Now the boot animation is all acting funky. Any way to revert back without factory reset?
(btw, I did this to mainly get Pixel sounds, which actually worked)
You mean the mod intended for the M8, like this one: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/themes-apps/mod-google-pixel-bootsplash-t3522426
Or an actual boot animation from the Pixel device?
Did you try to simply flash another boot animation?

Yes, the mod intended for LOS15. I've been looking to flash something that works on M8 but can't find anything. Most links seem to be dead

Has anyone been able to use any custom boot animations on their S4? Didn't know if anyone has tried it yet.. Would love to use the stock one from the Nexus..
What would happen if I flashed this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1888848
flashed it and didn't work.. lol is there a way I can get it to work?
You need a custom kernel that supports changing out the boot animation
Can you recommend a good one that is closes to stock? I really want to get rid of the T-Mobile Branding.. Thanks for your help..
I tried doing this,http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2063280
but I just get a black screen when I boot now. Shutdown logos are still T-Mobile.. Guess I will have to flash a kernel.. I just don't care about OCing my phone
I flashed this,

and was able to use custom boot animations
Hi, I am new to the whole root/custom recovery scene so don't really know what I'm doing, so I tried to use Flashify to flash TWRP on to my international LG G3 running 5.0 (rooted). Unfortunately, when booting into recovery I got a small message in the corner saying Secure booting error! Cause: boot certification verify, before my phone screen went black and my led started flashing blue and red. Holding down the vol - button seemed to fix it and the phone still boots fine, but it does this every time I try to boot into recovery. I just want to play around with custom ROMs and TWRP
Anyone got a fix for this, or know what is going on (bearing in mind that I am a complete noob with this stuff)?
Thanks in advance

I believe you need to use imageprep.

Are you sure it'll be safe, given my current situation? I was led to believe it was an error that I'd only be able to fix with a factory reset.

I have used this method and had no issues. The reason you can't flash it with flashify is because it only works on KitKat for lg g3. People using lollipop has to use image prep method. There should be two tutorials, one for going back to kitkat and one for alowing you to flash it while on lollipop.

OK, just had a read of the Imageprep post and this all seems completely beyond me. Is there an alternative method, or if not, could someone simplify what I'd need to do with Imageprep to get TWRP working on 5.0?

This is the easiest one that I know of. Just read carefully and you'll be fine.
Hi guys does anyone know where I can find some OP3 compatible custom boot animations? Also what's the safest method to install? I fancy having a flashy new OP3 not an expensive paperweight...
I saw a really cool boot animation of a huge Android eating a glowing apple logo but I don't know if it's compatible...
Thanks in advance
Search for a twrp flashable boot animation, that's the fastest. Just select what you want, then flash in recovery and reboot.
I've been trying to figure it out with no avail. Not located in /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/ and is not /dev/logo
I have a feeling that it might be located in aboot. I am stuck and I need help modding my boot logo so I can have it seamlessly transition into my boot animation (pixel boot animation). I do use h811, but I don't think that is going to make a massive difference from h815 (unless we are going to modify aboot, but I hope it doesn't come to that). Any help is appreciated!

if its the boot ani just root if its the actual lg logo it is in the kernal somewhere which unlocked bootloader is required

The boot logo, not boot animation. The LG logo. I already have bootloader unlocked and I am already rooted.

Ok, so I can't find the boot logo (lg logo) within the kernel. I also don't get why it would be in the kernel, as the kernel is not loaded when the phone displays the LG logo.

it is in kernel, kernel is one of first things that have to be loaded, without kernel and modules it could not even display anything...

K. Now it is a matter of finding it in the kernel. Does anyone have an extracted kernel I can look at? After a while, I realized I have only looked inside the boot image. I also cannot extract the kernel for the life of me.
I thought it was in the kernel. I flashed a new kernel on my note 5 with note 7 port. But after flashin n7 port kernel. Now my initial boot says note 7. Lol i love it.

Yeah. It would not be in kernel as bootloader inits the display. Just note that download mode is not actually running on the kernel and yet it still displays. And I run lineage and that directory does not exist.

Exactly. I have a custom lineage os and I also have a custom kernel, which does not change anything.
I have been in the andorid moding since the clockworkmod recovery era.(andorid 4) I have nvr seen something so unusual. I was booting into recovery(twrp), I was about to install magisk but i couldnt find the zip file, so I was going to boot into system. And when it was booting. The first time boot bar thingy showed up(pixel experience) which mean it is usually bricked in the os. Has anyone have the same experience? Now I have to reinstall Pixel experience and lose data. Wow.

i dont understand much about flashing custom roms without formating but apparently Android 11 and Android 12 are encrypted, so, you cant flash/boot any custom roms without formatting the data.
