No matter what account i try to add it always force closes. I restored a nandroid backup and then issue started to appear. What can I do? I wiped cache and art cache and stuff. I don't want to wipe the whole data is there any other solution?
It also force closes when I try to search from the google search bar.

So I flashed the latest CM7 nightly on Sunday, installed from zip. Since then some of my apps have been force closing. Some are google apps like maps, and voice which I need day to day, others like facebook twitter, multiple browsers and engadget. I tried clearing cache, and battery stats as I use different batteries, and fixing permissions. Since then I have flashed CM7 RC 1 and two different MIUI builds, and have had the same problems with those. I haven't installed from titanium backup, just from the market. Any help would be greatly appreciated. EDIT: Now even XDA is force closing
I randomly started experiencing a similar problem recently with CM7 RC1... a lot of my apps were randomly force closing including the android core process...
Just now, I decided to wipe and reflash... now I'm having a new issue - the phone is not recognizing the radio.. it says "Baseband version: Unknown"
I can't activate the phone because the second I hit SEND, android.process.acore force closes.
Anyone have any insight?
EDIT: Just wiped and flashed CM7 Nightly build #8 - NO RADIO ISSUES OR FORCE CLOSES SO FAR
I am having similar issues. I am running CM 6.1.0, ClockworkMod 3.0.0.5, and radio 2.15.00.07.28.
I think just about every process has forced close at some point. Frequent offenders are messaging, youtube, and google framework.
Which caches and/or application data should I try clearing?
I am thinking of upgrading to CM7 RC1 but if the corrupted data remains cached will these problems follow me?
Did you wipe dalvik cache? Or possibly try different kernal.
It's back to working at %100 today after flashing CM7 which made my home button not work, then a sense rom.
I have an update on force closes as it pertains to my installation of CM7.
We need to follow the instructions accordingly. What I mean is we need to wipe everything that is suggested in the thread introducing the new ROM.
I couldn't load the new ROM from ROM manager. That is when all the force closes kept happening.
We must go into recovery and format the system, cache, and data from the Mounts and Storage Menu. Then, wipe Dalvik cache, battery stats, cache partition, and data/factory reset. Then install the new .zip from the root of your SD card (Both ROM and Gapps).
This is what worked for me. I have had no force closes since doing things this way.
Also, restore data only from Titanium Backup; else apps revert back to the previous ROM settings.
This may not be exactly the way things are intended by the wonderful developers here but it is what I have found to work.

I read on cyanogen mod forums (thread here: http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/15898-app-force-close-on-cm7-rc1/ )
And it was noted that its a known issue, and that re-installing the app worked, or running fix_permissions in terminal.
I installed fresh CM7 RC1, installed a few apps from market, ran fix_permissions and no force closes so far. Might try out the nightly
Does anyone else has been finding recently that certain apps do not work anymore?
Google search and Linkedin so far, give me "Unfortunately, google search/Linkedin has stopped"
I don't remember installing something that may harm, or doing something to change the software version.
P.S. same thing started a week ago for one colleague with S2, and every day new apps stopped working. At the end, Factory Reset was done, but i don't know the outcome now...

Thanks. I did not manage to get boot into recovery...so factory reset solved the issue for now.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2534420 I recommend to you to install TWRP also, since it has an option for dalvik cache wiping.

do the factory reset will flash all the settings plus all the apps???how does the factory reset works???i also have same problem that some services were stopped...
I have a HTC Wildfire S, rooted, with an AOKP rom.
One day, my phone was running slow, so I rebooted into recovery and cleared dalvik cache and system cache. I rebooted the system and absolutely NOTHING is working. after I unlock the phone, a bunch of processes stop working. Pressing the home button makes Nova Launcher crash. I have since uninstalled it, and still nothing is working.
I can't even turn the phone off using the power button. The only way I can shut the screen off is by removing the battery manually.
EDIT: I tried a factory reset, and it's still the same as before. NOTHING is working. I can go into Settings, that's about it.
A list of apps that stop working:
Link2sd
facebook
outlook
yahoo weather
google.process.gapps
nova launcher
swiftkey
superuser
ETC..
I have attached pictures so you guys can have a sense of what my problem is. Sorry if the pictures are blurry, I had to use my Ipod touch to take them.
Sorry If i have made any errors in this thread. I am new here, I just created an account right now so I can find some help to solve my issue.

just reflash the rom. boot into recovery wipe data and flash the rom
Reflash or flash another rom.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using Tapatalk
Thanks @Guitarfreak12 and @aWFSuser
I did what you guys said, and I reflashed the same ROM and everything is working fine. The only downside, although, is that I have had to re-install all my apps again.
Also, would you guys know what caused the problem? I'd like to know so that I can ensure it doesn't happen again in the future.

