Firstly install mixplorer(needed selecting custom ringtone) . Then, go to the contacts and long press on the contact you want, click on edit. Finally click Set ringtone on 3dot menu and choose the mixplorer. I do not know an easier way.

Use any file explorer app then copy your own ring tones into the Ringtones folder in the internal storage. They should now show up in the ringtones list when you are assigning one.

Hello my friend, if you want to use a mp3 file ias a ringtone in your BA just copy the mp3 file to the my device>>application data>>sounds folder with your file explorer.then go settings>> sonds and notifications>> notifications>>incoming call choose teh mp3 as your ringtone. That's all man
I put my ringtones in the Windows/Rings folder and they all work in there.
is this possible?
yes depending what feature you are in trying to copy and paste.
try vito's "copypaste".
I find it very handy, althought it doesn't work in every app....
Here you go:
Info --> http://vitotechnology.com/en/products/copypaste.html
Download --> http://vitotechnology.com/en/products/download.php?ID=1867&BID=24
Hope it helps you.
Cheers!
6.1 has a copy and paste feature. Y have him download a program. lol
Well, Mikey, I thought the 6.1 copy and paste feature was restricted to some of the MS apps that come bundled with OS and not system wide...
If it's not, would you be so kind to teach us how to use it/enable it system wide?
Thanks in advance and cheers.

Guys in 6.1 you do not really need to enable it, it is built into the ROM if you are for example in a text message and have written a whole bunch of stuff that you would like to copy click the "menu" button the click "6 copy/paste" then "select text" select the text then click menu again and click copy and do the same for paste. Hope this helps

For those who have problem with ringtone loop, here is the simple solution to fix it
1. Download and install Audacity (source: audacity.sourceforge.net)
2. Open the ringtone file in Audacity (like mp3/wav)
3. Select Open Metadata Editor from File Menu
4. Add a new tag : ANDROID_LOOP and set the value : TRUE (see the attachment). Then click OK.
5. Select Export from the File Menu and select the Save As Type format as Ogg Vorbis Files.
6. Save file, then copy the new ringtone file (.ogg) into your phone.
Enjoy it
PS : I re-write this thread because i have trouble with non looping sound for my phone ringtone. After search in xda, i got the thread how to fix it, but it's hard to find, so i repost it. Hope this will help everyone with the same problem with me

I can't seem to find the ringtones in my phone (E4GT Sprint running dastin's Wild For the Night 2/8/13) I've looked in \ringtones, \media, etc. on both "sd" cards as well as searched for .mp3, .m4a and .ogg files and have only found the hangout_ringtone.ogg and a facebook ringtone. Am i doing something wrong?
Thanks!

maybe you could find it in system/media, but your phone must be rooted first.
difficult process..
Hi all!
First, I'm registered now with pleasure because I like this forum, congratulation!
Now I ask for a problem with my Galaxy Note 2 N7100 with "Pacman 23.0.0 with Halo":
I created the famous directory to contain all my personal ringtones, and after reboot, I can't select any my personal mp3 sound because see only the system sounds.
Follow all my directory structure/tests:
Code:
/sdcard/ringtones/
/sdcard/media/ringtones/
/sdcard/audio/
/sdcard/music/
I try to insert an optional external sdcard but never change...
Something wrong?
Thanks
Regards
Daniele
If I'm right it should be
sdcard/media/ringtones/ -> for your ringtones
and
sdcard/media/notifications/
and so on...

Thanks for your reply, with S. Google I've been found, more or less, the same information but never work for me.
I thinking to edit some configuration file to change the environment variable path for media folder but this is only an idea and I don't know the right config file to edit.
Another work-round could be create a symlink.. I know move in a linux-like system but not know enough android..
Can some expert confirm or deny my idea?
Hi,
I installed lineage OS yesterday on my Nexus 5 (Hammerhead).
I added some mp3-files into different folders (Alarms, Notifications, Ringtones).
Inside these folders are olso .nomedia files, to hide them from my "MX Player".
But I can't choose them in the settings.
Now I have a own explorer "File Manager".
When I now set a different ringtone, I was asked if I want to open via filemanager or via mediastorage (Medienspeicher in germany).
Via the file manager I can now choose the Ringtone I want.
After that I only see unknown ringtone in the settings.
Am I doing something wrong?
best regards
Andreas
