Photo Sphere on 5T - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
have you tried the Google Camera yet, are you able to take decent Photo Spheres with OnePlus 5T?
Thanks,
A.

Installed Google Camera from APK Mirror, and the app always closes. Found this thread by looking for a solution. I like taking photospheres and that was working just fine on all previous Oneplus devices. No luck with the 5T.

[SOLVED] Photo Sphere capable camera

on my old Samsung (CM13), I used to have Google Camera app installed. I have used it only for Photo Spheres, as stock camera app was good enough for everything else.
Google Camera got device-related limitation in recent versions, so you cannot install it from Google Play directly unless you own some Google device. so, I just went to APKMirror and found some 3.2 arm64 apks.
so, on OP3 Google Camera 3.2 works, but when it comes to capturing Photo Spheres, it becomes really slow. each tile takes 5 - 10 seconds to take, while old Samsung used to capture it 10x faster.
is there any way to fix this or do you suggest any alternative Photo Sphere camera app to replace Google Camera?
thx.
+1 for this topic. Also, Google Camera is not able to focus manually...
Hi,
I currently ran into the same issue. I used the GCam a lot on other devices to create photospheres. But with the OnePlus3 this is nearly impossible. After focusing on the next blue dot the cam need 5 seconds go take the picture. I currently couldn't figure out whats the problem is. Any help would be appreciated.
Edit: Attached google-camera.log. Log created while using Google Camera and taking a photosphere (not complete).
I can confirm the same problem arises when taking photo spheres from within the app Google Street View. Has anyone found/made a fix yet?
I'm running Google Camera v. 3.2.045 on CM13 (nightly 0816) and photosphere works exactly as expected. There's maybe a second delay when hovering over each guide dot, but that's what I remember it always being.
fixed in OOS 3.2.2
photo sphere works as expected
I dont think Streeview spheres work

Anyone here that has noticed a big delay when taking a photosphere or panorama with google camera? I use Resurrection Rom. A faster camera app for this would be nice.

Google street view work fast with cm14 or cm14.1 (and probably with cm 13 but i don't have try it). If street view works slowly you have to use google camera (you can download from apk mirror) for take photo sphere or panorama picture. When take a picture with google camera you have to turn on "save position" in settings. Then you can upload in street view.

Which version of Google camera works for Cm14.1? I was having problems with nearly all of them starting and then closing right away.

The problem with the Google Gamera App is that the higher pictures (when you point up) come out of focus It is not a problem with the camera itself, I can take pictures pointing up outside of the photosphere setting.

Camera app with working Slow Motion for custom roms on One Plus 3?

Any camera app with working Slow Motion mode on custom roms?
I'm running LOS 15.1 rn and I've tried slow motion on Google Cam and OOS Camera. None of them work.
Any suggestions?
I to am looking for an answer to this. I had tried a few custom ROMs but came back to stock (well open beta) because of the camera.
I tried Google camera mod and it has the slow motion (with audio!) And HDR+.

But Google camera slow motion doesn't work for me. The camera freezes.
Where did you get the Google camera app from? I honestly don't remember how I got it. I'll have to have a look. But a quick look through magisk and there's a "Google camera fix" module. Maybe try that?
On oreo Gcam slowmo don't work.
You can install nokia camera work but not the same quality of oos camera..
the Nokia camera port have a working slow mo on Oreo...it's a little buggy but mostly works, search in the forums you'll find it.
Have you found any slow motion camera that works on Android Pie? I've tried Snapdragon Camera which crashes now but worked for Oreo. Nokia Camera is able to switch to slow motion mode, even save the recorded video but the output is the same as normal video.
Did anyone find an answer to this? I've heard that the OnePlus camera is on apkmirror and that could work..

Camera app with fewer glitches for LOS 17.1?

I tried Open Camera, and... Don't record...
I tried some GCam APKs and dont record too...
The stock camera app is a sh*t, the photos seem taken with shi**y phones (but... It can record)
So... What is the best camera app (that works well)? Or some GCam APK that works fine?

Well, the devs can't do anything about it (give that a read: https://www.xda-developers.com/came...opers-make-hardware-work-without-source-code/) The best is Gcam 5.1 - it is the only thing that seems to work almost perfectly. All later Gcams can't record video. Other camera apps (like Open Camera) should record videos, but sadly since the April builds it's broken. The fix is already in the code for the next build but as of now there is no next build. Wait for it. Other issues you will have with non-Gcam or stock cam:
- 2 photos without reopening camera (or going to gallery) is broken
- On low light photos will be s**t. Not because quality - but... well, it looks funny; and green. And horrible.
My recommendation for photos: Gcam 7.2 (when you aren't on Lineage or crDroid, with disabled HDR+)
My recommendation for videos: Nothing, they are broken in the current builds. When it's fixed anything except Gcam.

None, the only real solution is LineageOS 14.1, the cam works perfectly in it.

Question Camera app?

Hi,
Can anyone please take the camera .APK from the phone and any system app related to it and HDR filming...
I have the 10 Pro and sadly camera doesn't film in HDR, I would really like to to test installing 20 Pro stuff to see if there's any luck.
Thank You
guily
Guily,
You might have better luck with a GCam port, though there isn't a config file for any TCL phone yet, AFAIK. I've gotten good results with the ENG version from here.

Best camera app

Hi!
After installing Lineage OS 18.1 I started searching for good camera for daily usage. I first selected to use Google Camera, but I after 2 days I found that I couldn't do video on front camera. So now, I am once again searching for good camera. So my question is...
Thanks for this poll. Wondering the same. The default LineageOS camera is a bit on the slow side it seems.
Also wondering: MIUI certainly has proprietary software to handle image processing but how does LineageOS handle the different lenses? Or maybe it doesn't?
Poll so far: 3 votes for Google Camera, 2 for "other". Could the voters share which app their are using and why? Strangly not finding Google Camera in Aurora Store.
