I found the smart lock did not work after root, no matter using beta magisk 14.5 or stable 14. I would like to make sure if this is a problem of my own, or a general case, so that I can decide whether to report this to the developers. Thank you.
I'm using beta 14.5 and when I open smart lock it asks for a pin and then shows a blank white screen. No options to add devices. I've been using face unlock so I didn't notice until I checked after seeing this.

Exactly the problem I have, so this should be a problem of magisk. I guess magisk is not compatible with 5t now, some other people report they have problem with their wifi after root (I also found wifi is slower).
I tried supersu as well, but it can cause a battery drain. So there is no perfect root for 5t till now.

I second that, it turns blank again after reboot. or sometime during use. So irritating.
I just found out that Magisk itself doesn't seem to be the problem.
I did a fresh install, installed magisk without any problem. The problem started after installing a module from within Magisk...
After that Smart Lock blanked out and removing the module doesn't change anything.

What module did you install? I seem to get this problem even with out magisk. Maybe twrp is the cause?

I guess I was mistaken... A later attempt I also got a blank screen after a while.
Not shure why. In the beginning it seems all ok also after a couple of reboots, but then after a certain time and a reboot it's there. again.

Just downloaded the game not a fan tho, Wanted to try. I'm on RR 7.1.1 Unified builds and magisk enabled. The game seem to be force closing all the time. A red Nintendo screen splashes and fades away. I'm not t=sure the problem is with the ROM or app itself. I tried clearing cache,Rebooting and all.
Anyone facing the same issue?
Anyone knows how to fix?
app is good. i got it on my op3 stock and it works fine. looks like its an rom related problem.

had the same issue , turns out it's failing a safetynet issue .
install magisk SU to pass safetynet issue and it should work fine.
See my sig, works with that system.

Yes did that too. My magisk passed safetynet also i tired hiding magisk for mario. Didn't help tho

its a problem with supersu root, if you use Magisk (you can hide it inside official app) won't have problems. I can play to Pokemon GO and SM Run without problem using it

Same with that, doesn't work..
I think it would be interesting to kow if ppl who say it fails to work use OxygenOS or something else. My configuration works for PKMN Go and Mario Run without ANY problems at all.

are you using custom rom? because some roms have root included and you manage it in developer options.
With Magisk configurated and included root turn off, you should play without problems

I use latest BJRR RR from Eliminater, wich includes by default magisk
Rooted systemless with magisk, safetyCheck pass, magisk hide enabled !

How to install Magisk on RR 7.1.1?
Hi! I have a one plus one and I am running Lineage OS 14.1-20170130 (7.1.1) and I can't play aswell.
I get the red Nintendo splash screen and it closes.
Running latest lineage weekly with zenith EAS 004 kernel and magisk and no issues whatsoever, I was able to start up the game and make a profile and play without any craziness
Update the magisk to latest version11.6 ! It helped me....

Yep, just tried with magisk and it worked. I found it on this reddit just after my previous post. At the r/LineageOS subreddit (the name of the post is "Super Mario Run came out about minutes ago, but crashes on start (Kenzo)" ). (I can't post urls yet)
Doesn't work on latest RR with latest magisk, safetyCheck pass and hide too.
I was on my previous install with latest RR AND superSU
I dirty flashed the ROM to remove superSU and work root with magisk
Is dirty flash is enough to remove superSU ?

Hi all,
I have installed Magisk 16.0 based on Maik93's post, and Xposed Framework SDK27 90.2-beta3 (Systemless), through Magisk modules.
When I enable the Xposed module, the phone first shows endless boot animation, and when restarting it again, it boots, but the Xposed app seems not installed (not listed in Settings->Apps and its icon is not present in chooser), although, in Magisk, it is visible in the Modules and it's checkbox is checked.
Did anybody successfully installed Xposed with A2 Lite? What can be the problem?

No, sorry, I was not aware that it is a separate thing.
Now I have installed, but it says that no Xposed Framework is installed. If I try to install a framework from inside the installer (90-beta3), it -- obviously -- reports an error that /system/framework/XposedBridge.jar already exist...
Because of this, I cannot enable any module from Xposed Installer.
Any tips what do I do wrong?
I want to use Xposed too but we will have to wait for TWRP I guess.
Not sure what happened to you, did you tried ti reboot your phone? Mine is working just fine

You can install now through Magisk if you want, if yiu get bootloopbfor any xposed module, just flash thr original boot.img

I was able to install it somehow,but stuck after each reboot in process. Now some apps are diying like call enhancement and some test app. So its quite dirty. I have Magist 16.0 installed.

