Hi,
I've got my Pixel on February 2017 from Virgin Megastore in Dubai, all things were going right until last summer after a beach day, I realised that my volume down button does not work anymore and sometimes it still pressed (the button is not pressed physically) which puts my phone on vibrating mode maybe due to humidity or some dirt
I tried many solutions found on the internet: sucking the button, cleaning with Isopropyl alcohol… but no success
This weekend I noticed that my phone consume battery more than normal, tried to restart it but instead of rebooting normally the Fastboot appears
Now I’m stuck in this mode because my volume button down does not work and the power button work like if it is the volume button down, so I can switch between modes (start, power off, barcodes, recovery mode, restart bootloader) but I cannot select none of them
I tried to hold down the power button but it reboots on the same screen
I really don’t know what I can do
Please help me if you have any idea
Thanks in advance
Su fastboot reboot bootloader
Then flash the stock.
It needs USB Debugging to be enabled ? I'm not sure I had enabled it before that when I android starts normally.
Please share with me if you have a tutorial of flashing ROM that would work in my case
Thanks
Just wanted to tell you that I fixed the problem with a “hair dryer”, the volume button down starts working and I could restart the phone normally.
Thank you for you help

Phone seemed fine until earlier when the volume just decided to go right down and it started vibrating. I restarted it and now I'm stuck at recovery as the volume rocker seems to be stuck from the inside. The rocker switch seems to work ok but it's as if the volume is stuck in the down position so that whenever I get into the recovery menu, the cursor just goes loopy as if the vol down is being held.
Has anyone heard of such a thing before and recovered from it or is it a warranty repair job?
Also, any tips on how to RUU the handset in this state?
Any help greatly appreciated.
you can run a RUU while in fastboot mode.
since vol down is constantly pressed i dunno if you will be able to get into it.
try switching phone off, then switching it on pressing BACK + POWER buttons
hopefully this will boot into fastboot rather than bootloader.
if succesful, just plug your phone with a usb cable to PC and run the RUU.exe
I am facing a problem which i have never faced before.
My phone is a Sprint HTC M8 Stock Marshmellow and working fine. The problem is when i want to enter fast boot mode, After turning off the phone when i try to press the power button + volume down, the phone vibrates and then nothing happens except a black screen. I can understand the phone is in fastboot mode as its detected by the All in One Tool. But no further movement after that. I have to press Power + volume Up to reboot the phone again to enter my os.
In simple words i cant access the bootloader menu, all i see is a black screen. Can anyone help please?
So I am normally using my phone scrolling through social media but it suddenly froze so I tried to hard reset it, but it goes in to a bootloop without any display on the screen. I could tell it is on a bootloop because of the repeating vibration everytime the phone boots up.
My device is Poco F3 (alioth) Running stock MIUI 12.5 bootloader unlocked and rooted with Magisk.
Things I have tried:
Long pressing power button, long pressing both power button and volume down button, long pressing power and volume up button, then long pressing all of them.
Plugging it on my PC but it doesn't even detect it. Tried inputting
Code:
adb devices
and
Code:
fastboot devices
Still doesn't work. I even made sure that my drivers are working so I tried it on my brothers Poco F3 and the PC can detect his phone through ADB commands.
Waiting for a day if it magically turns on again. Nope.
Charging it up because maybe the battery is low. Nope.
At this point my only two choices is opening up the back panel then replugging the battery so it completely turns off and hopefully boots up. But its a risky task since I don't have special tools to open up my phone, and my another choice is just bring it on a service center.

If the phone is bootloader locked don't do anything, take it to service center it's out of your hands.
If service center intends to charge you something well you could find some people online with edl accounts to do flashing for you but this sounds like hardware issue if you don't see poco logo ...
Edit: Sry didn't read the post fully - did u try fastboot devices when in fastboot mode - volume down and power ? If it is recognized and bootloader unlocked you can try flashing - go with xiaomi firmware, last thing you want is to be stuck on custom firmware when you take it in for repair - again only if bootloader is unlocked
since your brother pc can recognize, tried fastboot miui.eu on his pc
but I had this problem before and the only solution is to change mainboard on the xiaomi service center.

Do you have any clue as to why this happened? Any mods done besides applying Magisk?
If the software got damaged, you could try the EDL Mode but that's difficult. Should be your last resort.
If hardware, then I don't know unfortunately...but then how?

If it's recognised by your brothers pc, try that pc for flashing stock fastboot rom using miflash, and don't forget to choose 'flash and wipe' instead of 'flash and lock' in bottom right corner of miflash. Let us know how you get on
Happened today. Random bootloop while under normal use. Also occasionally attempted to trigger the emergency SOS call when power BTN clicks 5 times.
Saved by a solution in poco x3 thread.
The failure mode I experienced was possibly a "sticky" power button.unsure if it's an electrical short or something mechanical in nature tho since it's intermittent triggering of the power button.
Temp fix was some quick clicks of the power button a bunch of times(20-30 clicks?).
Also shut off the emergency sos function.

Same... it started calling emergency number and wouldn't shut off by holding power button.
Worst device ever
{Mod edit: Inappropriate language edited. Oswald Boelcke}
So I have spent hours now looking around for an answer the phone is find my phone locked and I can't remember my pin code. I have done all the tricks with the combination keys.
The usual way to get into Recovery mode is Hold V+ and power until the phone vibrates and you should be in recovery mode release the keys. (Doesn't work)
Iv read that you should have the USB cable connected from pc/laptop while you do the same holding V+ and power button... (doesn't work ether)
and download mode should be very easy just hold V+ and V- plug USB cable from pc/laptop and you should get into download mode by pressing V+. Will only show charging Icon and that's its.
So is it possible to turn off this modes from the manufactor? Or is this a completely new security future? How can you use odin? How can you wipe the cache? If you end up having some issues.
Im going nuts....
No way to get into fastboot ether. So if anyone know why this is happening to me or got any solution I would appreciate it.
Plug in your cable with the phone turned on. Hit Power Off and wait for the phone to fully turn off. The charging logo will show up so let the animation do its thing. After maybe 20 seconds, press Volume up + Power and keep them pressed until you boot to recovery. If the command wasn't recorded in the first place and the phone is still off after more than 15 seconds, let go of the buttons and press them again and keep them pressed until it boots in Recovery

Take it to a Samsung Experience center at best buy. Or send it into Samsung for repair.

thats a solid advice assuming his bootloader/recovery/download mode is fully functional then this advice works, in his case and in mine too it does not work and trying to get to the root of the problem is the key. In my case recovery mode gives error on screen so it may have to do with the way firmware is installed as these modes are not accessible.
have you sorted it out? Its nearly a year onwards =)

This, at index 2:48 minutes.
It needs to be connected to the PC. Another screwy quirk Samsung added recently. Your button timing/sequence matters as well.
On my N10+'s you can go into recovery directly with a restart if you do it right. Otherwise they will puke on you.
