I don't have this device but, I had noticed that your device is an amami (Xperia Z1 Compact).
So your best bet is to post this question within one of the following threads that may hopefully be helpful to you.

I didn't know what's going wrong but the only way was to format the data partition. Keep in mind that /deata/media should be backed up.

I dont have bash, is this the problem? Why isnt bash with busybox?
Shouldnt ash work?

which zip and image?
You should really post this in the developers debdroid forum.
Which flashable zip and image did you download?

rename or expand, bash for young
Did you expand the .gz to /sdcard/debdroid and name it linux.img or rename the .gz to linux.img?
not sure how thats supposed to work.
I see that bash is avail for the Young. Not sure why its not in calkulins rom...
Renamed the .gz
First i tried expanding it using estrongs fm. It gave the error "file size mismatch" and the resultant file was only 3.75G. I figured this was not the right way to do it and ended up just renaming the .gz to linux.img. Pretty sure thats how its supposed to go.
Maybe calkulin will include bash in his next rom.

You cannot simply rename the .gz to .img. Extract it on a computer then move it over to your sdcard as /sdcard/debdroid/linux.img. If ash is not working - bash is required because of the way functions are called in the script, however this should solve your issue once you extract the .img from the compressed download.

Looks like a couple files are missing. I got ubuntu to run quite well really (4GB image file with fluxbox, an office suite, media player, browser, pidgin, and several other apps). I didn't use that guide, I just grabbed the files and read the bash scripts to see what was going on.
Basically the zip you download should have an ubuntu.img file and about 4 other files. Make a folder on your sdcard (I called mine "ubuntu") and place all the files in the zip in that folder. Then use adb shell to connect to your phone and run.
Code:
[B]# sh ubuntu.sh[/B]
That will copy certain files to the system. Once that is done, you can run:
Code:
[B]# bootubuntu[/B]
As far as I know, you have to be using adb shell to run that and not using terminal emulator (though I may be mistaken). Once you run bootubuntu (from adb shell) you don't have to have your phone connected to the computer (until you reboot at least to run it again).

Undeletable folder

Hello,
After flashing the most recent TuchMi ROM on my galaxy s3, trying it out and restoring to my nandroid backup of kyanrom I have a TuchMi folder I cannot delete. I have tried ES Fileexplorer and Root Explorer both. There are three zip files in the TuchMi folder that cannot be deleted, tells me file permissions cannot be changed.
That said, the timestamp on the /TuchMi folder is 8 March 1970. I am wondering if this is causing something to fail in deleting or being able to change permissions. I don't know if this is right place to ask this question but I can't ask in the TuchMi thread because I am too new. Anyone have an idea on what I can do to fix this?
Thanks

Run "fix permissions" from recovery, and then try again.
(One of the most common reasons you can't delete something, even as root, is that its file attributes are set to "immutable" (which under linux often means you've been hacked, but no worries here))
Thanks for the quick reply but that didn't seem to fix it. I am at a loss, the folder is only 32meg so I am not too concerned but it is a little annoying. If there's another thing you can think of I'd appreciate it.

I had to delete it while plugged into my pc. Was just driving me crazy that I couldn't get rid of it.
Well, I've resigned myself to failure deleting these three files and the folder they're in. I've tried 8 or 9 different file managers. I downloaded and installed adb, learned enough to really screw up my phone, but that didn't work either. I tried deleting them through windows and debian too.
That said, I'm just going to live with things as they are now. In the future when a more mature JB rom comes out I'll try that but my question is this, can I just format (wipe) my sdcard partition and restore the stock at&t/Samsung rom using Odin?

