Titanium Backup & Magisk not detecting root - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

Hi,
I root my 5T with Magisk but Titanium Backup wont ask for root access.
I tried with stock rom and Freedom OS but neither works.
Root Checker says device is rooted, Busybox is installed too.
Any advices?!

Did you install the Magisk Manager app? Sorry if it's a stupid question but I've this asked before and it turned out the manager app was not installed...

app is installed

Solved it!
Installed another Busybox app, that solved the issue...

Which Busybox app? Did you re-install from Play Store?

Does Titanium back up Magisk properly?
Or do I need to reinstall it and configure it again everytime?

[Q] still no root acces

Hello Hox owners,
I rooted my hox a while ago.
Just before the latest update came.
To get the last update, I needed to go back to stock recovery.
This went well I thought but since I have the Wifi problems i was looking at my phone closer and saw I got the stock recovery but SU app still installed.
I want to gain root access again, remove the superuser app, and unroot it fully because I need to send my phone back for repair soon (I hope).
The clockwork was installed succesfully, the latest version of superuser as well, update binaries also flawless but somehow still no root access according to es filemanager and titanium backup...
What do I need to do to get this fix?
Thnx in advance!

Maybe those apks were denied permissions for some reason. Try going into superuser & clearing all app default settings & reboot.

Thnx for the reply but no apps are visible inside SuperSU.
Titanium was installed after I "rerooted" my hox.
There is no clear cache option inside SuperSU, right?

Can you get root checker from the market. & confirm that the Su binaries we installed correctly? If that app says your rooted then maybe try clearing superuser data. & reopening your apps.

I have a rooted phone. I have SuperSU. Do I really need Superuser and BusyBox?

Hi, I have a SONY XPERIA S rooted, and I have SuperSU after root. Now do I really need other apps like Superuser or BusyBox? Or Superuser it's the same thing as SuperSU.
Can i use the phone just with SuperSU or those apps : Superuser and BusyBox are a must ?

You don't have to install Superuser because you already have SuperSu. Busybox is very useful and many apps depend on busybox so it is much better to have busybox installed. But usually, most rooting tool kits [like DoomLorD's] even install busybox if my memory serves me. So if you would like to know if you already have busybox installed, just check my signature for my app on Playstore

Oh that's great. Then you should have busybox installed too. Busybox is not an app and hence you won't find it in the app drawer. It is an all in one executable file which contains a variety of commands [linux commands] like cp, mkdir, touch etc. It is located in system/xbin or system/bin.

Use "Root Checker Pro.apk" to check superuse & busybox is correctly installed.
Download the pro version of root checker or buy , your wish.
Busybox is required for some mods to work.
I use Xperia Ion, i need busybox for clockworkmod to work properly.
For u it might help in some other mods.
Thanks. Helped me a lot.

And another thing. What other apps are a must for a rooted phone? Like : Greenify, RomManager [Not working for me, reboots my phone when I try to make a backup ROM ] , DroidWall, Nandroid Manager,Better Terminal or any kind of terminal ? Are this useful or I may look for other apps ?
I don't have any of that. Lol

Well Titanium Backup is a must for all rooted android phones. A good file manager which can modify system files (like Root Browser by Jrummy) is also a must have app. There are many other useful utility apps which utilize superuser access like adb wireless, terminal emulators etc. Each app has it's own function so depending on your needs, just search for playstore and I am sure that you will find an app which suits you the best.
Great, although Greenify it's ok because he can help you identify and put the bad behaving apps into hibernation when you are not using them.
Root uninstaller and es file explorer. Job done

If you are on ICS follow this method.
If you are on JB follow this method.
Before trying any of the above, do your own research. See if u have all the requirements before doing anything.

Done it. Download it, extracted the files, do the exact steps, everything ok, I see no change. The link you gave me for JB is [RECOVERY] CWM Recovery 6.0.3.0 for {JB} LOCKED bootloader and I have an unlocked bootloader. When Ienter in recovery with my phone it says that I have CWM v6.0.3.2

Can't log in Snapchat, problem (Marshmallow)

"Oh no! Your login temporarily failed, so please try again later. If your login continues to fail, please visit support.snapchat.com/a/failed-login ".
This is the message I have, I can't resolve it, I tried reinstall, uninstall whatever.... I'm not banned or anything.
They told me it could be because of the xposed.
Sent from my LG-H815 using Tapatalk
What is Xposed ? I'm not root at all.
So, no one know this problem ? I'm not root, and I've never been root.
This IS because of Xposed. Your only solution is to log into snapchat with xposed uninstalled then reinstall xposed. In a nutshell:
- Disable all modules > Reboot
- Uninstall all modules, then uninstall the Xposed installer App > Reboot
- Flash the xposed uninstaller via recovery or flashfire
- Log into snapchat with your xposed free phone
- Reinstall Xposed and NEVER log out of snapchat again. Or else the same thing will happen
I believe there's some shortcuts you can take in the uninstall process, but I prefer doing the cleanest method.
There is an alternative fix. And that's only if you have a backup of SNapchat with Titanium Backup. If the backup is from a time where it was working properly, you can restore the data only to get back in.
If you don't then I recommend making a backup so incase you happen to accidentally log out, you'll have an easier time getting in

That is correct. If you can, if you try to log in through another phone that is confirmed working for someone else (Such as an iphone or another stock android), does the same error message appear?
The only two potential choices I can think of is to do a factory reset, or contact snapchat support if you cant log in anywhere else as well.

I've just resolved the problem last night, I actually made a factory reset, and after I create a new Google Account when the phone asked you, and after log in to Snapchat, but now I'm using my older gmail account and my Snapchat still works, so it's cool !

I know the thread has pretty much come to a close at this point but as a person who uses Xposed and flashes many roms, all you have to do to log in is not have xposed installed when you log in. Modules (including snapchat modification modules) don't cause login issues!

here's what I do to make snapchat let you sign in. you need TItanium Backup for a backup and xposed uninstaller to temporarily remove xposed framework. snapchat doesn't want xposed framework.
1: uninstall xposed framework via recovery
2: clear snapchat data then sign in.
3. once signed in, you can back up the app+data using TitaniumBackup ( for future uses. like when xposed is running and if you're moving into a new rom or whatever )
4. you can now flash back xposed installer into your device. = profit

This is what I do every time snapperfs has an update. It'll help you log in as well.
Uninstall xposed framework. Clear cache, log into Snapchat. Take a backup of it using titanium backup and then re-install xposed framework. Restore Snapchat from titanium backup and viola you're signed in and working like it should.

I'm not sure about the patched versions of xposed, never used them but you can try to use the uninstaller found in the link below.
dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/
I use this and it works like a charm. Just put it on your SD card and flash it from twrp and xposed framework should be removed.
Note: you will still see xposed on your phone, that's the installer. It should say xposed framework not active when you open it up.

I believe that's the latest version for xposed. I personally am on version 87 and have had no issues so far.
I'm running the last cm13 nightly build that was available for Z00A.
The last file you see there is the uninstaller zip that's what you flash to uninstall xposed framework. Like I said before, you'll still see the app after you reboot but the framework won't be installed and Snapchat should sign you in.
What version of Snapchat are you on? Are you using snaperffs on xposed too? You might want to uninstall that before signing into Snapchat.
