Hi guys,
I recently got the OP5T + bundle with the glass protector.
So I just installed it with multiple tries to align and remove dust(they were already under the protector before I opened them).
I just want to ask if anyone have the same troubles as me.
1. Both edges still has air bubbles that doesn't go away (see images)
2. The protector crops away a minute amount of display. (only on some webpages/apps it's obvious)
Any advice for me, like should I change to a new protector or all protectors are like this?
i have also a dust particile in glass too.after using for 24 hours i removed it and ordered some plastic one like that pre applied.

Yes, I just installed mine (OEM) with a lot of care, but the issue was in the part where you peel off the back of the tempered glass, I saw some glue was left there and now looks like air bubbles but that is happening because there is no glue there, very poor quality tempered glass.
I installed mine perfectly but I had to use tape to remove a lot of dust to get it perfect. You should follow the instructions in their official installation video, you are supposed to use the plastic case that comes with your 5T to help align the protector, if you do that the protector will be aligned perfectly.
I don't have any bubbles anywhere, I do believe yours is defective or you might have damaged it during installation.
The cropped pixels on the sides are expected, yeah it sucks but overall the protector's quality is pretty good, it feels just like the original glass on the phone.
The video is here: https://oneplus.net/ca_en/oneplus-5t-3d-tempered-glass-screen-protector
It indeed feels, and looks, great, after proper installation.
Biggest gripe is the loss of responsiveness though.
Keep on having to double click and swiping the navigation bar down again and again because first touch(es) is/aren't recognized. It's really bad in that regard.
Shame about the price or I would have exchanged it immediately.

Yes, it's the worst (overpriced) screen protector I have ever had. Safe? Sure. Finest? Hahaha lol, next! :good:
The first one I had gave me responsiveness issues but I installed a second one is perfect with no responsiveness issues at all

Going to use the preinstalled until I can't stand the smudging. I did order and have these (you get 2):
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077NK8KYM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
They look real nice (just like the 1+ ones), probably install one in a few days.

Has anyone found one that actually fits properly? I purchased a pack of clear illumiShield and the dimensions are so far off it's comical.
I've tried several tempered glass, all have a halo..... I've also tried several of the "skin" ones, they are all so close they hang over with any use of the squeegee and then peel off pretty fast.
I ended up going with a "stiff" clear plastic one, like what came with the phone....But they leave about an 1/8 inch gap on the sides, which I can live with until I find a good tempered glass one.
I just tried the screen protectors from Skinomi, plus a gold carbon fiber skin; It was bright gold and didn't match at all. The fitment for both the screen protector and wrap are perfect.... I just can't stand a wet-applied screen protector. They do feel smoother, but there is always an orange-peel effect and the corners of these types of screen protectors tend to snag too easily and peel up.
TL;DR Skinomi wet is currently the only way to get full coverage.
The search continues...
I've purchased a couple of no-name glass ones on Amazon and there is a clear 1mm gap on each side *after* the tapered glass. If there is one thing I'd like to see happen is the end to the "2.5D" or whatever this beveled glass crap is called on phones it's annoying. These damn pocket computers are too expensive not to have some more time taken into building them to withstand day-to-day abuse.

I completely agree, aside from the fact that "2.5D" is a really stupid name for a radiused edge.
Every single one on Amazon has 1 star for not fitting. Kinda sucks.

I vote for Skinomi. The screen protector is full coverage, there isn't a gap at all that exposes glass. I love wet installation, I can always get it juuuust right.

I tried it, sent it back.
It's cut so exact to size, that if you squeegee it any it stretches and hangs over the sides and peels off in a matter of days, sometimes just hours. If it's in a case, the case pushes on the sides and bubbles it up even quicker.
I thought I was alone with this frustration, but a couple other people have PM'd me they had the same issue with it.
I guess if you're patient, don't squeegee it too much.......and buy through Amazon where you can return it, it might be worth a try?

Wrong thread to ask if you should move from Axon Mini to 7. But anyway, this glass protector seems to be pretty good so far.

Yes only the black border has adhesive but I haven't had issues with touch or anything. The black border gives it a nice look too. Capacitive buttons get covered but I've already gotten used to where they are located. Probably the best glass protector you can buy right now and I'll be sticking with it until something better comes out. Glass vs plastic feel is just no contest.

