Thanks for OnePlus launcher, love that new shortcuts on OB3, they aren't available on 5.0.1 before this mod
Sorry for stupid question, this music app will work better, with more audio effect and less cpu power consumption, compared to pulsar or poweramp? in a device like the mi a1 with snapdragon cpu?

Can't say about Pulsar or poweramp, but it works better than Play Music with lesser battery consumption and better sound output. Shouldn't be a hard fact to relish in-house apps would always work better.

I can't test it coz after installing the musicfx.....i can't find the icon.
Am i missing something?

Apparently, the music and music fx works on honor 6x running emui 8
i can't download any of the files can you upload it to a mirror?
Hello thank you for the update to Oreo. I have now a Oneplus 6T and it is working fine with the usb-c to 3.5mm(f) adapter but if I plug usb-c headphones into the phone the musicfx bass or surround controll can't be set because it says these options are only for headphones. So in general usb-c headhpones or my usb-c to 3.5mm(m) adapter for car won't be recognised as headphone devices but it plays sound just normal but without the surround and bass settings. So my question is if it is a general usb-c problem or a general problem with pie ?
@oF2pks
please update musicFX for pie and Q

More on the HPH NAGRACE NT-N8 RK3229
Firstly I am finding the NT-N8 Media player to be a bit of a Joy to use and operate, simple easy everything just works pretty much as it should.
Video quality good as playback, WiFi and Ethernet speeds are good, no problems on my WD DUO NAS.
Easy to navigate with supplied remote that also works well, or Keyboard/mouse testing with the B.O.E BT keyboard no problems.
Also BT to the Soundbar easy as.
Ok A few Bench test and Info to continue.

NT-N8, MM soon for RK3399
Final stock MM firmware will be uploaded next week(if everything is finished).
There is still a lot of work the manufacturer has to do to get it in a bug free state.
Root has to be added, Android remote control support, new MM pass-through support, shutdown power etc.
Because of no root, I couldn't test any root apps or Xposed framework yet.
Auto frame-rate switching is working in Kodi and RK Video Player, yeah
So videos will be smoother and audio better in sync.
Also a VP9, webm video(tara-no9-vp9.webm) that was not hardware accelerated and played in slow motion on Lollipop, now plays full speed.
There were just 2 videos, one with no sound and another 4K video that gave a black screen that worked correctly on Lollipop.
The sound might be because the pass-through settings and audio codecs still need to be added, the final firmware should hopefully have a fix for it.
But I think with the new Media framework for RK3229 Rockchip is working on, it will solve a lot of video/audio compatibility problems, it is only available for MM.

Changelog v1.0
Auto frame-rate switching working
If you are using a 4K tv, please turn deep color/hi color mode on first on your tv if you get no signal since it is required for 10-bit video playback.
Please change the auto frame-rate switching time or turn it off to have better audio in sync, LP defaults must be adjusted for MM still.
- Unified Storage(+- 5.83 GB available space)
- DRM for streaming apps support
- Root Enabler/Disabler in Accessibility Options(useful if you want to disable root for using certain apps that don't work)
- Fixed random MAC Ethernet address(useful for some streaming apps)
- Added Google Apps
- Removed unnecessary apps and replaced some default apps
- Remote friendly launcher with shortcuts
- Added Kodi/RKMC support
- Stable wifi performance
Instructions:
Before Installation
- Make sure USB Power saving mode is disabled for the USB Port you use to flash the device
- Use a PC Back USB Port and not ones from the front or a laptop
- Pause Antivirus software for 10 minutes to not interfere with the flashing or cause high disk usage.
- Make sure device was connected to PC before in flash mode and drivers were installed
To Install the drivers
1. If flashing for the first time, you need to install the drivers with DriverInstall.exe
2. If you recently upgraded your operating system to Windows 8.1 or higher, it's also a good idea to install the latest drivers.
3. Let your PC recognize the device and automatically install the drivers
- Connect the device with an OTG Port and cable to PC
- Now connect the power adapter
- Before plugging the power adapter into the device, hold a paperclip into the reset hole of the device, keep holding it while connecting
the power. You will hear a 'click sound' that Windows has now recognized the USB device.
- It will ask to install the drivers or install it automatically.
Flashing the ROM
1. Select 'Upgrade Firmware' in AndroidTool v2.35(Second tab)
2. Click on the 'Firmware' button to load the firmware(update.img that you extracted from the 7zip compressed file)
3. Click 'EraseFlash' to wipe your device, wait for it to finish.
4. Click 'Upgrade' to flash the new firmware.
5. Wait about 2 minutes after flashing and before unplugging device for firmware to settle.
6. Disconnect from PC and connect to TV.
Enjoy

- Increase 3D performance, games will also benefit
(Thanks to Nagrace for resolving those problems)

To hide the statusbar, change in the build.prop file
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to a 1
If someone has a different way to hide the navigation bar or Github code were it was done in another MM ROM, please share.
Also enable Developer Settings by pressing 5 times on build info to disable the other aanimations for improved performance.
FTMC/SPMC 16.5.2, Kodi 17 beta 7 all work great.
NTMC/RKMC supports 10-bit H264 and VC1 videos which SPMC/Kodi 17 beta might not support.
Would be interesting to know if pass-through works in the latest Kodi nightlies with the new changes.

