Thanks for your tutorial, but in my case it ended with the message "root access denied" Is it necessary to have a rooted device to flash? I thought that this process could be executed without root.

My M5 E5653 still has Android 5.0. Software update, nor Xperia companion show new updates available. Does not seem like my carrier, Vodafone Australia, will be updating it anytime soon or at all.
I am not familiar with flashing, rooting, or what a bootloader is. To make it simple, Is there a way I can upgrade from Android 5.0 to whichever is the latest available for the M5?
Of course, if there is, I understand as someone who's not familiar with this, that is it at my own risk following instructions on how to do so
if xperia companions (restore firmware) not upgrade to 5.1
then see howto flash with flashtool

hi, sorry bad english, i just upgraded my phone, just download latest flasthool and firmware whith xperyafirm, create bundle but say yes when it ask use FSC script, and just install normaly

I loaded combination file and it's booting but what to do now ? Cant find FRP bypass file for A320FL. Can you help me ?
Oryginal firmware was adroid 7.0 A320FLXXU1BQH7 all what i found was A320FLXXU1AQA3 i fleshed its working just can't unlock it. Any tips what to do now ?
I didn't have combination file for this version but i downgrade to androi 6.0.1 and i made some trick with keyboard asist can find at youtube.
But after this can't update phone shows phone up to date (android 6) samsung kiess sa,e. So i used odin to flash 7.0 and wiped cache partition + factory reset and still doesn't show updates, why ? Maybe wrong firmware region ?

Going to Software updates it's says it's up to date but if i go to Sony Support webpage and enter my IMEI it's displaying a message that oreo android 8 is ready for my device. That kind a contradicts what my mobile shows.
My question is how can I get Oreo ? Is there somethign hidden ? Is sony trolling me ?)
Can somebody please throw some light and help me out? I have read somewhere that HK market phones do not get oreo(dunno why) but i don't know if mine is HK market or not. Phone details below:

Hey Victor.
Sometimes they take time to roll out. If the IMEI says, you are eligible for Oreo , then you will get oreo soon.
You have customized UK firmware and not HK one.
You can use XperiFirm Tool to check if rollout has become for your device.

According to xperifirm ,the latest available ROM is nougat so you will have to be patient.

Hello Victor
If you want Oreo now then you must software repair through Xperia Companion and if you do software repair then do backup your data in internal storage to sd card and use Xperia Companion for the rest of the backup.

Hi guys, I have the Mi A2 Lite from the end of December last year and the phone is blocked at the update of December 5, 2018, I contacted Xiaomi assistance 3 times from February to today because their answers were always "we withdrew the update for problems "or similar, in the end I discovered through IMEI1 and IMEI2 that my phone was initially intended for the papua new guinea, and according to Xiaomi I can't update the phone in any way. At this point the question is obvious to me "so if one makes a trip abroad and buys a Xiaomi when he returns home he remains screwed ?!"
Do you know how I can update my phone? I tried expressvpn but it didn't work.

AFAIK unlocking the bootloader doesn't void warranty on AndroidOne devices, of course after you relock the bootloader. Because there is no way of knowing that it has been unlocked/flashed etc.

Yes You Are Absolutely Right. Bootloader Should Be Locked After Flashing The ROM Or In Flashing Time.

I had to move from the USA and I need to unlock it, but it seems to be a problem with this security path. I took a look at this thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/g6-play/how-to/guide-t3929928) but I don't know if this might work to downgrade to another security patch.

That's my guide. It's for unlocking the bootloader which is not the same as sim card unlock, it's also for disabling forced encryption and rooting and In case you messed up reflashing stock firmware. While it is possible to downgrade, downgrading will not help unlock your sim card for your phone. Boost Mobile allows sim card unlock after the device has been in service with boost Mobile for a year.