I've tried 6 screen protectors and finally found one without any issues. #5 was a zizo and it fit but had a stupid rainbow and the top corner randomly broke in my pocket after a month.
I bought this one on ebay. It covers the whole screen, fits perfectly, has a curved screen, no rainbow, air bubbles, and doesn't lift up at the ends. I'm finally happy with my screen protector

Sorry, the only way I have to take pictures is with the phone itself in a mirror (not terribly useful) or with the web cam on my new laptop which of course is of an awful quality. Here is the best I could get...
Would be nice if you use a friend's phone and take some pictures of the screen protector installed. I'm not being rude and appreciate your attempts at photographing it, but honestly they're pointless as they show us nothing

UPDATE: My Supershieldz TGP arrived and before heading out of town on business I installed and can confirm NO HALO. This is not just a Zizo close. Been using it for a couple of days now and while there is still smudging it's not as bad as the Zizo. I'll try to post some photos using my 6p when I get home

U can't see anything in those pictures.
I've ordered a zizo and a couple of the others that look the same and I'm done. All the ones I get smudge like crazy and have the rainbow effect.
I'm just gonna wait until there's a definite consensus on one that doesn't have those issues.
I'm currently using an Armor shield wet protector and it's pretty good for plastic. Better than the glass protectors as far clarity/smudge resistance but the glass is obviously better as far as feel goes.
Anybody knows a good matte/Anti-Glare screen protecror that covers the whole screen?
I pried my wife's iphone 7 plus out of her hands long enough to take these.
Is there adhesive on the clear part of the glass? Not just on the black trim. That's the cause of the oil spill under the screen. No adhesive to hold it tight to the phone like the clear tempered shields.

Are the Oneplus 6T screen protectors compatible with the Oneplus 7? I mean is there any change in screen display size and shape, the screen bezels? The thing is there aren't any good options yet for the Oneplus 7 yet. So if the screens are the same, guess I can use 6T screen protectors with Oneplus 7. Which ones are you using for your Oneplus 7?
They should be the same. I ordered a tempered screen protector and the description said that it fits both 6T and 7.

Hello,
Agree with you, miss at least 2 millimeters on the edges! (i am French !)
This is what I have on my screen currently.
It's as full as you can get it but you have to add some sort of liquid around the edges once applied and then the next day it looks fine.

Whitestone Dome makes a full-screen liquid adhesive tempered glass screen protector for the Oneplus 7 Pro. It's pretty sweet.
I personally think their screen protectors work great. They are a bit pricey, but so are the other big-name brands... At least they give you a limited lifetime warranty so you can replace it multiple times if you drop it and it cracks.
It is even 20% off right now for another day or two.

Guys what is the best screen glass for OP7?
I ordered a SUPTMAX screen protector from Amazon. It said it was for the one plus 7 but it doesn't have full glass coverage. But something is better then nothing.
SUPTMAX OnePlus 7 Screen Protector
I'm using OnePlus 7 official 3D Tempered Glass.
In my opinion this is fantastic! ?
Protects your all screen, very smooth and touch responsive as well as case friendly.
It's little bit costly but worth to have it. ✌?
I think it is worth to check 6T glass as they should fit model 7 as well.
The official one is too expensive 20€..
For 14€ you have Orzly Twin pack for 6T.
Are you able to put a case on it and not interfere with each other? I'm thinking of getting the supersheids Tempered Glass protector. It looks like the official one. Probably my best option in the US.

Nope! Cover as same as OnePlus 7 comes with pre applied plastic flim!
Complete edge to edge protection!
I put Orzly for OP7 and I'm super happy about the quality, edges etc
Are you guys taking off the factory screen protector? I switched out to a SuperSheildz and it is definitely not as responsive as the other one. It's almost like there is a thin layer of air.
I'm using this Omoton one https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07KCWKZ3W/
Very easy to install due to the frame it comes with, plus a spare if you **** up. It's no expensive whitestone dome that everyone goes gaga over, and as reviewers mention there's a prism effect on the edges, but it's many leagues better than the factory fitted plastic thing. Fingerprint seems fine as well after re-registering, I've had a couple of misses but had one or two before.

Less than a millimeter gap on each side. Real estate that isn't important. I purchased a Nillkin tempered glass screen protector made for the Find X2, but it diminished touch input (I had to press harder on the screen to get it to work). The OnePlus 8 is much better.
The pre-installed plastic screen protector on mine is getting a bit worse for wear. I'm not sure what route to go down with replacement (currently using a case). Tempted by some more plastic protectors - but then I'm not sure how bad this would deteriorate the actual screen 'experience', as you would imagine that a screen this good needs to be 'unhindered' by cheap protection.
Any suggestions?

