Hi
I go next week to China and plan to buy a new smartphone. I'm a big fan of Xiaomi and would love to buy a Mi Mix 2, but I worry about the camera quality. The OnePlus 5T would be the other option. Which phone would you buy if the camera is quite important for you?
Regards
Michael
If camera were important I would buy either a Galaxy S8 or an Iphone 8. Both Mi Mix 2 and Oneplus 5T cameras underperform in low light condition. I prefer the Mix 2 design over Oneplus 5T's one. However, there is more ROM development for the Oneplus 5T.

I have to get rid of my phone and buy a new one in the next 2 weeks, I won't upgrade anytime soon so it has to be a SD821. which one of those two do you guys recommend and why?
As i can see, 5.5" size is important for you. In your position i go for OnePlus 3T.
Mi5s Plus, is a no go for me, that dual camera it's even worst than Mi5 camera because it's to much dependable of image algorithm where Xiaomi sucks.
It has oled 5.5", SD821, dash charge that it's better than QC 3.0 and super community support.
If Size was not important, all the way to Mi5s (not plus).
My vote goes for either Mi 5s Plus or Oneplus 3T. I think the software is better on the 3T (better international translations).
Dear All,
Please I need your suggestions as I am confused between Mi 6 & Mi 5s.
Whose camera is better? And which one is best for gaming.
The price for both are as below
Mi 5s - 250 USD
Mi 6- 350 USD
Thanks to All
Camera - Mi 5s
Performance/Gaming - Mi 6.
Read some reviews of 5s and 6 and choose what suits for you.
Mi6 looks good and performs better in performance and battery. for 100$ I would buy the new one.
But I have mi5s and I wont buy mi6 , its not a good upgrade for me.
Try to get both of them in your hand.
Also mi6 is very heavy, compared to mi5s
I would not buy a phone that does not have a jack for the headphones .... (srry for my English)
Neither get a Oneplus 5T,the Mi5s i got last Dec is still on MM no sign of even a stable Global Nougat build.
Hi guys!!I have an oneplus 5 8gb/128gb and i like it very much!!Does it worth to sell it and buy 5T?
Pls help me decide.Thank you.
Maby wait for the oneplus 6, I had a oneplus 5 but the oneplus 5t screen ratio is many times better.
Also no strange things when scrolling like the oneplus 5.
That is just it, If u want more changes just wait for the new Oneplus.
But only the screen ratio is it worth in my opinion.
Screen ratio seems awesome but i dont like software keys and back fingerprint scanner..What about camera?
Any other opinions pls?
Don't mess with oneplus 5

Wait for the 6 dude. No reason to change at moment. Same camera quality. Same phone with a gimmick display. Do not play their game. Waste of time and money. If you have cash to burn, go head, but, not worh it. Imo. Make the same Im doing: buy a Mi A1, sell your op5, save some money and get a pixel 2 xl an then sell the Mi A1 to recovery some money. Op5 and 5t become a dead phone, they will not be include on project treble, in orther words: probably no android p updates.
Hi Guys,
I own a redmi note 3 pro. It's an awesome mid range device but now I want to switch to a flagship device .
I am from India and I have two options Mi Mix2 or One plus 5T (64 GB variant)
I have read a lot of criticism of Mi mix2 camera as it lacks dual camera an not good (Portrait mode is missing) but I want to own a 128 GB device in this budget. (One plus 128gb variant) costs 5K INR more.
I like design of Mi mix as well.
Please help me decide between these two

I upgraded from the Note 3 Pro to the Mix2 and I don't regret it. If the camera is important to you just install the GoogleCam from the Pixel and you should be satisfied. I understand it improves the camera dramatically.

Camera isn't anything special and at the price point it's sold at you can't expect a great camera.
If it wasn't for the large display I'd go with the one plus

If you want an ugly notch intruding on your screen then get the Oneplus 6. The Mix2s is certainly an option but it'll be initially more expensive than the Mix2.

The 5T is a good phone but basically discontinued and without a custom rom it will never be updated again.
Xiaomi MI series vs. Xiaomi REDMI series = which line is better?
Everybody knows that Mi series goal is to be better than Redmi at least in specs and performance.
But how about performance to price ratio, how about all other things that You dont worry and dont expect in REDMI casue it's cheap but You do expect it in the MI series?
What are the problems/things that You don't like in MI series?
What are the problems/things that You don't like in REDMI series if there is any? WHY? Cause we all know not to expect wonders for a low budget priced phones.
I've talked to many people who had/have REDMI and MI series Xiaomi phones (clients, selllers, internet folks, friends) and they only agree on ONE thing -the price is great wheter it is REMI or MI phone.
A strange thing happens.... REDMI owners are always satisfied. The only thing that bothers not all of them is the camera quality.
But in low and middle price segment REDMI beats EVERY other BRAND.
Xiaomi has also great prices in the high end flagship models but here MANY PEOPLE are dissapointed.
For example camera quality, screen quiality, body, bezel, bugs, no NFC, no european B20 LTE band.
The MI users also tell me that non of the above bothers them but something totaly different. EACH person = an original problem with MI device.
Can You please tell me what are Your problems/dislikes with MI and REDMI devices cause I'm about to buy one from each segment?
What should I worry about (Android updates maybe?) buying a REDMI and a MI phone IN YOUR PERSONAL EXPERIANCE?
People who complain about camera quality on the MI Mix 2 are comparing it to flagships that cost significantly more--and that was before the price drop on the MI Mix 2. At this point flagship phones from Samsung, Apple and Huawei cost more than twice what a MI Mix 2 costs. If you are willing to spend $800-$1000 on a smart phone then you will certainly get a better camera. I don't expect a fantastic camera at this price point.

I'm sure the releasing Mi Mix 2S had something to do with that price. And BTW It should have equal cam quality like S9+ (DXoMark)

That psychological problem affects 90% phone users,
Redmi product line is ODM. The flagship models of MI/MIX are OEM.

If Mi/Mix are truly OEM, then who is the Client that provided Xiaomi the product design and specifications?
Hmm

In other word. MI/Mix are designed by xiaomi itself. Redmi is provided by a company called longcheer, even though xiaomi is holding much of it's share.

So in the long run (to receive updates for example as long as possible) it is better to buy a Mi rather than Redmi phone?
