Does anyone know what the area below the search bar is called (the area where the link is displaying)? I'm trying to figure out which flag in the chrome://flags option to disable. I've already turned off recent bookmarks visited and recent downloads. I want all the clutter off the page. Google is crowding this page with tons of junk now. They need options in the regular settings to turn these off instead of going through the flags settings.

Well, if you mean "they need to put it in the regular settings instead of flags" then no, its not... because Google will never do that, but I used this guide and my "new" pages are 100% COMPLETELY blank- just the way I like it. Not sure what else you were looking for?

You even got the spot where the MMA Junkie link in the pic I posted gone? I tried all the stuff in that article and that's the only thing now working for me. I have to delete those manually.

I find the mouse hover preview popups quite annoying. They cover up way too much data in adjacent lines. There should be a client option to turn it off. Could someone look into this, please?

When you are in a forum such as rom development and you hover over a thread title, a preview of the thread pops up.
I think that is what he means.

Yep, Denco7, that's what I was talking about. I spent a few hours with Google looking for a way to disable it but it turns out to be a server side thing in the HTML.

Wow, that is large! Glad I've never run into that large popup...
Funny never really noticed them as have to hover over rather than scroll over to see, think the best way to get around it is just to scroll in the blank between subject & rating if they are frequent.

Yeah, I know where the safe zones are but I like to use the cursor as a place holder while I read. There is a way in the site HTML that allows the client the option to turn those obnoxious pop-ups off and I would like the webmaster to look into it. But really, who in the heck needs them in the first place?
They look like nothing more than the ALT text on the HTML links displaying the first few characters of a post. The problem looks to be the use a line breaks that cause them to run over a few lines. If you use these in somewhere like the Q&A forum it's quote handy to get an idea of a post before you click on it.
I use it all the time to try and decide if I can help before I go clicking to go in and then going back out.

Very cool. Thanks!
Installed, went to set up profile, program force-closes every time I click "edit name." As much as I like Grindr, I think I'm going to uninstall this.
[before anyone asks, I did fix permissions and restart the phone.]

is this what i think it is?
If it doesn't force close, it just says there's an error.
Ahaha, just what I needed. Not! Lol I should prob Google a app first before blindly downloading

Yes it is, there a problem sir? :]
I've been running this for a couple of weeks. I have the same bug in that I can't edit any of the free text to add a name, headline etc. Chat and pics seem to work ok though. I have a funny feeling that grindr are trying to censor information about this alpha as nothing seems to show up about it on twitter etc.
Does anyone know - or can anyone find out where the settings are stored for profile - are they on the phone or on the grindr server? If on the phone perhaps a config file could be hacked.
When it doesn't force close, I can't get it to even sign on to their network. I'll have to stick with scruff for now
I have a feeling settings are stored on their server, since they were working on letting you use the same profile on multiple devices.

I'm not gay, but intolerance is just so ****ing wrong, PERIOD. You have a right to free speech in america, but maybe you should sit the next few rounds out.
To the mods that see this, I apologize. I had to.
I've noticed in the last few days that the envelope with arrow icon doesn't show anymore in Classic view. BTW the icon and meaning are missing from the legend at the bottom of page...
Interestingly I use the classic view because the Xda 2010 view had this behavior from its infancy, after I reported I was told the problem was solved but it worked only after viewing the thread and refreshing the page. I just tried this now but to no avail.
Can someone help me solve or understand this issue?
Thanks
This is the view I get now for threads I've posted in (in the 2010 skin), I don't know about the classic skin. That little text note icon means I've posted in the thread:

}
I subscribe, with no e-mail, to any thread I post in, that way they'll show up in my User Control Panel, I can just click to the UCP and read any updates. It's the easiest way I've found to keep good track.
Thanks for the tip reinbeau, I'll use it if managers and mods don't or can't solve this more elegantly, i.e. like it used to be (unless this is happening only on my computer)
It's not just you. I use Classic view too and have had this problem for the last few days. Hope to see a fix soon.
Informed the admin. Could be due to server issues we are facing.
Thank you for a prompt response

You can see this icon only if you already are in XDA 2010 view, but if you are in XDA Classic view there's only 5 icons and the 6th is missing
I was wondering what the heck happened to that icon! Any resolution...?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who was missing it. That little arrow was very useful.

Sorry guys, this slipped out of our mind perhaps. Flagged the admin again.
Anyone know why chrome (latest version) is showing my tabs as a list, rather than the "album cover" way they usually do? I just switched to the s9; it's this something with the phone, or maybe a new setting in Chrome?

Yes! Tapping the tab count now brings up a list, and swiping down from the URL/search box brings the "album art" fan of the tabs. It took some getting used to to start swiping instead.

I have no idea. What's weird is I reset my phone and now it doesn't do it anymore.
Glad to help!
I've never had a Pixel 5, but half the time I flash a ROM on my 9Pro, it ends up showing in Play Store or Maps as a Pixel 5.
What's up with that?
Also, anyone know how I can remove all these devices from Google Maps?
Play Store only has one device, so not sure why Maps has all these devices showing.
This is what pops up when I do a "send directions to my phone".

Some custom roms present themselves as a Pixel device for Google purposes, i.e. unlimited backups or such
https://myaccount.google.com/device-activity for your devices, click the 3 dot menu and sign out, then it will be removed. You might be surprised by what shows up there, mine shows multiple "Android", I have the same for Pixel 5, never had one.

It shows up as a Pixel 5 because some custom ROMs decide to spoof the device model in order to unlock Pixel exclusive features (Screen Call, Direct My Call, unlimited photos, etc.)

Was going to give djsubterrain a thumbs up too, but his signature is begging people to give him a thumbs up.
So, it's probably as easy as editing the whatchamacalit file to change the model name then.
I can find it next time I have the issue.