Android TV resolution
Good day
I received my N8 plus version yesterday and flashed the Anrdoid TV firmware. My TV (FHD Samsung) is showing a black border all around the screen. I assume it is because the output is only HD instead of FHD?
Is there a way to set the OS resolution to FHD instead of HD?

Hi
You can go to Sideload Launcher - Settings then Display Options/Output.
Try to change the resolution to 1080p or 720p.
See if it helps.
Otherwise post a link to a screenshot, maybe it can help to better undrstand the problem.

EDIT JUNE 2018: This thread is no longer needed. If you're on the latest versions of AOSP/LOS then all you need is Magisk to install APTx and have it working.
Original thread continues below.
================================
This post will help you add aptX Bluetooth capability to your Pixel XL.
NOTE: This mod is only for ROM's using the Qualcomm Bluetooth stack, such as 14.1+ Cyanogen/Lineage OS.
Does not work in ROM's using the AOSP Bluetooth stack, such as Stock Pixel, Dirty Unicorns/Pure Nexus.
Apt-X and Apt-X HD are officially supported in Lineage OS based ROM's
https://www.xda-developers.com/late...port-for-aptx-and-aptxhd-caf-rebase-and-more/
For the moment, this thread only deals with non-HD aptX.
aptX HD is still rarely supported by headphones & other devices.
I'll research and add appropriate files for HD soon.

KNOWN COMPATIBLE ROMs:

Hexa-Project
Lineage OS

DIRECTIONS TO INSTALL MOD:
Just go to this post and flash the zip in TWRP.

VERIFY MOD IS WORKING
To verify the mod is working, you should only need your ears and a HIGH QUALITY audio file.
Otherwise, you can use search your logcat for the string "aptx" to verify it's being enabled.
Such as in the output you see below.
Code:

Have you heard of aptX Bluetooth?
It lets your Bluetooth connection deliver cleaner, fuller sounding audio to aptX supported devices (headphones, car stereo, etc).
Your Pandora may not sound any better, but your FLAC and other high end MP3 type files should sound cleaner, slightly more sparkly highs and better defined lows.
Think of it as the difference between listening to FM radio vs. a CD.
While it's not that drastic a difference, a capable ear should be able to enjoy what aptX delivers.
Same goes for HD voice calls if you have access to that. There may be more clarity noticed on these types of calls when using an aptX supported audio chain.
The aptX mod should not interfere with Viper or any other Android audio mod.
It's simply a codec, such as A2DP using SBC. But instead of SBC, you'll be using aptX.
Please give a big thanks to @dh.harald for coming up with this particular solution.

Unlikely. I think they use AOSP Bluetooth stack.
You can try though, it won't break anything to put the files in the same location.
But I'm fairly sure it'll be a waste of time.
Someone with a Nexus 6 said it didn't work on their pure nexus ROM.

I have it in my stock ROM, rooted with a custom kernel. I haven't tested it out yet. But I feel like these files do what I usually do manually in system/etc/a2dp_audio_policy_configuration.xml set the values to "96000,192000" and Bluetooth dramatically increases in depth and clarity almost the same as setting your computer audio to 24bit 192000 it's just a driver. I don't know why Google doesn't make this code part of Android it really makes a difference!
It should look like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

My mod or the mod above?
My mod will work with stock rooted, and a custom kernel. Use ES file explorer and a text editor to modify th .XML file and restart. You will notice the difference with good audio. Also WETA audio adds a significant audio gain with the addition of Sony and HTC audio libraries. You don't have to use Dolby Atmos or viper4android that ar included to get these gains. I'm one for not to processed audio viper tends to make the sound signature sound to digital but some of its settings are good for certain situations. That's the link for the WETA mod.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120694195
I'm pretty sure I tried aptX mod on stock and it didn't work. You're welcome to try though, it won't break anything.
Sachi, you might want to make a separate thread for your mod and leave it out of this thread.
aptX will increase bandwidth but I'm sure your mod has its merits too.
I did this mod on my Pixel xl rooted with elementalx kernel 1.03 and stock ROM. Worked fine but for some reason when ever the phone went to sleep it would not wake back up.

