I flashed 8.1 from factory image and saw something I haven't seen in months, the Google Weather notification in the notification bar. It was showing before updating the Google app and as soon as I updated Google it went away again and hasn't come back. Where the hell did it go.

The same happen to me. Did you know how to return to show this notification again? The same happen with the notification about drastic changes in the weather.

No. I think it's something broken in the the current releases of the Google app. It wasn't until it updated that it disappeared. Not sure what version of Google the 8.1 factory image ships with but whatever version number it is the notification works on it.
Weird, I get the notification every morning and every evening. Then again, I've clicked that it was useful so many times in the past, so not sure if it's related to that

Yeah, I see it at least a couple of times a day. I've even hit "not useful" but it keeps coming back. For me, it is redundant and just another notification to swipe away. @AndrasLOHF - do you by chance have notifications turned off for Google News and Weather? If you open Settings and type "weather" it is the only thing that comes up.

I actually don't have that app installed. Did they perhaps move it to that app?

The separate Google News and Weather app does not have to be installed on setup. As I've stated in my OP the notification was there when I fresh flashed 8.1. As soon as the Google App updated in the Play Store after the phone was setup it disappeared and hasn't been seen since.

Perhaps clear the Google app cache? Maybe reflash 8.1? I don't have the Google News and Weather app installed, am on Jan update of 8.1, am up to date on all apps on the Google Play Store, and literally just swiped away the weather notification right before posting this. No idea why yours is not showing up. I do check the forecast using Google by tapping on the at a glance widget almost daily, so maybe it's related to that
So several weeks after resetting my cards I'm now getting the notification again. Still not sure why it took doing that to fix it nor why it worked on the fresh flash until the Google App updated. Either way.... Working now.
BTW.... Still no Google News and Weather app installed as that's not what sends this notification.

I have rooted 4.6.1 with nova launcher. I have tried both amazon store messenger and play store version. When I say no notifications I mean nome. Not eve if I had the app open and switched to my home screen but kept phone on. I have xposed but disabled most modules.
I really need this to work. I have checked app settings, manage notifications, and notification listemers and I don't know what else to try. I can't reset the phone. It took me a dozen hours just to ge.t everything setup.
Edit. I am not sure if any notifications are working right now. Got a text and only after profreminder app sent a reminder beep did I even know.
Edit 2. Outlook works. Attempting to try others.
Ideas welcome.
Hey sorry to do this, but wanted some new visibility from people who may have read the OP. If your notifications are working, could you let me know which if any apps you have disabled, if you are rooted, that sort of thing?

I was bothered by that issue and never got it working. Curiously though, the notification works only when you happen to be in the Settings section of the Facebook Messenger app.
I've changed FireOS for CM11. I don't regret it. Every push notification works as it should.
Any ideas what this could mean¿?

I m guessing it has something to do with an update of Google App. I get the same error when opening it.
OMG, this has been happening to me all day as well and it's been driving me nuts. I've tried everything to fix it; reverted to the non-beta Google app, cleared the Google app cache/data, cleared Google Play Services data, and eventually reset my watch (twice). The Google app starts working again (though no feed cards) but then the watch installs "Your feed" and the problems begin again.
I'm on a Pixel with Oreo, for what it's worth.
Facing the exact same problem, reset twice as well, once the "your feed" is installed on the watch, i keep getting the error, i think the your feed is the app that pushes the google card to the watch? coz i don't see any of the google card appearing on the watch after getting those error, and i don't know how to disable the app as well

It's the Google app. Try opening it, you'll get the same error...

I've also had this same error for about three days, ever since the latest Google app update. Did a factory reset, and the error started again once the Google app installed fresh. My wife has a Moto 360 Sport, and the Google app on her watch now has 'Your Feed' by the G logo. I'm wondering if they made some Wear 2.0 specific change that's not compatible with Wear 1.0? I am using a Pixel XL with my SW3, for what it's worth.
Can confirm that the Google app is broken on AW. Everytime I manually start the app out crashes. Looks like Google has some more work to do. But hey, that's what betas are for ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Opting out of the Beta program for the Google app, uninstalling the beta version, and then waiting a little while for the changes to sync to my SW3 appears to have fixed this for me and I can now open the Google app on my watch without getting the error. Unfortunately, this has also reset my home screen layouts and removed all my widgets

Finally found people with the same problem!
My Samsung Gear Live has been just permanently on a white screen saying my feed has stopped and the whole thing is literally unusable. It's been like this for about a week, and i've unpaired, resetup, cleared cache, rebooted and even uninstalled as many apps as I could via debugging. I did not uninstall "google search", but if it's not a root app I will try that now!
My ASUS Zenwatch is doing the same thing!

The beta Google app on my Pixel XL updated last night, and since the update the white screen "your feed has stopped" hasn't come back, but if I try and run the Google app on my SW3, it immediately kicks to the error screen. So the Google app still won't run on my watch, but the constant error screen has gone away. Looks like the Wear 1.0 version of the app still needs some polish.

Same problem. I switched watch faces to something from a company called HuskeyDEV. Prior I had a face that came from Android Wear. Since then it's only happened 1 time. Before it was every few minutes. No idea the switch might work, but it seems to. Just sayin
OK, so the very latest (23rd) Google app update seems to have resolved it for me. I uninstalled the Google app from the watch via adb and it didn't crash, then I let the google update go through and my watch then said that "feed" was installed and it hasn't crashed in 24 hours. Previously it would ONLY display the crash screen and was completely unusable.

