your experiences.
What files should I be downloading (links(?)) and do you have any tip/tricks on resolution?
I appreciate any help here as I've had to downgrade to a Moto Photon from 2011 and it's absolutely excruciating to use.
Thanks yall!

Sounds to me like you might have an unfixable problem. Is the water damage noticeable, that Sprint won't touch? If not, take it to another and don't volunteer that information. If they are able to detect water damage and won't touch, you are kind of SOL. Make an insurance claim if you have it or try Samsung.
This is where to get the latest firmware for your device. The download is very slow. Some guys on here have uploaded for a faster DL. Look around or just wait on one of these.
Flash one of these with odin, if it doesn't work, you likely will have to replace.

Thanks todivefor! I'll give that a shot and if unsuccessful follow up with Samsung next. Appreciate the reply.
Faster Download
https://www.androidfilehost.com/user/?w=settings-dev-files&flid=40967
The two latest TAR files for Odin.
I would use OJ7 as it is newer and if you have taken an update, you would need that one. (You can always use a later TAR, but not revert back to an earlier.)
Use an MD5 checker (like this one for Windows: http://www.winmd5.com/) to make sure that your download is complete. Every file has an MD5, check that it matches what appears on the Android File Host page.
Best of luck.

I don't know if this is the right group
I tried posting and it said not enough points etc
I apologize please move if not correct
I have a s4 m919 t-mobile I rooted it using cf autoflash works great now trying to install trwp when I install using odin comes right back to stock. I look to use lineage. Any idea on how to do all of this. Thank you
Reason I want to do this having issues with twitter mostly and Facebook live videos.
I also notice I am running the latest 4.4.4
However there is a new update t-mobile pulled but still listed on there site. It's also available on several Samsung websites. Should I upgrade to the pulled rom or ?
Any ideas
Thank you
To install twrp: open Odin, uncheck everything except f reset time, flash twrp, remove the USB cable from the phone when you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove the battery, replace the battery, boot into recovery using the button combination.
Thank you I
Thank you I got it working
Thank you for the help I have lineage installed. Wow so fast. How ever when trying to root it I get a error says binary occupied. If I uninstall I get no root available. How do I install root ? Thank you so much

Which baseband version did you have before flashing LineageOS?? I flashed LineageOS and now the SIM card isn't getting detected including a handful of sensors too. It would really help me if you could say which baseband version you had used.
Thanks in advance
I have a samsung galaxy s6 with boost mobile and one day after a update I was watching YouTube then it started rebooting over and over. Since then I have looked everywhere online and downloaded firmware but it's only 1 .md5 file and have spent hours upon hours looking for a free download that is 4 files because all the guides I've found say there should be 4 files.
I found a thread on this forum that said using samfirm would produce 4 files yet when I downloaded I received 1 file yet again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated because I have exhausted all other options.
why you need 4 files firmware !! Flash with the stock rom first and tell us what happen.
Oh I'm sorry, I thought I had mentioned that I tried flashing with the stock rom file in the original post. When I flashed the rom using odin it said that is was successful but when the phone finished downloading it went to the blue android update screen and said it was updating. However when it reached 32% it stopped saying updating and started saying erasing.
Then the phone proceeded to rebooting showing the Samsung Galaxy S6 logo, then the Samsung Logo, then the Boost mobile logo where it always gets to and just continues rebooting.
Can someone possibly provide a link to a stock rom for my samsung galaxy s6 32gb boost mobile(model number: SM-G920PZKASPR) and I could try a different one but I believe that I found the right one already.
Again sorry for not clarifying in OP.
I am having the same issue with my boost mobile s6 but having trouble finding a good compatible odin tool link and also a link for the stock unmodded firmware. can someone please provide a link for good odin tool that will for boostmobile s6 and just the stock unmodded fairly recent firmware for the boost mobile s6 please?

I'm having the same problem with my Boost Mobile Galaxy S6! I have looked everywhere on here and cannot find the stock firmware and I already received the Nougat update
. I'm really a noob at this. I did learn a lot from reading through some of the threads . I have rooted my phone a few months back and was quite happy with it. Here's my variation of this scenario. I have undoubtedly ticked the OEM unlock by accident or a grandkid has been messing around with my phone and now it's stuck in booting with Custom Binary blocked by FRP Lock in red on the top of the screen. Here's my problem. I live in Panama City FL. and my town looks like a war zone with a stable internet connection not being promised until the end of the year sometime since we were just hit by Hurricane Michael HARD! I have pos free prepaid phone with internet but no hotspot, and a laptop with no internet. I have already downloaded Odin 3.13.1 and after trying for 3 hours with apparently the incorrect firmware (?) So any help would be greatly appreciated!
I Had the same problem...
I was locked out of my S6 for 10 months after un-ticking the "Allow OEM Bootloader Unlocking" setting (can someone figure out a way to lock this setting when using a custom ROM?) I don't think there's anything that instantly leaves you saying "WTF WAS I THINKING?" over & over again, while searching for the best way to fix it!
Most of my problems fixing this were due to driver issues in Win 7, wrong Odin version & lack of experience using it, Did I mention that I find the S6 in general, to be a royal pain in the A$$?
My S6 is an SM-G920P from Sprint, I needed to avoid data loss, so I followed this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s6/help/custom-binary-blocked-frp-lock-how-t3581010
It still didn't work, but it put me on the right track as far as the file renaming & saving my data. I just had to use Odin 3.10.7, the newer versions didn't work for me, neither did 3.10.6. I also had to install Samsung USB Driver 1.5.55.0, also read another guide that I cant find right now, it was more detailed as to how to tell if Odin & the drivers are working properly. If you need further detail search for FRP lock G920P that's how I found the info that got mine working.

Thanks. I still might see about doing a hands on Ballistic SG Max test with it and upgrade to something a little newer with a removable SD card and a replacable battery.
