Here is my situation:
I'm currently stationed in Europe, Poland to be specific. I use my Inc2 in GSM mode with a local carrier. After rooting and flashing CM7 for the first time, I noticed my reception getting significantly worse than before (And if not, it's pretty **** in the first place.)
I an attempt to remedy this, I flashed the newest .1111 radio from the Inc2 Development forums, unfortunately that not only didn't help - but resulted in a ~10db drop in my reception.
I figure that the "newest, bestest" radios (released by Verizon, correct?) are only there to improve reception within the United States, and a fellow like myself - looking to get the best possible reception within Europe - should start looking for an alternative.
I'm hoping somebody here will have had some experience with maximizing reception in Europe.

Custom Roms have different behaviors when it comes to GSM according to each Rom
try flashing another Rom , i suggest :
Andybones stock ( Based on the Latest OTA ) , it is not de-bloated , Note that latest OTA originally included the Radio you installed 1111
rmk sense ( the first release from Verizon ) and it is de-bloated
Both of the above Roms are Original Rooted firmware
do a super wipe before installing the Rom
choose GSM Only mode ( not the global mode )
if signal don't improve try
adding your carrier APN through APN settings manually
or you can Backup the APN's included in CM using APN Backup and restore from the market and restore them for one of the above roms , then use APN manager to activate your APN
Please note that this will override Verizon Global embedded GSM APN , Don't try this before trying the Roms with Verizon Global embedded GSM first and see the results
Hey folks. I'm really tempted to get the T-Mobile S4, have it unlocked so I can take it to AT&T but I know at some point I'll be doing custom roms and probably radio upgrades since they come out once in a while. But will doing any of that break the SIM unlock? The one I fear most is probably radio upgrades but I've never moved a phone to another carrier so don't know all of the implications. Roms I doubt will be an issue but anyone know or have previous experience? At worse I have to keep calling T-Mobile to get it unlocked again if radio upgrades mess it up but I'd rather not be calling them all the time and if it is a problem then maybe I need to rethink this a bit more.
No, when you unlock it, it will be permanently unlocked, even you restore to stock rom, flash any other rom, radios, recovery or anything to OS or software related.
Before you flash a rom, make sure to try it in another provider with the factory/stock version, so you can make sure that the phone is working fine since the beginning,
T-Mobile S4 (SGH-M919) has a lot to offer in connectivity such as LTE Bands 1/2/4/5/7/17; in HSPA+/UMTS: 850/AWS/1900/2100MHz and finally GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz, so it surely will work on the AT&T network.
While the AT&T S4 (SGH-I337) only has LTE: Bands 1/4/7/17; HSPA+/UMTS: 850/1900/2100MHz; GSM: 850/900/1800/1900MHz.
For unlocking your T-Mobile S4, here is the link to the new T-Mobile Unlocking Policies: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1588. I bought my new S4 recently and they declined to unlock it before the first 40 days (postpaid) and before the first 60 days (prepaid) and there are certain other requirements to comply.
Lucky for me I found a trick on this forum to unlock it without the subsidy code (since my requests were rejected), it worked flawlessly and even I restore or flash any stock or custom rom, the unlocked state stays permanently because it's based on the NV system, just don't mess up with the NV base system.
If you want a phone with full LTE bands coverage, go for the M919 and it's bootloader unlocked from factory unlike the AT&T version which is bootloader locked. So, you can't go wrong with this model.
In terms of performance, the international version I9500 (without LTE support) is faster than any other S4 with SnapDragon 600 processor, I tested it myself since I have both I9500 and M919, the I9500 is octa-core (4-core of 1.6, and 4-core of 1.2) but only 4-cores work at the same time, in order to have a better power management, but even works in 1.6, it's a little bit faster than the 1.9 from SD600, i noticed on the graphics performance too.
And custom roms and other mods will come thru time for this specific model, just be patience, I have my M919 working with a non-US carrier sim card and installed custom rom Wicked v2 and it's working fast and stable.
I hope this info help you to decide!
Cheers!

OTA Updates After Changing Radios
Hey guys, so I'm kind of noob at this but I do have some experience and is just wondering about a few things.
So i flashed the GPE version last night only to find that it booted correctly and everything but just could not find my local mobile network (Starhub I live in Singapore). So I went on over to do some research and I found this thread and decided to try it out, and as I have bought the phone in Taiwan, I went ahead and downloaded the Taiwan radio.img, replaced it with the one inside the original non rooted RUU and flashed it onto my phone again. This time I could get signal and everything. So here's my question, if I were to get the Lollipop OTA update from Google, will it mess up my radios again? And if it does mess up my radios, what can I do to fix it back? And will it even let me install the new OTA update?
which is best?
I am using an international version of htc one m8 and i flashed the att radio 1.19 getting decent signal but wondering if the dev/att 1.16 radio would be a better option. I have s-off and superCID and i am using the LiquidSmooth ROM but other than that i don't know what to add that would help new to the ROM game but would like to achieve optimum signal with my phone. Also if it helps i am using an ATT sim card for my carrier and i am in the US if that helps best determine radio for the optimum signal strength then cool thanks for any help and comments, to my most likely silly question.
Trying to put a radio back on my phone and got to the part where i enter this command dd if=/storage/sdcard0/radio.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p20 it comes up with this error 1|[email protected]_m8:/ $ dd if=/storage/sdcard0/radio.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p20
/storage/sdcard0/radio.img: cannot open for read: No such file or directory
Dropbox 404
Hi I'm trying to download Radio for BS_US002, however it keeps giving me Dropbox404.
Could you please fix the link? Or it's just my problem?
The radio that gets flashed with graffixnyc's 2.12.1700.1 RUU is 1.14, but I've noticed a few people mentioned the latest as bring 1.21. My question is probably stupid, but who has used that RUU with a different radio then what it came with on the AT&T network ?

