LiNeageOS style unlock wheel ? - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I used to use an Amazon fire, with lineage OS installed. I really like the unlocking mechanism, it allowed me to choose if I wanted to unlock into messages, phone, the home screen, Google Chrome, or Any other apps that I chose to configure.
Is it possible to obtain this unlocking wheel on my Nexus 5X? Preferably with stock Oreo 8.1 and a locked Bootloader
Thank you for the help!

Official vs Unofficial Bootloader unlock (on Mi4C).

Hello.
I guess this is a question for the ones who are passionate about their phones, like me, more than a practical question, still, I see passionate people on this site and not only desperate ones.
I have a Mi4c, Android version 5.1 (Android 7 does not seem to allow for me to do what I do right now, I think, Xposed and what not). I applied for bootloader unlock permission, I've got it from Xiaomi yesterday.
Because this site gives such good guidance, I was able to easily unlock the bootloader before the official permission arrived.
What I ask you is this, does it make sense to (re)lock my bootloader via adb (and maybe flash a fastboot ROM) so that I can unlock the bootloader officially? As you know, the permission expires after a while, so it's now or never.
Right now my phone is working perfectly, TWRP, Globe ROM, Xposed. . .perfect.
What do you think, any advantages on unlocking officially?
Thank you.

Boot unlock with fingerprint

Just curious if anyone has tried to change the first boot unlock procedure so that it can be unlocked with fingerprint instead of a pin as I don't like leaving it on swipe.

The only way I know of is through an Xposed module but Xposed only goes up to Android 7. It's a safety feature google put into Android, there were some custom ROMs for the Nexus 6p that had the feature, so maybe we will see it in the future in a custom Rom.

why Google icon on power up?

Lineageos has its own system and boot image but when I first power up the phone, the Google icon appears first with the unlocked bootloader symbol.
I'm just curious, but is that Google icon coming from the bootloader? If so, is the phone's bootloader hard wired into the phone?
If I relock the bootloader will the phone still be able to install lineageos updates?
Thanks.

The Google boot image is called the Bootanimation. This can even be changed if you wanted to. The Bootanimation has nothing to do with the Bootloader.
Locking your bootloader up will prevent you from even having LineageOS installed. If you want to keep LineageOS, you need to keep the Bootloader Unlocked.
I hope that I had explained this okay via text...

Lock bootloader.

Hi! Does anyone know how to lock the bootloader?
Previously, I experimented with installing GSI (PixelExperience, Havok OS, etc.). But as it turned out, the original system is much more stable than the GSI (although I may not have found the correct GSI
I want to return the phone to the state it was before unlocking the bootloader. That is, now I have the bootloader in the "unlocked" state. And I want it to be "blocked". Thus, the phone will be almost in its original form.

Question Couple of questions regarding this phone rootability

Hello.
I am currently looking to buy this phone and flash a custom os, if someone could please answer them that would be great:
1) After unlocking and locking does the phone go back to Widevine L1?
2) How easy is it to unlock the phone's bootloader (is it as simple as fastboot oem unlock or similar?) and how hard is it to lock the phone's bootloader (is it as easy as fastboot oem lock?)
3) Do most custom OS's support Widevine L1?
4) If I lock the bootloader whilst having a custom OS how hard is it to flash back the stock OS?
Looking forward for replies.
Hey there!
1. I am currently rooted and it still says Widevine L1 (checked with DRM Info app).
2. I don't think there's a phone that has easier bootloader unlocking/locking.
3. The Zephyrus custom ROM, which I currently use has Widevine L1 support. I don't know about other roms.
4. Haven't done that personally, I know GrapheneOS recommends locking the bootloader for better security, but I am pretty sure it doesn't have to be permanent, and it should be fairly easy to go back to the stock firmware. Just remember not to lock the bootloader while rooted, as that would brick your device and it probably wouldn't be easy to fix.
Hello. For exact instructions on how to unlock the bootloader, click the yellow "How-To Guide" quick filter at the top of the list of threads in this section. You'll see three or more guides that include the subject.