Not all are working apparently, but if it is bootloop, you so try to let it boot again, press power and volume down as the same time while it bootloop, the second boot always work for me
There is TWRP for Mi A2 Lite.
Search on google.
NOTICE: For now there isn't official TWRP. There'w unofficiak fork which can you install using fastboot. :good:
Not sure what happened, AFAIK I have rebooted the phone at least once, but after rebooting again, it said that the framework is installed, but has some problem with it and not functioning (yellow background, sorry, I forgot to take a screenshot), and rebooting once again solved the problem, I can confirm that Xposed works.
But as others mentioned, installing Magisk itself makes problems with the boot. Booting always stucks, I always needed (even before installing Xposed) to long-press power after several minutes and the second try usually boots up.
Now having Magisk and Xposed (and GravityBox) installed usally need to restart booting twice (i.e., the 3rd boot works).
Any suggestions how to debug / get logs about this problem?

Xposed's Gravity box module works on Mi A2 lite?
Yes, GravityBox is working, although as I mentioned, there are issues with boot - I have to reboot several times until it succeeds...
performace drops significantly when i install the xposed module for magisk. i hope they fix it.
So far everything works fine on my end, I'm not noticing any performance drops in my day to day use. Then again I haven't used it much without Magisk + exposed but from what i'm seeing it's working well, no noticeable lag or stuttering.
I have gravity box, Amplify and Greenify modules running.

I can assure you @BubuXP's guide is good. Used his rooting guide, followed the steps for updates and its good to go. I rooted my phone when Im on August update. Now Im in September update
Since rooting my 3XL, I've found several apps that detect root and will no longer work. I can live without them and work around it, but it's annoying. Does anyone know if there is a way to hide my root status from these apps? I've found mentions of some xposed modules that do this, but I'm apprehensive about trying them out quite yet.

In Magisk look for Magic Hide. Open it up and check the box next to the app. You have to be on a newer canary bild for it to work.

I don't see the module you referenced. There is Shellhide that says it's an alternative to Magisk Hide. In Magisk settings there is Magisk hide but it's just on or off, and was already on. So if that's it, it doesn't work for my purpose.
There are some apps that Magisk cannot hide from. This is my first Android phone that I have decided not to unlock the Bootloader on it. I am fine with stock, and don't need what root has to offer. Besides I like being able to use Android Pay and not have to play Cat and Mouse upgrading Magisk every time Android catches up to it.

Yes, I meant inside Magisk. If you have the check box next to the app checked and it is still finding it you are probably out of luck. Some apps are not fixable.
You can also go in settings and hit hide Magisk manager. That sometimes helps.

I tried it yesterday several times and couldn't get it to work. On my previous phones if worked perfectly.
What I did:
- unlock OP7T
- root with self-made Magisk patched boot
- hide Magisk Manager itself
- hide the bank app
It worked even yesterday on my other phone, before I switched to 7T.
I'm wondering why it doesn't work on 7T and maybe there is some fix for it?
What happens when you try the bank apps? I've used several (US Bank, Chase, Discover, etc.), and haven't had any issues
It could be detecting another root app or even a folder associated with a root app (Pokemon Go does this with the Magisk Folder). Start digging through your storage to see if there's anything that might be root related.

Did that too. But something doesn't work correctly.
Rootchecker says I'm rooted and also magisk says installed. Also the apps have root rights in magisk. But root doesn't work lol.
I have completely uninstalled magisk and reflashed it again. Root works now. But magisk hide is broken. Maybe OxygenOS is the reason.

Oxygen os cant be the reason when its working for everyone else....start everything again afresh. Something you are messing up...i would restore the phone with msmdownload tool to be sure everything is back to normal then start everythung again

Yep I thought the same to start with MSMTool.
I never used OxygenOS also on the other OnePlus devices. That's why I thought there is something wrong with it.
BTW which version of magisk do you guys use?
Here it works great. Have hide my bankapp in magisk, than repack magisk have give it the name "funny" now my bankapp works great. I use the latest Canary magisk

This happened one day after I rooted my phone and I rebooted my device and it completely stopped working. The logs provided in Magisk don't seem to be useful nor point to the main issue. Safe mode doesn't have this issue, but I'm looking to see how to fix this issue. I'm running TQ1A.230105.002 build. I can try and install a module to help diagnose the issue if it's useful.

Zygisk: Enabled
Rooted apps: Greenify, GoogleDialerMod, Shizuku, Storage Isolation, BBS

Do you have any Magisk mods installed? If so, one of them may be causing it given you don't have any problems in safe mode.

My bad, I'll edit the post right now. The freezing does occur even after denying all of them permissions
If it is a module just type in adb magisk –remove-modules
there's also a magisk module that disables misbehaving modules at boot to protect against bootloop it's called magisk bootloop protector

I've seen another person who had similar problems while using Greenify, so maybe try to uninstall that and see if the problem persists.
Also, if you booted into safe mode and rebooted your modules should be disabled. Does the problem persist with those mods disabled?

No safe mode is completely fine, but I will look into uninstalling Greenify and see if the problem is fixed.

I'm not sure why Greenify has been so problematic recently, it even crashes on non-root devices. Maybe it's out of date for such a long time?
