I've been running the 6.3 version you posted last week, is there a big difference between the two? And if so can I dirty flash this one over it or would it need to be a clean flash since it's using a different kernel?

No, there are no big differences. I only made the same device tree and kernel changes now as with my xenon builds. I personally always do a clean flash to be sure. You should only flash the new build if you want to use my kernel. If you use the pop kernel I would even stay on the 1217 build. That is also a good choice.
PS: for nougat there will be no updates from the aosip team. I will try to maintain aosip for oreo too. In addition, in the next few days until New Year I will post more other nougat rom builds.
Thanks for this build, other than the Bluetooth FC on startup the only other issues I found are:
1. Security is only September 2017 which I believe means it's still vulnerable to KRACK.
2. If you turn off the screen with the power button the fingerprint sensor is activated immediately and unlocks again. I don't remember this happening with XenonHD so must be a ROM not a kernel issue.
Now I have to give your new Slim7 build a try too

Yes, aosip is still at the September security patch level. Unfortunately nothing will change, because the team is now fully focused on Oreo. Also the Bluetooth FC will not be fixed anymore. I found out that Akhil broke the BT stack somewhere in September. Regarding the fingerprint issue, you are probably right, I do not use the fingerprint sensor, but I think I read something in the aosip chat. Thank you for your hint. :good:
I can also give a status message about the process of building more roms for our Robin. In the last few days, I have been trying hard to build almost everything that exists. Unfortunately I have too little RAM for Gzosp based ROMs (Tesla, Validus). If someone has a PC with 8gb of memory and knows the basics for building, dont hesitate to contact me. I can describe how to fix all build errors. Then there were still some roms, whose source code is not buildable, because something in the rom source is broken or there were sync errors. For example ViperOs, Desolation or OwnRom. And some roms are not allowed to share on XDA, like Reaper, DU or BrokenOs. I'm personally very interested in Reaper OS and have been working on it for a long time. Everything works except telephony. I just wanted to say as long as my Robin lives, I will always try to provide our forum with cool roms. Unfortunately I still lack a lot of knowledge for an Oreo bringup.
AOSiP has always been one of my favorite ROMs. Anyone else? I think about which ROMs to build.

Me and a friend are already working on RR. But all ROMs except LOS so far have camera not working. I want to fix that before.

Alright, thanks again. Hopefully that camera bug will be patched soon.
If anyone has noticed, I have some AOSiP Oreo builds on my Google drive. Feel free to test it, but may be things do not work on some builds. Like LOS this is all experimental. I'll post here a build only if i find it good enough that I would use it myself. Then I will also update the thread because I would like to support AOSiP in the future.
I have also not forgotten RR. Unfortunately, there are still big problems with it.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!
Flashing Instructions:
- Verify that you're using the latest version of TWRP
- Perform a FULL WIPE as described below if coming from another ROM or a different version of Android
(A full wipe is when you wipe system/data/cache)
- Flash the latest version of this ROM
- Flash recommended GAPPS linked below
- Reboot and ENJOY!!
**If you fail to follow these instructions, please don't bother reporting any bugs**
**If you use Xposed, please don't bother reporting any bugs**
**If you use another kernel, please don't bother reporting any bugs**
**This is an unofficial build, please don't report bugs over g+. Report it here itself with appropriate logs**

I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.
SuperSU does not work, what can I do?
If you are useing F2FS, SuperSU does not work on Xiaomi Mi5, use PHH Superuser.

I m using f2fs, latest SU 2.79 SR1 works with it no more phh
Has this rom wakelock blocker ¿?
Thanks for the rom.
this is wonderful news DU has always been my favourite thank you! will try it soon and report
I have f2fs data and cache and supersu is not working, tried the latest version, 2.79 SR1 beta
i tested it quickly, seems very nice
only big problem yes it is video recording, that doesn't work at all here (doesn't save videos to sdcard). but adding "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1" in build.prop seems to fix it! can someone else confirm?
only other things, i miss the swap keys feature, but i could swap keys myself modding keylayout files so not a big problem, and the fingerprint wake that is not enabled, but i see i can enable it with the echo command via terminal.. so again not a big problem!
thanks!

sorry but where? didn't see it.. do you mean something like in CM and other roms where you have "additional buttons" menu in settings? because in DU i didn't see it.. tia!
and for fingerprint wake you confirm we should flash the old zip for cm right? to add the echo command in init.d..
@33bca I installed your DU rom and “com.android.phone.process“ don't works and therefore Does not detect the sim card.
Looks like that it happens when change from cm based rom to aosp roms ?
Any idea what could to be the solution ?
did you clean flash? i came from RR (cm based) and no problems at all..

