Hi,
Has anyone any idea how to restore my Galaxy Nexus to original without using USB?
I have a Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2.2. The USB doesn't working, however when connected to the power it recharges the battery but turns the phone off.
I can not use USB connection to computer either because the phone switches off immediately.
The phone has been rooted and I can access the root section when the phone turned on and I can upload any file via SMB.
I just need some info on what to do to restore the phone to it's original condition and so remove the info on rooting.
Please don't send me info on any external USB connection because I've tried it all and it does not working.
Thanks

You can use adb over network via developer options.then it is possible to restore stock and lock your phone by using wugs tools from pc.

Thanks mate for your help but I have no idea what are you talking about. Would you be kind enough to explain it for me?

Thanks for your info but I forgot to tell in my first post that the fastboot mode is not working. The phone shows the Android icon when I press the volume up+down+pwr buttons but it turns out once I release them. So I have to upload the files wia network from my computer but I don't know what files and what to edit....

You don't need access to fastboot if you have root.
Install ROM Manager from the Play Store and use that to install CWM. The just flash the zip in the post i linked to. (Flash a superuser zip right after as well if you want root.)

Did you try a different USB cable? I had similar issue, and drove me crazy for several days. The issue was the cable.
Note that the cable was working fine to connect a galaxy s2 to PC, but failed to connect the GNex

Worst case, download mobile Odin via play store. If u still have root access then your good. Search for latest gnex stock image(its available to public in its original form made for restore purposes or manual upgrade) keep in mind this wipes everything. While using app ensure ever root is enabled otherwise you'll lose root. The stock image should be in tgz format or something similar. Extract it to your SD card, it will give u a folder. Inside the folder is a bunch of files( possibly a folder within a folder, been a while for me). When using mobile Odin u manually select the boot.IMG system.IMG radio.IMG user data.IMG so if u know the problem u can choose just what u need. Sounds complicated as hell but its really simple. I figured this to be a temporary solution as my laptop had no internet to download need files to restore. Only problem is Mobil Odin isn't free about 4 bucks I think. But well worth the money

Under developer options is option "adb over the network", so if you select this your phone will get ip address and listening port and then you can access it via your computer on that specifics ip/port.

Unfortunately the restore process didn't work from the ROM manager. It just stuck at the restart and didn't do anything. I will send it back and let's see what Samsung will tell me.
Thanks for your help anyway.

As per usual when changing ROMs, you need to wipe data (in most cases) for your device to boot.
I smashed my screen on my og, and the touch no longer works. I bought a new og, but would like to know if I can mount the storage while in cwm so I can get the info and such off my other one before I send it away to get fixed. I know I can do it with twrp but can't get twrp on the storage to flash it lol catch 22 any help would be awesome thanks

Could I push twrp through fast boot and adb? I forget the process but used to do it a lot back in my x10 days

if you already rooted and unlocked the bootloader, yes, you can.if not,you need too push first freegee and unlock it.this will add twrp to your phone.
i'm not sure, since i don't know tlandroid/adb very well, but i think you can pull files from the phone via adb.maybe a more experienced user can confirm this or not?
oh,forgot, you need to grant adb root acces first.so,if your device is not rooted and you don't give adb root acces...
another thing, why din't you try using the lg on screen phone?you can command the phone via pc,using mouse and keyboard.this way you dob't have to do all things i posted above.pff...simple solutions come hard

I can't use the touch screen at all, when I connect USB it just connects in charge mode. It is bootloader unlocked, and rooted. Already has clockworkmod recovery installed on it, but I don't think it's possible to mount storage to PC through clockwork like you can on twrp, so am hoping someone can guide me on how to push twrp to phone through fastboot.... unless the control your phone through your PC could work not sure how to do that

If you connect the phone, can you see it in ADB?
if you can see it in adb, just pull the files you need.
Hello,
It my 1st post, Don't know if this should be posted in Q&A or General. Please bear with me.
I recently brought Nexus 7 (2013) Wi-Fi 32GB Model and had it Unlocked and Rooted through WugFresh Toolkit 1.8.0.
After Rooting, the Nexus 7 was not detected in my Computer as MTP device but as ADB Phone and I tried uninstalling and installing the drivers. Switched between MTP and PTP to try if it detected, but no use. Used USBDeview to remove related USB listings from My System, Rebooted and Nexus was again detected as ADB Phone...
Tried Debugging Mode with it enabled and disabled.
I went to Recovery Mode on Nexus 7 and by accident instead of doing factory reset, I wiped the whole (System, Data etc...).
Now Nexus 7 just shows Google Icon with bootloader unlocked when powered ON.
Is there a way to restore Nexus 7 to factory default. Please kindly help.
Thanks,
Amruth
Can you get to the bootloader and use fastboot? If so: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2469508
Just substitute the names in the last few commands for the ones of the latest image.

On phone: go to TWRP-Advanced-ADB Sideload and start sideloading. Connect to PC.
On PC: use command "adb sideload *PATH-TO-ROM.zip*" to upload and flash the ROM subsequently.
