Tried that no fail.
Ok i'll do a video, i dont think i ve a buggy browser
I have had a few problems with force closes. And the text doesn't fit to the screen when I zoom in. I've tried adjusting the settings still no luck. Anyone else have this problem. I use dolphin hd browser.
There's this one function found both in the default web browser and Dolphin browser that I really would like to just go away. Maybe it's called zoom redraw, maybe it's called smart positioning or smart fit or something, I don't know.
But when you zoom in to a particular part of a web page real far, it seems to want to redraw or refit the page. This bugs me because I feel temporarily lost. I always find myself wishing that the view of the web page would just "stay there" right where it is as my fingers spread. But, sure enough, I lift my fingers from the screen, it shifts the page a little up or left or down or right and this is ANNOYING. Because what I have to do then is zoom in in small incriments so I can see where I actually am and make movement corrections for the zoom redraw and zoom some more.
It doesn't HAVE to be this way cause I notice that Xscope browser doesn't do this. Now, I like Xscope a bit aside from a few things I can't get used to. But my default browser at least for now is Dolphin. Is there a way to stop this from happening in Dolphin?
If you do the about:debug to get into settings enable "gep zoom" I think that might be what you are looking for. Hope that helps ya out.

This is right. This will disable the reflow after pinch-zoom. It will still reflow after double-tap.

Can you elaborate on this please? about:debut? Don't see about as a menu option and when I type in about:debug in the url field (firefox style), nothing happens. Hoe exactly do you do about:debug in Dolphin Browser?

Not sure about dolphin, but try anyway. They way it works with stock browser is put it in address bar without the http, and press go. It will seem like nothing happens screen stays the same, press menu button and go to settings, if it worked then you will have more setting options than usuall, now scroll down untill you see "gep zoom" and check the box. You might have to do this in the stock browser to get it to work and hopefully the setting will carry over to dolphin. If it doesn't maybe somebody that uses dolphin can chime in. try out and report back, hopefully it works for you.
about:debug does work, but resets when the browser is shutdown.

Wonder why? It doesn't with the stock browser...do the settings carry over from stock to dolphin? Try setting it in stock, and see if it works in dolphin. Probably not though since it's different software..
SUPER BuMP!
I would LOVE to know if there is SOME WAY IN HELL to get this done. i cant STAND having it redraw after pinch and zoom. if you want to re justify text, you double tap, thats just the way it is. everytime i try to zoom in on a button to hit it, it moves 3 screens worth of scrolling over. very annoying. This or finding a way to get the stock browser.apk to work in an htc kernel/rom would be just as good. ive looed up certain ways, but most dont work anymore or never worked in the first place.
about:debug is really working, I love you guys!
@ms79723
What do you mean with shutdown? The browser is never really shutdown, or not? I mean Android 2.2 keeps it in the background?
So i've been reading that google chrome launches in portrait mode on the right side of screen. I can't see the close button to close and reopen it so that it launches in landscape mode. The same thing happens after I installed 1MobileMarket, launches sideways in portrait mode. Is there a setting on the fire tv to fix this problem?

Figured it out. It has to do with the screen settings, changed to 1080 P 60HZ and everything showed up fine.
Get this app if you want to force landscape mode...
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bong.android.androidlock
The only downside is when your Fire TV has been restarted manually or by a power surge/outage,you will have to select landscape again within the app to force it again.

Modules in XPosed that do it also, without having to redo it after reboots.
Where is that module?!
Please tell me.

I went into xposed framework and found the module. Forgive the newbie in me..but i see when i highlight it, it shows me support, source, and respository. I dont see an install button. How do you install this? I went back to xposed module and reinstalled it, but I dont think that did it. Will this change my 1Mobile Market to the correct landscape, because now all i see is it in portrait mode to the right of my 16:9 aspect 1080P TV?. Thanks for your help.

how did you change your screen setting??? mine are grayed out can't change...
What kind of TV and resolutions do you have?
I have a Polaroid with 1080P support and all is fine.
I can switch between 720p and 1080P.
There is no 1080i support,so crappy Sylvania TVs will only use 720p mode.
I also just tried the landscape module, but it just force closed kernel tuner when trying to view CPU settings.
The app I linked to does NOT cause it to force close and displays it in landscape properly.
I think it does not even need root either.
Too bad it does not keep settings on restart,I should ask for an update.

You need to use a mouse and slide the screen to the left, then there is a box that you need to check. Then after that you need to go to the modules part and click the box to turn it on, then reboot.

losing your mind maybe? lol I know auto rotate won't work on TW when you are home. I have NOVA launcher and it works just fine.
nova settings, look & feel and screen orientation annnnd BAM!

yeah, I know that.. I actually had nova on there, but I did not have the "screen rotation" quick setting enabled, so nova wasn't doing squat.. fortunately, I got help from @sweets55 and that was all I needed!
landscape issues
I'm also having this problem but I shouldn't have to replace TW with Nova in order to view my photos in Landscape mode this is the first phone I've ever owned with this issue also in order to watch a movie I've downloaded on my phone in landscape mode I have to turn off screen rotation then hit the screen rotate option in the video app that is only available to you if you turn off the main screen rotation setting this is utter insanity
If I try and view the Internet in landscape mode it locks there and the only way to get it to go back is to close it completely
this has got to be a software problem because I had the techs at the Sprint store check the sensors and they are working correctly
Samsung needs to get an update out like yesterday
Hi Guys,
I've been trying to figure out how to force the rotation of lockscreen into landscape.
I have tried all rotation control apps, paid and not. However, I can't find what I was looking for.
Ultimate Rotation Control provides near what I was looking for. It can force the lockscreen rotation to any orientation I wanted,
however, once I set the rotation of lockscreen to force landscape always, everytime I unlock my tablet, the home screen which is
locked to Portait was displayed as Landscape for about 2 seconds.
I was thinking that if, it is not only an app. If, it was edited thru the internal system applications, it will provide the smoothness
that I was looking for.
I already tried to edit the framework-res, I still can't find the XML where the lockscreen can be forced to landscape.
Several nights browsing Google hoping that some articles are already there to teach how to edit the lockscreen but I can't see any.
Due to my work overseas, I was not able to focus on this. But now I'm somehow pissed and I wanted my tablet to be the
way I want it, to look the way how I wanted.
Can someone show me the right path to where I should start? I don't mind if it would mean that I should study Android as I am a
software engineer, but just a beginner in java.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Kemaro
I'm using Rotation Control to force landscape. So far so good. Haven't noticed any problems and all apps like Instagram are forced to landscape without any issues.

Why is your lockscreen displaying in portrait anyway it's a landscape device and should display as landscape natively? :what:

The lockscreen of Tab S is always on auto rotate. It is not natively in landscape.
I wanted it to force landscape always but only the lockscreen. As for the home screen, it should be auto rotate.

I'm sorry but that's not what happens on my SM-T805 using Phoenixrom.
The Lockscreen and Homscreen stays natively in landscape and doesn't rotate at all.
I can use a rotation app to auto rotate the home screen, but the lockscreen stays landscape no matter what.
I don't remember it being any different on total stock.

You have the 8.4 version? That is a portrait device. I just assumed it was the 10.1 because you said landscape.
