I just got my Pixel 2 XL couple days ago, still haven't put my SIM to use as my daily driver yet too busy. Anyways right away out of the box I updated to 8.1 then rooted it following Max Lee's guide, using Magisk, and the latest official TWRP Recovery, and then setup the phone the way I like.
Anyways past few days phone's all good no issues. Then tonight I started playing with it after work, I open the Google Play Store and it keeps force closing for no reason. I then open Magisk, it asked me to install Magisk Modules, I say yes, phone reboots, and now both Play Store and Magisk force close every time I open them.
I went back into Recovery, wiped Davlik / Art cache, then flashed Magisk 14.5 again, rebooted, and phone stayed on the white Google load screen for 15 minutes. So I forced a hard restart and it booted up fine.
I tap Google Play Store app, and it forced closed again. I tap Magisk and it forced closed. But other rooted apps working fine like AdAway and Titanium Backup no issues.
So ?????
Just make a factory reset and install magisk again using guides in the forum
Cheers ?

I changed my Find 7 to run in unified storage mode and flashed the nameless rom. It booted and worked fine. I then flashed the official Xposed Lollypop zip and when I booted I get the "Google Partner Setup Stopped Working" error. I hit okay and it goes away. When I tried to install the Xposed APK, it said finished but said it didn't install. When I install an app fro the Play Store, I get the 504 error code. I've cleared the data and cash on both the play store and play services. I've rebooted multiple times. I did earlier try the experimental Xposed on this rom and it was stuck in a boot loop. If the rom is incompatible, I can use another rom. Not too picky with roms. It needs to support unified storage though. 2GB Isn't enough space for apps. (What was OPPO thinking?)

I'm not sure if you figured anything out by now but I had the same exact problem. I was on nameless 5.1.1 with xposed armv75. In the past week I noticed my phone was getting laggy as hell on nameless in the last few updates. Rebooted because of the black screen of death I was getting and when I got back into it I had app updates but they would never download. I doubt you're still go through that but if you are or angry one else reading this is just a stunning to not waste your best time. I tried it all all. Error 504 no matter what I did. I flashed euphoria and haven't looked back!
I was facing the same problem and I fixed by doing a Wipe cache partition with TWRP, I don't know why but that fixed the problem.

Looks like your Play Store is uncertified. Clear data and cache for Play Store and try hiding Play Store in Magisk then reboot. Hopefully that solves the issue.
Same thing happened to me a few days ago. Clearing cache/data didn't work. What did work was disabling the app (it uninstalls updates and reverts it back to the factory version), then re-enable and you should be good to go.
I've hidden it in Magisk but I still get uncertified; doesn't bother me though since everything seems to be working normally as far as I can tell.

You sir are a saviour! i was facing the same issue and had tried a lot of stuff like deleting cache/data of the play store, removing and adding the Google account but nothing worked. I disabled and reenabled the Play store and its perfect now (on Android P DP4)!
So I'm on the latest firmware, fresh flash with magisk, flash kernel, and xposed installed. It was working fine before but now it showes only what is In the attached screenshots. I have force stopped and cleared data from playstore, play services and play framework, as well as removed my Gmail account and rebooted and re-added my account. But it won't fix itself. No magisk add-ons or xposed modules should have any affect on this.
I've used the market doctor feature of Titanium backup to repair market links in the past. You could try that

I had the same issue after I had to clear thev data of the Playstore.
For me, nothing helped: I tried to delete my Google account and set it up again, I installed the newest version of Playstore and Play services from APKMirror and I tried some combinations of this.
The only thing which solved the issue was a clean install. I won't mess with the Playstore again
I had the same issue and i tried literally everything. The only thing that solved it was a factory reset. Also keep in mind that since that occurred any of your actions are not backed up in Google.
Ti backup fixed my playstore links, no need to factory reset
You just have to get the play store to be certified. Here is a quick guide that I wrote myself. It has worked 10 out of 10 times for me as well as my friends. Hope this helps. ?
To get playstore back to being verified. Long press the Google play store icon. Go into app info. Clear data, and data cache. Also hit disable...it will ask you to revert back to factory settings. Hit yes. After that enable playstore again. Reboot the phone. Once you reboot the phone...let it sit for a minute or two for everything to load. After waiting...open up playstore and do not touch anything. Again wait a minute or two for it to register your device. I usually wait until my screen turns off which is a minute. After you waited long enough, check to see if you're verified. If you're not...you have to do the process over again (clear cache, data, disable, reboot, etc) Just make sure you wait long enough this time.

I'll be a monkeys uncle. That worked, thanks!
In my case tibu didn't do anything but I never tried the disable method. I'll keep that in mind in case I hit this wall again.
Hi,
hopefully I'm on the right side.
I own a Galaxy S9 with custom ROM from "Bodhisattva" Oreo 8.0.
Everything was normal and went perfect for ~8 month now.
But since yesterday, my apps at the playstore do not update anymore, they are all in a endless queue, it does not start to download.
I then deleted the cache of playstore and Google play, looked back into the app, but nothing changed.
Then I deleted the data of the playstore and all apps are gone, obviously, but they are not loading back.
It's like I wouldn't have installed anything for the playstore.
After that, I deleted the playstore with titanium and downloaded the newest Google gapps 8.0 arm64 and installed it over my recovery + dalvik reset, everything went well.
Started the playstore again, but still no apps to see.
Now I have no clue how to fix it, without a complete wipe of my phone..
There is 1 little thing more, it's maybe connected, but I doubt it.
I'm not sure how long exactly it's ago, maybe 2 3 or 4 days. But I installed a app and after that, I got the message, that the playstore wants the permission to search for hostile data through my apps from time to time (sry it's translated from what I remember). I surely denied it like I always did.
I'm not sure, if I updated something after that.
How can I solve this issue?
thanks!
Out of nowhere I can't install or update anything on my G8 anymore. I figured it had to do with a magisk module so I disabled each and every module except for lsposed through zygisk, to no avail. My next step was to disable all of magisk clear all the data/cache on play store, play services, package manager, and download manager. That still didn't work. So I factory reset losing magisk altogether, still nothing. So I hard reset through recovery still nothing. I also repeated clearing cache/data after the resets. Has anyone else came across a problem like this and has a solution? Sometimes the error when installing an app is package not installed as it appears to be invalid. Yes, I am sure I downloaded the right apk. In the play store it will download to 100% and as soon as the install starts it just like resets like I never hit install. And on updates it will download 100% then stop on the update and it says couldn't update. I'm pulling my hair out here.
On a side note I had to drop twrp last week do to it being stuck on the twrp splash screen then restarting to twrp and doing the whole thing over again. Eventually I couldn't even boot into three os so I refreshed my original boot.bin that I patched with magisk previously
Edit
I installed aptoide and when trying to install am app out said I stl had root permission. And when trying to clear cache through recovery it throws an error art me. Nothing specific just says error. I guess next time I'm at my pc I'll reflash my boot files through qfil and try a factory reset afterwards.
Edit 2***
I was able to install the gta v ifruit app from apkmirror so my little niece could play with chop but even though it installed, when I open the app it says downloading application data failed. Anybody have a clue on wth is going on with my phone. I haven't restored factory yet because I'm kind off curious as to what is causing this problem. I was able to randomly install an app from the play store today after a data clear and restart. I'm thinking I true wipe/format isn't possible without twrp because this factory recovery isn't cutting it.
