Dost stock rom support guest mode or multiple-user feature - Moto Z Play Questions & Answers

I cannot find clue if the stock rom (MM or Nougart) support guest mode or muliple-user feature.
If yes, I will buy one

It does support both, at least on N.

KCal for screen calibration?

I'm wondering if it is possible to run a kernel with KCAL support on a Verizon-functional ROM such as Viper.
Specifically, LeeDroid kernel has support for KCAL but LeeDroid ROM doesn't have support for Verizon devices yet.
Would flashing LeeDroid kernel work on Viper or stock-based ROM?
If anyone wants to know, I would like to run the m9 KCAL (to compensate for the poor stock color calibration) at the same time as with aptx support (I don't know of an AOSP ROM with support for aptx in the audio stack).
So, KCAL + aptx, I wonder if its possible?

Unfortunately, I don't have an m9 to try it out on. I was thinking of upgrading the the m9, I'm just trying to figure out what this thing is capable of. If LeeDroid ends up supporting Verizon (stated that there has been no time to implement Verizon support in the thread), then it might be good to go.
One problem is that I believe a logcat is required to verify aptx support (and must actually connect to an aptx device, AFAIK), so most people probably don't pay attention to whether aptx is working.
Stock ROMs work, but every single AOSP/GPE ROM on the m8 doesn't support aptx (I checked with Catlog app).

The kernel may work on a Verizon ROM, while he works on support as well.
Interesting. I can see if its working on a few ROMs if wanted - just need to know how. We don't have gpe, I wish there was a m9 gpe. But cm13 is stable.
Stock sense ROMs are nice as well

Flashing to stock ROM

I have recently purchased a Lenovo K8 Note and have discovered that the normal software does not support Wifi calling even though my carrier supports it (my previous phone worked great!). I assume this is something that Lenovo decided to exclude from their official releases.
If I flash to the Oreo stock ROM mentioned in this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k8...p-flashable-stock-oreo-rom-lenovo-k8-t3809572
will that give me a pure vanilla Android ROM with no Lenovo tweaks (i.e. Android as shipped by Google without any modifications)?
If not, can somebody tell me if that ROM has WiFi calling enabled? It should show a button under "WiFi preferences" under "Network & Internet > Wi-Fi" menu if enabled.

MIUI-Pro ROM(V8) ported For msm8916 & snapdragon 410 devices like LYF Wind 3(LS-5502)
Hey Guys!
Its Amit,
I recently decided to bring back the dead soul of my old phone with the help of custom ROM's.When I searched for my phone i.e LYF Wind 3(LS_5502) on google i came with no result except for the TWRP Recovery.
By the way, my phone's i.e--LYF Wind 3(LS-5502) android version is lollipop V5.1.1. It's running stock android provided by the LYF company till then no updates,no security patches and no-nothing.
Then I decided to port ROM for my phone with the help of millions of tutorials and guide & also with intense work.
I finally had made a stable custom Rom-----MIUI-Pro Miui 8 on top of lollipop-V5.1.1.
It has following features:----->
VOLTE Working{Added option to turn on and turn off volte}
All Miui 8 Features
Wi-Fi & Hotspot Working
Bluetooth
All sensors working
Gesture-Anywhere feature
Animation Control
small DPI
feature to disable buttons
Themes Working
All System app extra-customization
Added feature to import third party themes
Notification customization
Home-screen customisation
Mi Account{Working}
App Lock
Dual Apps
Weather Mate(M8) intead of normal weather app
Volume Boost
Rounded-Corners
Dolby Atmos Pre-installed
Pre-Rooted
Mix Explorer
Jeejen Home
Chinese Bloatwares Removed
One-Handed Mode
And many many many many many more
*But I faced some bugs like this which i was not able to solve.:--------->
Camera
I was not able to completely port camera.
When I start phone everytime(power ON), and open camera it work for a slight second(upto 4-5 seconds)but then after it says ''can't connect to camera''. And after it whenever i launch camera app it says the same.
Except Camera this ROM is smooth and very much stable than the stock one.
I'm using this for quiet a month and had felt no issues
It had better battery backup, batter RAM Management
If any dev is seeing this please help me solving th camera problem described above
And here is the link for the miui pro ROM :------->
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mo7cfWtFoAymOrrHShRSCBZP-0f9XGVv/view?usp=drivesdk
Note That Gapps are already included.
Procedure for Installing ROM:-------->
1) Download the ROM
2) Boot to twrp and wipe data, system, cache
3)Install the ROM so simple.
4)Enjoy!

Minimalist ROM with microG support advice?

Dear all LG G7 users, I would like to create this thread to discuss about ways of using LG G7 with all the basic features working and without Google Apps and Services.
I have a EU G7 with latest firmware and updates (Android 10) This is what I am looking for:
Working USB Tethering Hotspot and WiFi hotspot
Working Gcam
Working Bank Apps
Working microG
Good GPS signal
AOD - Always On Display (if possible)
DT2W - Double Tap to Wake (if possible)
I see there are a few ROMs like LineageOS 18.1, Dot 5, and others. But I am unsure of which one offers the stability I am looking for (not customization). It is ok to use Android 10.
I have downloaded the file from LG to unlock my bootloader, so I am ready my goal is to get rid of Google, and I am aware that with stock rom, even if I like it, it is not possible.
Thanks in advance for everyone who will join the discussion.

I thought custom ROMs based on Android 11 did not have USB tethering. So not even Android 10 based custom ROMs have it? That's strange that a paid app like PDANET allows USB tethering

Because the app itself allow it through their own method. its not using android's implementation. And no, not even android 10 roms have it working on g7
Hi there, I am still here, trying to find a way of minimizing the Google impact in the stock ROM.
Could someone please update me if a custom rom has USB tethering working? And if the answer is still a big NO, is there a way to debloat or degoogle the stock rom via unlocking bootloader and root? Ideally I would love to replace Play Services with microG, or at least remove Play Services while keeping the phone booting. Any advices are appreciated.
EDIT: seems like this is a viable option for me, anyone tried? : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-degoogle-any-device-and-install-microg.4058743/
For other searching here: I just installed AOSPK from Emanuel (telegram group) and it is Android 12 based. Here USB-Tethering works out of the box and the ROM does support signature spoofing so microg can be used right away.

Question Getting wi-fi calling to work

I have enabled wi-fi calling on the phone (5G version). The feature is enabled with the mobile operator. However, it does not work. The operator blames Xiaomi and claims that they have not fully implemented this feature on this specific model.
Can someone confirm or deny that this feature is not working with Android supplied by Xiaomi?
If indeed the operator is correct and Xiaomi is to blame with not implementing wi-fi calling, will I be able to activate it by installing an 'independent' Android OS?
Thanks
Don't start another thread, just ask directly in the custom ROM thread.

Before installing custom ROM, I would like to verify that the MIUI of Xiaomi does not indeed support wi-fi calling.
Poco F3 with Wifi Calling is working properly here. I can make and receive calls in Airplane mode with WiFi enabled. Your mobile operator should have this phone added to its "supported" devices list.