I cannot think of a single reason why that would happen.
I'll try to duplicate this afternoon.
Thanks bro I really loved this mod! Makes my BT headphones Sound so crispy. I know it's the mod causing it because after reverting back it stopped dong it, but will keep testing. Oh I forgot to mention I do have viper audio mod and the dolby Atmos on my Pixel XL. Could that be that issue?

I flashed back to stock "V" 7.1.1 image which is the latest.
Then rooted with SuperSU 2.79 SR2.
Then installed ElementalX 1.03.
Then installed the .so aptX files and connected to my aptX headphones.
I am only connecting via A2DP, as expected. aptX does not engage/work at all.
I did verify this via my headphones blue LED which flashes a certain times to indicate A2DP vs. aptX as well as reviewed my catlog which did not indicate aptX was in use.
I also verified no issues with phone going into or waking up from deep sleep.

It doesn't work on stock or other ROM's with AOSP bluetooth stack.
It DOES work on ROM's with Qualcomm Bluetooth stack, though so far there is only one to test & verify this with.
Here is Lineage OS ROM and it works on this ROM:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/pixel-xl/help/try-lineage-xl-t3537898
Wouldn't it be possible to simply "copy"/port the Qualcomm BT Stack onto regular AOSP roms? I'm talking replace the libs and confs type of deal...

That would be nice.
Click the link in my signature to monitor the [mostly non-existent] development towards this goal.
Btw, there is a new LineageOS based ROM in the dev forum.
This aptX mod should work on it too.
The ROM is still in Alpha testing though.

Hey guys...
ScreaMySkrillEX here..
This is an audio mod made specifically for the ZUK Z2(all variants) on the request of @devabhi..
I currently have made this mod for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3(kenzo) and this is gonna be my 2nd device..
Coming back to the mod, this is purely based on hardware tweaks and modding rather than software mods like Dolby atmos, viper4android, etc. which make changes at software-level.
This mod globally enhances the music experience.
What does it do(currently)?
This mod actually enables the earpiece speaker also along with the bottom-firing speakers. So you have a dual speaker config like the HTC10 has where the purpose of the speakers are same. The loudspeaker is untouched but the earpiece behaves like a mid-range booster and adds some more detail for the speaker audio output. I have also some minor tweaks to the headphone audio also. This mod enables CLS_H_HIFI mode during headphone audio playback which should make your listening experience better than stock.
Install Instructions:
1) Download the latest release of shox Audio Mod.
2) Reboot to recovery.
3) Flash the zip.
4) Reboot.
5) Magic.
This mod supports all other software mods like Dolby atmos, viper4android, etc without breaking their functionality and supports all ROMs.
Read the second post for download link, more info and tips.
Thanks to:
@chdloc - Has thought me many things. I learnt most of the tweaking from his advice's and suggestions.
@UltraM8 - For his Ainur SAURON audio mod.
@zhuhang - For his Viper4Android and IRS samples.
@ZeroInfinity - For his contribution to the android community. Has done many great works in audio modding section. His works were the inspiration for me.
@devabhi - For PMing me to add support this device too. This mod is here because of him.
@ahh988 - For being a prominent tester for this mod. Most of the testing has been done by him. This mod is alive thanks to him.
Link to the google drive folder which contains flashable zip of all releases:
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B5ratNhH-7mGa1I4VW5wMXlmYjg
Recommended tips:
1)This mod works(should work) on all ROMs and kernels. If there is any compatibility issues or other requests, please post a reply. I will definitely respond to it.
2)Flash Ainur Sauron audio mod made by @UltraM8 along with this mod for a much better experience. This is currently the best audio mod which is the cleanest..Please thank him for his great work...
Link here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/soundmod-ainur-audio-t3450516
3)Users who need more tweaking to the audio can use Viper4Android.
Link here:http://vipersaudio.com/blog/?page_id=25
4)I have included some of the best IRS samples for viper4android(according to me). So try it out if you are using viper4android for complete control over your music. Extract the zip and place the contents in viper4android/kernel directory of your internal storage.(the zip provided is not recovery flashable).
5)People who use MX player for videos can enable SW audio boost which will further increase the sound levels through speakers without any distortions..
It is recommended not to listen through speakers at full volume for longer periods.. Keep the volume low by 1 or 2 steps from the max.
6)People who think that the present max volume through headphones isn't enough can install viper4android and increase output gain to 6dB in master gate..
My personal Viper4Android settings:
Master power - on
Playback gain control - off
FET compressor - off
Viper DDC - on, set to sennheiser hd558
Spectrum extension - on, set to 1.0
Firequalizer - off
Convolver - off
Differential surround, field surround, headphone surround+, reverberation - all set to off
Dynamic system - off
Viper bass - off
Viper clarity - off
Tube sound simulator - off
AnalogX - on, set to extreme
My earphones :
1) Sennheiser cx180 street-II - daily outdoor use.
2) Skullcandy Ink'D - used rarely.
3) Sony MDR-ED12LP - used when I'm at home.
Changelogs:
V1 - *initial release.
*increased amp gain for more headphone volume and decreased DAC gains to remove distortions.
*added dual speaker config like htc10.
V1.1 - *added support to flyme OS(thanks to @sonictrain for reporting)
V1.2 - *enabled compander for headphone audio to increase the amp gain to the max.
*readjusted earpiece and loudspeaker audio for both htc10 and stereo version.
*added a new version called stereo version
*htc10 version is the default dual speaker config which I had made in the initial release of the mod.
*stereo version enables stereo playback through speaker audio. Earpiece behaves as left speaker and loudspeaker behaves as the right speaker. Its a true stereo effect. You can check it out with stereo test music or app.
V1.3 - *added support for stock ZUI ROM (thanks to @ahh988)
*added a new version called stock version which only makes changes to audio through headphone jack without touching anything else. So now you have three versions:
1)stock version
2)htc10 version
3)stereo version
*made some changes to volumes of all streams from 87(ZUK stock) to 84(hardware stock value). I don't know why did ZUK people kept it at 87. This will remove distortions in headphone e audio.
*added an impedance selection for people who use headphones with high or low impedance. The installer configures the amp settings appropriately to give you the best audio experience possible.
*Increased amp volume from stock value 12 to 16 for low impedance and 20 for high impedance to boost headphone jack output volume without causing any distortions.
*added ota survival script for the mod.
*finally, integrated the mod into an aroma installer.(thanks to @MOVZX)
*Retuned stereo version to balance the audio and give a perfect sound (thanks to @ahh988)
*added 24-bit audio rendering through headphone jack output to increase sound quality.