Well it crashed again today, in an endless crash loop. I have uninstalled Google Search via adb again and it's fine for now.
Opting out of the Beta for the Google app might be the only permanent solution. I don't mind the bugs that come with beta's, but this one is making the watch useless. =-[
Anyone else having issue with Facebook notifications?
Every other app works fine - Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn..etc.
I checked my app settings and notification settings within Android and everything seems to be in order. Even re-installed the Facebook app and still no dice.
When I open the app I see I have notifications, however my phone isn't notifying me of anything related to Facebook. I have open the app to see the notifications within the app.
Anyone else having the same problem?
I am on Pixel 2 XL 8.1 stock.

No, it is active.
Having the same issue. Also there are times the app doesn't recognize that the phone is connected to WiFi. The app continues to update the feed, but the videos won't auto play until I turn off WiFi then back on.
Have you ever cleared the cache and data under the Google Framework Services trying to push the OTA update? It is said that would break GCM things.

I have not, but the problems have been since day 1 of getting the phone. I'll give it a try and see if there is an improvement.

Similar problem with bootleggers on my Redmi note 5 pro
I noticed today that my Google Feed isn't updating. If I swipe left on my home screen I see my feed with cards but they are the same ones that been there for a long time. If I pull down to update I get a "Can't reach your feed at the moment" message and no cards show. If I lock the phone and unlock it I get the old out of date cards back but still nothing new.
I have also noticed that the weather isn't showing in the "At A Glance" widget on the home screen.
Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas on how to fix? I have restarted and cleared the cache of the Google app and neither have worked. The only other thing I can think of is going to Apps > Google > Storage > Manage Space > Clear All Data but clears search data, search history and feed settings which are used to populate the feed with relevant data. It would have to be set up again(sports teams, stocks, etc) and have rebuild search data which takes time. If that will fix the issue I'll do it but I'd hate to have it not fix the issue and have to start over for no reason.

I found that If I disable the weather updates, my feed starts working again. So it looks like it has to do with the news and weather app. I tried to uninstall/reinstall it, didn't help.

Seems like it's something related to weather updates from within google app, turns out if you disable it from "customize feed" your cards will be back to normal at the loss of weather info on the app and launcher. Glad I'm not alone tho

I ran into this exact issue with my regular pixel 2 about 1 hour ago. When i connected to my wifi i got a system notification saying my streaming service stopped for google (was confused what that meant) but after that my feed did not work. Weather was not showing up in the "at a glance" app as well. I tried to uninstall google app updates, deleted all data google app data, removed my google account and then re added it, and did multiple reboots while on mobile data and wifi. All efforts was not successful. I also was getting the error message "we cannot reach your feed right now" on the google app while the updates were uninstalled.

Same here, on Pixel 2XL for me and Pixel 2 for two of my friends. Weather doesn't show up in At A Glance widget, disabling it in the feed does nothing to the feed, and the phone doesn't react to "Hey Google", but only "Ok Google" despite retraining the voice model. Yes, I noticed the same thing. Uninstalled the latest version and went back to the factory version and it works. Although, I did notice all the cards were very old items ( 7+ hours old) but I'm not sure if that's just because there really is nothing recent.

Things I have tried since I first started noticing the issue:
1. Phone restart.
2. Shut down phone, wait and restart
3. Clear data of Google App along side disabled/enabled app. (Ended up losing Google assistant setup and had to redo it)
4. Uninstalled Google App updates and restarted.
Only thing that has worked is that I have selected weather from feed settings and feed is back.
I have also sent feedback to Google with screenshots.

Oops...they did it again...Google has mastered the art of breaking what's working very well! They keep updating apps that only break many other dependent apps...I'm on the Pixel XL and it's feed seem to work when I remove the weather feed from it...looks like google messed up the weather service...

9:45 PST and it's still not fixed. I believe there is a wide spread problem with Google and also PlayStation Network.
PSN has been wonky since Friday and Google in my area has been wonky since Saturday.
From the early june i still have no notifies for mail in gmail accounts. I try all the possible solutions, also a new Clean flash of the original rom, but the behavior is the same: i receive the notifies only manual opening the gmail app.
Try switchcing with custom rom (crdroid) and notifies works, but i need the original oos, so it's not a solution.
I think that is a play service related problem due to on the end of july after a update of play service the notifies come back to work... But... Another update stop them working.
Have you got a working solution?
I start a new work that use gwork suite, so i still not receive also the work mails .

Try this, worked for me.
Reset the App permissions, it may be that an app or apps or something connected is causing the issue.
Go to Settings > Apps & notifications > see all apps > select three dots > Reset app preferences.
Then reboot.
This will not delete your apps data but you will have to provide permissions for all your Apps again.
Then ensure Gmail has Notifications enabled in its App info>Notifications.

For me it stop working sometimes and when it does i reboot the phone, then go to settings, accounts , Gmail and resync it, then it works again

I've downloaded Oneplus Launcher 5.2.26 together with the Gmail app. Maybe the launcher is the reason for it being fixed.
BTW Launcher 5.2.26 fixed a lot of bugs on the launcher and now the 120Hz is better but not perfect. Scrolling too.
And dont forget to check "Dont Optimize" under Battery
I have installed latest Gmail and Launcher but not help.

I have the same problem with notifications. Until this is fixed, I'm using FairEmail to pull my gmail and the notifications work.
This really is not a issue limited to Oneplus. All my Android devices have poor Gmail notifications. I was under the impression that it was optimized using Doze: https://developer.android.com/training/monitoring-device-state/doze-standby
If you use something like Outlook Email, notifications are not restricted in the background. I would rather use Gmail, but it does not send notifications reliably. So, Outlook it is.