I already got the glue one, gonna install it tonight and will tell you how it feels in 2-3 days
Okay, my impressions after installing it. Quality related is very good, same as Asbellt I'd say, probably the best screen protector you can install on Oppo find x2 pro nowadays BUT really important to avoid the mistake I made:
- Level very well the phone before using the glue, the rear cameras will make the phone unstable in the surface and the glue will fall across the screen, use the plastic protector or something to level the phone, or with your hands or whatever but this is very important, I could have installed it a bit better than I did because of this.
- Also, this screen protector doesnt cover 100% of the screen like the Asbellt one did (at least with One Plus 7 Pro). This one covers around 85/90% ratio of the screen, I find it more than enough but still important to say because this was disappointing for me.
Anyway I'd recommend it, its not perfect, I would have liked it to cover 100% of the screen, not 90%, but im quite sure this is the best screen protector you can use on the phone, touch fidelity 100%, like if there was no protector, it will definitely protect your screen from drops, only the protector will break, I say this cause I have a lot of experience with these glue protectors, I bought the One Plus one like 3 or 4 times (2 years of drops and the screen is as the first day, like just taken out of the box) and well, to sum up, the screen protector is not perfect, I'd like Asbellt to produce one themselves but in my opinion this is the best you can buy at the moment.

I have installed the same one. I would like to add.
I also made a mistake when installing it, did not realise they give more glue than needed (Last UV one I installed had the correct amount of glue) also the top speaker is very close and on a curve so be careful as you could get glue in it.
The UV light quality is very good.
It also comes as Pack of 2 so I have another shot

Definitely not, from the package contents there's no glue meaning the protector only has adhesive applied to the edges, this ruins screen sensitivity, fingerprint sensor accuracy and makes annoying clicking sounds in the corners

From the comments i read on Amazon us they do have glue ans UV light thats why
Title says it all really, I just unboxed my 9 Pro and the pre-fitted protector feels really thick and makes swiping feel like it is through treacle.
Anybody else?
The complaints with this phone just keep growing
Not really a complaint as I will just remove it, was just curious.
Oh no man not saying you're complaining...it's just seeming like oneplus rushed this release a bit
If I decide to keep the phone, I'm removing the factory installed screen protector. I agree, swiping isn't great, and it seems to sometimes interfere with fingerprint detection and get me locked out of apps.
Factory installed protector feels fine to me and I appreciate having it on there while available accessories fill and round out a bit.
I really have no complaints about the device. The single issue I have is that it wants me to install the latest update again, but it can't... so I just hid that notification for now.
I usually leave the factory fit protectors on but this one feels like it dulls the touch response a little, either that or it's fine and there is afault on the phone itself (doubtful)
Like the phone mostly so far, only negative is they removed DC dimming, when did that happen?
Feels the same as oneplus 8 pro, but I hated that factory one. It peeled quick on the edges. My oneplus 7 pro never peeled. Overall this phone seems to work just fine. People will always complain. Don't like it? return it! You have options, it's a competitive market.

If this is similar to the oneplus 8 pro, I kinda preferred it. It wasn't as bad as that atrocious z gold 2 screen protector and it is way more scratch resistant than other pre-installed ones. I haven't checked it out yet. Still waiting for my case before I take it out of the box, lol.
Every oneplus I have had that came with the factory protector just sucks, its not slippery to allow your finger to glide across the screen, so I always remove it and use it as is.
Yep took mine off, with the smoothness and also the rather sharp edges catching all the time with edge swipes it was annoying. Bought the Spigen NeoFlex TPU protectors and they are junk too, edges don't stick down so will come off or get dirty quickly. (Sending them back)

Is the swiping and touch response better with it removed?

Yes it's as good as any other phone now, screen is nice and smooth with no mistouches or bad responses.

T-minus hours or days until the mysterious scratches start to appear...

The stock screen protector was thick and peeling off for me, so I switched to Gadgetshieldz screen protector which I've been using for 3 months and I like it. Since It's a very thin film screen protector, so I can't feel it on my display and it gives good protection against scratches.
It maybe down to the individual and which batch your phone is from, I've still got the factory screen film on the phone and using it with a ringke fusion case. I'm glad I kept the screen protector on as it's had a few scratches, some are quite deep from where I've put the phone in a pocket with keys! I now make sure I avoid doing that.
I dont agree with this. My first oneplus was 3 and it took some time to even realise that there was screen protector at all. And if you can look past that op is very lazy releasing sources its not a bad device at all. My op8p had terrble display and changed it was it like 3 times..
The whitestone dome feels like the original screen and is very nice if you can install it without any bubbles showing. I recommend installing it by hand without the little frame it comes with.

I'm having the exact same setup xD Factory film and ringke fusion case is a sleek combo. Although the factory screen film is peeling off already it's protecting from scratches, thats what I need, as the case is covering the rest! Amazing setup bro!