Reporting Bugs
DO NOT Report bugs if you're running a custom kernel or you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab dmesg . (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. Can this ROM be flashed through TWRP?
A. Yes, proceed with the latest TWRP image
Q. Sounds good. How can I contribute to project?
A. Test the build as much as you can and report bugs which can be reproduced with exact steps and are not random.
Q. How to disable "Apps running in background" dialog?
A. When you see the dialog, long press on it and select "Settings". From there, you'll have a toggle to disable it.
Q. Which Models are supported?
A. So far it works well on the H930(G), US998, VS996 and LS998. Other models may have broken RIL or bootloop. Im open for solutions regarding that.
Q. Why is my phone restarting during the Setup? Or early after it booted?
A. If you use a MicroSD in exfat, that can be the cause. The exfat drivers are for some reason really picky when it comes to that. Change to ext4 or NTFS or so.

That would be the easiest, indeed... Still wish i would find a (working) way to set the model on runtime...
Its even in the kernel commandline (model.name), theres even stuff like color, and other things (bootloader gives that to the kernel).
Tried it with an "init" thing (like other devices have), that kinda didnt work (yes, i excluded all model number stuff from it being written into the build.prop), or my C/++ is just too bad lol
also tried it with a service thats started really early :/
Idk if the kernel itself can set it?
That would be another idea. But has the kernel access to that though, or is that seperated. Sadly though you cant access that via "getprop model.name" either.
Thank you for porting yet another rom. Is it possible that you port Dirty Unicorns too?
hmm.
Cstark wide camera does not work on this rom ( just throws FC ).... but it worked on LineageOS..
Is it just me ?

I'm testing this rom too, and ive noticed same problem. even open camera can't use the wide camera.
btw in this rom the brightness of adaptive display works better than LOS.
The problem of noisy vibration ist present in this rom also.

Blame the AOSP, tried to apply the same patch as on LOS to make the camera available to all apps, didnt work :/
I could make it available to certain apps though (need the package names for that, and then i cant put too many in that list)
What SOT is everyone getting?
this rom and lineage easily 4.5h+
atleast on my side... depends on your usage anyways
It booted on my US998 most of the stuff worked. Just couldn't set up my google account. Need to update some of the drivers for US998 although the rom was intended for h930.
Other than that love the rom. Had to switch because of that. Thank you

NOTES
Do not flash LoonyKernel. Rom already ships with LK along with LK tweaks. If there's a kernel update, I'll separately post kernel update zips for my AOSiP builds.
Recommended TWRP: Download [Thanks to Lyuu]
Recommended OpenGapps Package are Pico and Nano. Users may go for Micro if they want pixel launcher. Any other higher packages is not recommended and may unnecessarily use more memory.
Spectrum support is inbuilt so you just have to install spectrum app from play store to switch b/w different modes depending on the task/activity you are doing.
What's not working
SELinux (Disabled for now)
FM radio does not work
Video recording (Use open camera or asus camera)
In-built camera of some social media apps does not work (e.g. whatsapp)
Flashlight QS toggle (chop gesture works)
If any other you encounter please report with proper logs

Excellent ROM, but unfortunately I could not install magisk. Every time I got the message that it was not installed. When I install it via recovery, magisk says it is installed ... Solution?
Really great work ICrD512 on your ROM. Including sound and volume in the QS pulldown is nice to have, as well as all the other options in the OwlsNest. I had no problem getting Magisk v18.0 to work after installing Magisk manager 6.1.0. Flashed Asus camera and that's working fine Also. Weather on the lock screen would be a nice addition, but everything loads quick and smooth. Xt1644.
Did notice screen brightness is high at 0% on slider for night use. Editing lcd backlight file in root explorer from default 10 to 2 is a temp fix which reverts back when screen turns off. I think I've seen it mentioned in other pie Rom forums that brightness changed in pie.

I agree. It has been one of the best ROM 9.0 I have tried. But since Magisk did not work for me, I had to remove it. I'll take a look again.