NO need for su/Magisk, just normal app install. (An other green icon, for alphabetical shortcut to videos, is added to launcher.)
For Magisk only, SnapdragonMusic and OP5 are fully compatible with DOLBY ATMOS (La7000) https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/soundmod-axon-7-dolby-atmos-t3412342
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=165966
Nota : please, if you have another Snapdragon device, do report if working ok, thanks.

These app do not use _Advertising or _Analytics.
Conversely to Gallery , the green Videos icon [alphabetical shortcut + Gallery!] is compatible with SplitScreen.
You need Magisk for systemwide (browsers excluded): swap Audio+ (MusicFX) to @ahrion 's DOLBY ATMOS (SplitScreen ok).
For info these Snapdragon Apps were already used in (/system) CAF Roms like UltraCaf or BlissRoms7.1-caf.
(Also is open source and caf optimized (battery & speed) : CS Browser )

Phone permission is used to record device ID and to determine whether a call is in use or to record the number of an incoming call.
Rarely required authorization for music players, but PowerAMP also needs it!
PowerAMP needs it to grab the device ID to verify the pro version.
Here, Qualcomm only seems to be very curious like any other producer, because there is no pro version available, LOL!
I'm sure google music or samsungs music player or any other OEM player also needs the permission.

OP3T on Vertex OS. Works but the audio+ thing FC's, likely not installed or needs MusicFX that I won't install.
It's likely the effects stuff that is designed for SD as the music playback itself is handled by the OS. Overall, the player looks like a decent "stock" app, but I prefer Blackplayer or PowerAmp. This looks a lot like Sony's music player!

Preset updated to be worked with newest viper 2.7.2.1, download zip and extract to Android/data/com.pittvandewitt.viperfx/files/ here!
Note: From android 11, we know google introduced Scoped Storage thing, so we cant directly access Android/data/com.pittvandewitt.viperfx/files
So there are two ways to access
1. Use PC to access and paste necessary files to Android/data/com.pittvandewitt.viperfx/files
2. As you are rooted, use any root explorer (i.e MiXplorer), go to root, access /data/media/0/Android/data/com.pittvandewitt.viperfx/files/ and paste files here
Preset is found here as usual: https://github.com/thedeadfish59/OnePlusBulletWireless2-Viper, download the zip from there and extract to files, like old days

Would this preset also work on James DSP? Haven't been able to get V4A working on my OP7T. Thanks. Just got the Wireless Z and want to try and improve their sound quality.