I m using sprint htc in india with gsm, but i get poor signls. Which radio i should flash to get better. I tried flashing wwe and att. But phone started restarting. Didnt worked for me. I m s-off. Super cid. Changed model id
att one m8 in slovakia
Hello. I am using htc one m8 Att in slovakia and I am loosing signal. I need right radio. I tryied GPE,DEV,WWE radio. how radio I must use?

HTC One M8 WWE
Hi I have HTC One M8 WWE, base band 1.22.21331147a1.29g_20.67.4196.01_f, rooted device but I can't S-off and SuperCID, because firewater doesn't work and Sunshine can't hack my device. So I want to flash to Verizón GSM Radio, because it's support WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 MHz and LTE 700/AWS. I need it for LTE in Peru.
What I can do?
Radio for TMobile on GPE
I rooted my AT&T HTC One M8 and installed GPE Lollipop. With AT&T radio I was getting 2G and 3G at my place, with GPE I lost all of that and I do not have any TMobile signal.
I am thinking about flashing the radio with a TMobile Radio ROM to get at least some signal back.
I am S-Off, Rooted, and I have GPE CID/MID, fastboot says the software version is Official (not tampered).
Anybody with any experience with this path? I have a Note 4 also and it sees 4G signal here. Note 4 has all the LTE bands supported and TMobile mostly uses band 12 (700MHz-A) here, along with Band 2 and 4.
What are my chances of getting the TMo signal back on HTC?
I see a bunch of questions but no answer but here's my go at it...
Can someone tell me which radio is for AT&T 4.4.3 and if it's safe to flash on 4.4.4?
Radios/WiFi Q's and Issues
Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster. Just wanted to say, thanks a million times. The posts here have helped me through a lot of nasty situations with phones. Here is my current issue:
I have an ATT version M8 (please excuse if I don't know correct terminology for everything).
I am S-Off and rooted. I was running the latest ViperRom with no issues. WiFi and 4gLTE worked, though LTE was spotty. I just rooted to the latest SkyDragon 5.0 release however and now I have lost WiFi and LTE (just shows 4g).
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to correct this issue? I have unlimited data but I would still like the best LTE signal possible and the option to use WiFi.
Thank you all, in advance.

Did you do a wipe of user data before switching ROMs, or did you "dirty flash"?
I'm running Dev Edition 4.16.1540 firmware, and the SkyDragon Sense 7 ROM, and its running flawlessly on AT&T.

I did the full wipe. I think most of my issues come from the fact I am starting on an ATT phone and loading it with TMo software. I read some posts about just downloading new radios, but I am not sure if that would work. It may fix my LTE but wouldn't effect my WiFi issues I wouldn't think.
For the record, before this, I settled on the Venom rom because it was the only one that worked with both WiFi and LTE. I can't track down why that is though.

Flash the WWE version of SkyDragon Sense 7, not the T-Mobile. WWE version is working perfectly for me.

You did no research. You shouldn't have bought that phone.
Verizon is cdma. Telus is GSM.
I'm on Telus as well using WWE/International firmware.
Telus/koodo and bell in Canada are also a CDMA/gsm company. This phone should have no problems with telus/koodo. How is the wwe firmware do you see a difference in signal. Is your phone root and are you using any custom ROMs.

Click this link, and scroll down to "So can I use my Android device on other networks?" (Actually you should read the whole article. It's quite informative.)
I'll quote the second paragraph from there for you here:
First off, if you have a CDMA handset (the lack of a SIM card is a sure fire indicator) from Bell/Virgin or TELUS/Koodo (that isn't a world phone) or from the US (Sprint/Verizon), it is impossible to use the phone on a Canadian network other than the one it came from as Bell and TELUS does not allow the import CDMA devices from outside their network.
I'll say it again, you didn't do proper research. If you would have bought a GSM phone, you wouldn't be having this issue.
The link also has a chart that shows the compatible carriers for the different bands/frequencies that are available.
I own the HTC One M8 16Go gold Asian version, phone is rooted with ElementalX kernel but stock rom. My phone works with 700 (b28)/900 (b8)/1800 (b3)/2100 (b1)/26000 (b7). I had the TW Mobile carrier in Taiwan. I want to add frequency bands to enable 4G LTE in Canada. Most carriers work with 1700/2100 (b4).
So how to add these frequency bands?
You need s-off ($25 by sunshine app) to change radio baseband (which changes band support).
You can flash AT&T or T-Mob US firmware to change to the corresponding baseband (both support Band 4 LTE). Or the correct Canadian carrier version's firmware; if you want to, and can find it (ATT and T-Mob are probably easier to find).
But you should also verify what bands your carrier uses for 3G, and that the new baseband supports it.
In my experience, AT&T has past or current associations with some of the Canadian carriers (still has partial ownership in some); and the networks share a lot of similarities. So AT&T firmware may be the best bet.
I installed Sunshine app but can't perform any test because it says Xposed Framework has been detected. I delete it but still the same error.

Try to restore the stock ROM, then root and run sunshine.
One thing to keep in mind, its not guaranteed that you will have LTE even with the proper baseband radio firmware. I've seen a number of folks that were not able to get LTE, even after s-off and flashing the proper radio firmware (that supports their carrier's LTE band). Don't know the reason for this, and never saw a solution. But just want you to be aware, in the event you spend the $25 on sunshine, and still can't get LTE.
But the fact that the Canadian networks seem to be very similar to AT&T, leads me to think the AT&T baseband radio will work for you. Not based on any specific/exact experience, just a hunch. So don't come and yell at me, if it doesn't work!
