Hi,
i have this problem: on the lineageos (for S4 mini, lte) downloads page only sha1 & sha256 check-files are offered. But via TWRP only md5 files can be checked.
Why this mismatch?
How can I have TWRP check sha1 or why does not lineage offer md5 files?
And further, there are many apps that calculated sha1. But none that I found can do an auto-compare against a .sha1 file (with the same name as the checked-file). Any suggestions for apps that can do this?
Regards, Ronald

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Official LineageOS thread for your device.

@revt3949
I think the redtit is a better place to ask.
@Ibuprophen
This is definitively not device specific

I had read the question a bit differently...
@revt3949, This can actually be a 2 part question.
1) The Lineage Team used to provide both the md5 & sha below each of the downloads. After, approximately 3-4 months +/-, they decided to remove the md5 and has only provided the sha. So the question for Lineage would be more of "why was the md5 removed knowing that TWRP only verifies the md5".
2) The question for the TWRP Team would be more of "Why hasn't the Recovery been updated to allow for sha verification when the Lineage Team no longer provides the md5 checksums".
If someone was to explain how to get an md5 to create the file, then your answer would be "that's not the question at hand. It's the ability to verify the only checksum that's provided for LineageOS within the TWRP Recovery".
According to the following TWRP link...
https://twrp.me/contactus/
There's 4 ways to ask the TWRP team a question.
1) Via the link above.
2) Via Google Plus (https://plus.google.com/communities/106804207647688456928)
3) Via the devices Official TWRP XDA thread.
4) Via the submission of an Issue through the specific devices Github tree.
I wish you both the best of luck!

I own a LG d620r (europe) with LINEAGEOS 14.1(BUILD 14.1-20171128-NIGHTLY-g2m) combined with supersu and have some issues while Booting.
When I boot the Phone, i get the regular boot animation. After about 5 Seconds the Screen brightness goes down to about 10%. Same happens when I use Chainfire LiveBoot. How can I change the brightness during boot so the LiveBoot output becomes readable to me?
Brightness change is not affected by the SuperSu-Binary, also happens with clean Lineage.
Thanks in Advance.

1) On the first post, select the bottom left triangle (reporting a post).
2) When the next page loads, select the reason on drop down section (at the bottom left of the text area), then select the one that states "Thread/post moving or maintenance".
3) If it's because your question was simply answered, then type the reason within the text area. Something simple like "Can you please close this thread because my posted question has been answered." (you can also tell them that "Ibuprophen is awesome" LOL!).
4) Finally, select the "Send report" and you'll then be taken back to the thread. Your all set!
The report is then listed on cue for a Moderator. It typically takes anywhere from 10 min to a day or two. The Moderators are very good and are pretty much on top of things.
Reporting a thread isn't intended as a bad thing. It just elevates having to send call-outs and PM's to a bunch of Moderators till one is available.
You've now graduated from the "Closing a thread 101" course! LMAO!!!
Good Luck!

Hi
I hope this is the correct area for this question?
I am having a go at building crackling for the Wileyfox Swift (1). I have set up a Unbuntu machine for this purpose as per the instructions on the Lineage website.
The problem I am having is downloading from git.
All goes well for a while, but then I start seeing -
Fatal: Not a git repository: /home/Ubuntu/android/lineage/.repo/projects/external/guice.git
The last folder and file in that string vary.
I have tried git init but that doesnt help.
What I am doing wrong?
Regards
Tubster

Here's just a handful of Guides available on the forum and I believe that one or more of them will be helpful for you. Don't be afraid to ask for some member guidance within one of them.

Thank you for those links :good:
Unfortunately only one of them mentioned the problem I have, but it had a solution that didn't apply for me.
My problem isnt the setup (I think), as I have copied exactly the instructions on the lineage website.
Most of the source does download, but there's a few dozen areas where it fails with the above metioned error.

I have never created a ROM but, here's just a few guides for doing so that's probably your best place to obtain some member guidance.

What is the proper way to request features or report bugs for a given ROM (e.g. Xiaomi Mix 2). I saw a maintainer name was listed but there's no way to contact him.

If you go to the following LineageOS link...
https://download.lineageos.org/chiron
... at the top of the page (under the words "Builds for chiron"), select the "Device info" and it takes you to the following link...
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/chiron
... scroll to the bottom portion of that page and the listed "Maintainers" reflects "@mikeioannina" as the Official Lineage Team Maintainer for your device.
Fortunately, this individual has the same member name, as follows, on XDA as well.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=3839575
With that stated...
The only thing that I can guide you to is the following Official Lineage Link that reflects a way to either Contribute and where to ask for support.
https://www.lineageos.org/community/
You now have all the information on where/how to contact the Lineage Team and the individual via XDA and the above link.
I hope that I had explained this okay via text...
Good Luck!