Weird. As root, you normally only see that for immutable files, so, try:
lsattr foo.zip
and if you see an "i" flag for immutable, do a:
chattr -i file.zip

It kicked out those "Function not implemented" errors, I did some searching and some of the sites that popped up were fedora and ubuntu and they hinted at maybe I have the wrong file system for lsattr to work? In windows it shows the file system on both sdcards, int and ext, as 'generic hierarchical'.
I have had this issue with a couple of folder where I could NOT delete them on my i777 no matter what/how I tried. The files/folders I had were some that I extracted. Then when I was done with it I couldn't delete it. After I had two folders I couldn't delete as it too was bugging me was I connected up my phone via ums to my PC and transfered everything I wanted/needed from my sdcard (internal unremovable). Then when I had it all backed up I went into recovery and formatted my internal sdcard (I removed my external sdcard first to be safe). Then I booted up phone and saw it was all clean. Then I reconnected to PC and transferred all my needed files/folders back onto phone.
I THINK what happened was somehow it was a corrupted file and caused my issues. Completely wiping my sdcard fixed it though. Good luck to you.

Thanks, Im gonna give this a try
Well, it's beat me. After trying all the above things I still cannot delete the TuchMi folder. I tried formatting the sdcard partition from windows, CWM, and fedora. All three did format and manage to wipe everything from that partition except the TuchMi folder.
All I can say is be wary of that ROM.

[Root] How to root z1s and get it to stick on reboot.

Z1s Root+Reovery+Deodex Android 4.3 Updated 6/18/14
This was put together by @ayuready1989 and @Tactic13
This Not A Rom "Do NOT WIPE ANYTHING JUST FLASH AS IS"
This is a Patch to keep root on reboot as well as deodex your current rom.[
NO LONGER USED
Please use Root 4.4.4 on z1s
Once you have recovery you can flash this instead of using the script it does not require you to make the script.
First of all we would like to thank @jcase for getting the initial root, @[NUT] for the recovery @xsacha for the ta backup and @RyokoN for some of the tools, if we forgot someone just send us a message.
Okay now for the fun part.
Make sure that you have usb debugging enabled.
Root with jcase method.
Install SuperSU from market reboot.
Run adb shell su -c "/system/xbin/kill_ric.sh"
Then adb shell su -c "mount -o remount,rw /system"
Install Recovery But use the one for the z1 Locked boatloader.
Finaly Flash Deodex + Root Devhost Minor
Optional
Backup Ta image. Ta Backup
We will keep working on this as well as start working on a rom just wanted to get this out to you guys.
You assume all the stand disclaimers when you flash this that not is to say that we wont help you.

Re run the root as well as the second set of commands and on your phone it should ask you to grant root access to adb. But i installed SuperSu and used option 1.
same here, supersu and option 1,but make sure /sbin/xbin/kill_ric.sh is ran before u install recovery a couple times(2-3) just to make sure.
this is the specific one i used, for winblows V4

So last night jcase remotely tested the exploit and rooted my Z1s. I installed the recovery this morning as instructed here and then flashed the deodex and root zip. Now my phone cannot achieve root via the adb commands or by itself. Furthermore the su binary that supersu had installed is gone and supersu cannot install it again. Any ideas what happened?
EDIT: Hmm, i installed the updated root method from the OP and that appears to have fixed it. Now to see if root sticks.

cool. if asked to fix root after cwm flash it seems safe to always chose to fix it

strange, the zip doesnt touch /system/xbin/su .. try the su fix that cwm asks for when trying to reboot after flashing a zip . ive selected yes and no, still the same result. still had root.. but flash via cwm and apply the fix root fix it asks, dont disable flash recovery though

Oh. When I first installed the deodex via philztouch it asked if i wanted to disable flashing of stock recovery. I said yes... That must have been my problem. However, everything works now, even rebooting holds root and system r/w. Also, can you link me to how you installed xposed? Edit: Nevermind, found out how myself

I'm curious if Z1 roms would work for the Z1s... Considering they're basically the same phone... I did a full backup on mine, now considering trying that out...
I have don't its a pain in the but to get back you will lose everything.
We don't have a 4.4.2 kernel if we did we might be able to.
It's good to see T-Mobile roms, when you're overseas you can use WiFi Calling to call back to the US free.:thumbup:

I was actually thinking 4.3 roms... I figured 4.4 wouldn't work, but 4.3 maybe?
adb shell chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/pwn

There's supposed to be a space between chmod and 755.