Did you had a lot of applications installed and linked along with dalvik to sd-ext?
Then after clearing the cache on reboot the dalvik files will regenerate in the /data partition if there are a lot of apps and the /data overflows then your apps will stop working without the dex files. And clearing the dalvik cache usually doesn't help in increasing speed.........next time you should go into link2sd and use the "clean dalvik cache" option there.........

This actually happens because Link2SD can also link dalvik cache files as well, what the recovery must have deleted would be the symbolic links that the Link2SD script creates, so next time if you want to clear the dalvik cache, use the option found in the Link2sd app
Alright so it seems, instead of using the dalvik cache cleaner on recovery, I should just use the one located in Link2sd. I'll be sure to do that next time to ensure that no problems persist.
Thanks for all the help!
Hey there,
My phone keeps spamming me with an error message that reads "Unfortunately, Google Services Framework has stopped." I can't do anything, because the instant I click OK it shows me another error message. There is a fraction of a second window that I can click on the screen, so I tried clicking REPORT and typing an error message one letter at a time, but I can't send a bug report because Google Services Framework isn't working :C
I have attempted to clear my cache, and it didn't solve the problem. It only started occurring after I restarted my phone.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Edit: This problem seems to be unsolvable. I tried everything you can possibly imagine. The only thing that ended up working for me was a factory reset, but thanks to everyone who helped anyway :/
Some more information would be nice.
What ROM / kernel are you on? What did you do right before the problem started occurring? How exactly did you clear cache? Did you just clear dalvik or the cache partition?
You could go to apps in settings and clear the play services and play store caches separately. Try that first.

Thanks for the response.
What ROM / kernel are you on?
I'm using the default ROM/kernal that comes with the Nexus 5X.

Okay, I just tried doing that but when I tap 'Clear Cache' the error message pops up before anything can happen. I filmed a really quick video to show you what I mean. I have a new account so I can't directly link to it. www(dot)youtube(dot)com/watch?v=5Uw5_VyLP40 When I'm not holding a camera I have enough time to quickly press OK and then click the clear cache button, but nothing seems to happen.
What did you do right before the problem started occurring?
My phone was running low on battery, and I was about to go into an exam so I switched it off. I just plugged it in to charge and then booted it once it was at 100%. As soon as I unlocked my phone I got spammed with those error messages.
How exactly did you clear cache? Did you just clear dalvik or the cache partition?
I cleared the cache partition.
Hope this helps

Maybe try clearing the dalvik cache first before a factory reset.

I can't actually find an app called 'Google Services Framework', but there are a few similar things. I'll try disabling them first. Also, I was really hoping i wouldn't have to do a factory reset, but I will do it if nothing else works.

Alright, I would have to root to find that wouldn't I? I'll give it a go, and I'll report back soon with results.
Thank you both for your help.

Woke up to my phone displaying "Google Play Services keeps stopping" I read a few posts and tried what was recommended. Tried to clear cache, freeze/unfreeze app, reboot, etc. No change. Some one suggest a Factory reset. Seems like a quick fix.
I am now reflashing the Mar release with -w. I hope that will "fix it"
Has anyone else seen/solved this annoying problem?
EDIT: After reflashing the Mar release -w I am getting "Settings keeps stopping" Any suggestions before I have to do a full Flash/wipe?
EDIT2: I gave up on fixing the problem and ran flash-all with wipe. Now restoring my 151 user apps from Google. Have a good set of TiBu back ups too.

Hey Swieder I'm interested to know how your TiBu restore went. I maintain a full backup set that i havent ever had to use and wondering if they will be reliable on 10. I've heard data restores can be hit or miss on 10 so would be happy to hear your success. Also, why restore apps from Google? I usually turn off Google sync and do a batch app + data restore.

I let Android play restore most of the apps and associated data. Once that was done I used TiBu to fill in a few missing data pieces and apps. Worked great.