I never flash Magisk until I've setup the ROM to my liking and then booting back to twrp and flashing Magisk. Then boot back to ROM and installing Magisk manager. I know others might have a different flashing sequence but this has always worked for me on pie roms.
Great to see another Pie ROM, thanks for your efforts!
Minor issue:
- AOSiP: Charging info on lockscreen is wrong I think: 344mA/h / 4V
unit for charging current should be mA, not mA/h
(and just one digit in 4V is not very accurate ..)

WhatsApp camera not working always crashes
Indeed the best of all pie roms I've tried till now. One thing I really liked about this rom that it didn't gave me inconsistency at performance. Ran smooth when I flashed it and still running smooth unlike some other where by now I start getting stutters and frame drops. Just one thing pls OP can you do something about the status bar gaps on left and right side? It doesn't look good honestly.
Finally a pie rom I am enjoying very much.

Bug reporting:

Perhaps with the September security patch - for now I'm investigating doing a Paranoid Android bringup for taimen. That is a CAF ROM with CAF HALs and stuff, so will probably be considerably more work than the other ROMs I've built so far.
Regardless, i'm syncing several different ROM sources tonight and bootleggers is one of them so stayed tuned.

Not saying it's a bad thing but how come you don't build in gapps like some of the other taimen roms? Especially since it's required

A huge thanks to @firebird11, @MajorP93 and @KakatkarAkshay for the device tree and still keep maintaining it. The device tree will mostly follow @firebird11 's crDroid 7.x changes so if you like this ROM please say thanks to him.

Great to see another unique addition to the Nord community . Thank you !
I just found out that if you use Gesture Navigation it will cause FOD to glitch. To fix this issue you have to hide the Gesture Bar on the length part like picture 1 or else use other navigation, FOD will work fine again.
So to developers or maintainer for this phone, if anyone told that FOD doesn't work on your ROM please check whether they are using Gesture Navigation or not. (except ROMs that have a thin bar like Lineage, that ROM bar is so thin that it doesn't affect FOD at all)

Well if you flash a custom kernel then yea it will work
However, I am planning to switch kernel in the next October patch that merged latest CAF tag by myself
October patches is here and time for a new update
Here's the changelog today :
- Merged latest October patch
- Using new source built kernel with some changes like :
+ DT2W
+ NFC fixed
+ Latest kona/11.0.0 CAF tag merged (LA.UM.9.12.r1-13200-SMxx50.0)
+ Updated simple_lmk
+ Wireguard
+ Westwood TCP Congestion, BBR is the 2nd choice.
+ Compile with crDroid clang 12.0.7 + LTO + Polly optimization.
- Fixed choosing refresh rate (both min/max) not showing up.
- Lineage's Gallery got replaced with OneplusGallery (preparing to port OneplusCamera soon)
- z-order FOD combining with the new source-built kernel fixed a lot of problem relate to FOD.
- Fixed WARP Charging not visible.
This update mark a major milestone with lots of new changes so I don't think that we are ready for OTA yet, but you can still dirty flash if you want. So go to Project Sakura now to grab the latest zip, have fun
(Note : there is a gappscore version in avicii folder, but don't flash it. PS team currently still encouraging to maintain only 1 variant so I choose vanilla. You won't get any new updates if you flash that version so again DO NOT FLASH GAPPSCORE BUILD)
Sorry for a long inactive time, but I'm back with January 2022 update
This time we will switch to @firebird11 device tree, based on what he did in crDroid. A lot of thanks to him because not only the tree is good, but also it provide a very cool thing : Oneplus Camera. Yes you heard it right, OOS Camera is here in the ROM, there are some feature is lacking or even unable to use unless SELinux is set to permissive but it's here.
The rest of the changes are nothing much, there's Dolby Audio but I tried to use it with my DAC but I don't like it, you can try them if you want.
Anyway, here's the changelog :
- Merged January patch
- Migrating to @firebird11 crDroid device tree, which include :
+ Dimension update
+ Oneplus Settings tab
+ Dolby Audio
+ Oneplus Camera (partially working)
+ 5G Mode Switcher
- Firmware update to OOS 11.1.7.7
- Latest kona/11.0.0 CAF tag merged (LA.UM.9.12.r1-13800-SMxx50.0)
Also in this build, I cherry-pick a commit on system/core to fix f2fs degradation thanks to this tweet by arter97. The commit has been merged into PS main source and we are the first device to have it
And due to the fact that a lot of people can't install Gapps on this ROM, I still compile Gapps-Core version alongside with Vanilla, but remember, I won't make OTA for that version, only Vanilla
