Hi all!
When i'm receiving a notification, I didn't note it because the vibration is very low (with vibration intensity at maximum). For me it would be perfect that if the screen turns on to show that notification. Anyone know any way to do that? Thanks in advance.

I've tried to search something inside the config, but I didn't see anything. Do you know if the carrier hide some options?

I just got my phone yesterday and i seen it somewhere but i know i removed it with xposed. Try checking under the messages app.
I just got my new LG G4 and whenever I get a text message my camera flashlight will flash 5 times and it's really annoying.
Does anyone have an idea how turn this off?
Thanks for your help!

Try going to settings>general>accessibility>hearing
Disable the third option down. If that isn't it, I would check any apps you installed that effect notifications or accessibility permissions.

I have a smartwatch and my beautiful phone has also a notification LED. Considering this, I do not want to use the lock-screen notifications at all.
Therefore, I turned OFF the lock screen notifications from the "sounds and notifications" settings menu but even now, in case of a notification or event, the screen will turn ON briefly. If the phone is in my pocket during that time and I have a trusted device nearby (my smartwatch) then the phone will unlock by randomly swiping the screen with my leg (large shorts ).
For the past few days I pulled out the phone in different languages, or with the tethering hotspot active or other randomly activated settings.
So, the 1000 points question is: how the heck can I force the 10 to not turn on the screen on notifications? I have no root and I do not intend to install one (company policy). Is there any solution? Thx.
Interesting. My screen never wakes up to show me a notification, so I'm wondering if it's app specific? I know with Textra, there's a setting to wake the screen for each text message, but I have that turned off.
It's definitely an app you're using that's turning on the screen.
I want my screen to turn on when I get a text message Im annoyed It can't

Thank you guys. It was indeed app specific. After you posted this I started looking in all the settings from all the apps with notifications access. The guilty one was Nils. There was a small switch to turn on the screen, indeed.
Thanks again.

Hi guys,
i asked the same question in Custom rom topic but seem like people misunderstand what's i mention.
If you're using Miui8 (anyrom mod of Miui8). you dont set up fringerprint, but you just touch to that area, the screen will wake up. no need double tab, no need push power button. it's very conveninent . when you pick you phone up, your index finger always touch to that area, phone wake up.
But with other rom like LineageOS, RR... (not mod from Miui), maybe don't have this function or I can't find anywhere to active it.
Anyone know it? pls advise. thank first.

In other custom roms, all you have to do is first set up pin or pattern. Then add fingerprint. Change unlocking method to swipe instead of pin or password.

just tried RR, set up Pin and fingerprint. one touch wake up and unlock as normal.
But after that, I have changed to unlock to swipe as your advice, still can't wake up screen when touch to fingerprint area. it's not work.

No it doesn't. But you can enable the Always-on display function to see notifications icons when your screen is off.

yes. even allowing a picture on it
Not even does it allow a picture, there's a little menu where you can scroll through functions such as turning the flashlight on or off, wifi etc...
The always on display is interactive unlike the LG G7

That is even better!
Go To:
Settings > General > Apps & Notifications > Notifications >Brief Notifications > Sidelight
You can choose which apps you want to have the Sidelight Notifications for.

This is active only when received message right? Is there any option to have active unless I read the message?
I still have G2 with led for 4 years and I am really addicted
Most manufacturers have either phased them out already or are probably in the process of phasing them out. Its like asking for a removable battery. I miss them too but things change.

As someone else mentioned, you can enable side light so the edge of the screen lights up. If you go into the app specific notifications you can also enable the camera flash for notifications. I have this on for SMS and calls.
Hi guys,
Do we have an app that works for the LG G8 like Pulse Beat for the 6T?
And I see no option to wake screen when I receive a notification.
The G8 doesn't have LED Notification BUT it has SideLighr Notifications.
Settings>General>Apps& Notifications>Notifications>Brief Notifications>SideLight
You can choose which apps to show Notifications.

Yeah I know and it works well but once that is finished and I didn't see it I wouldn't know if I got a notification. AOD seems to be the only way round and I'm trying out Glimpse Notification from the play store as an alternative.
Hurray!
Trying out the sidelight now
