I edit the screen off time from the default of 15 seconds to 30 seconds. It automatically reverts back to 15 seconds. Any idea what I may be doing wrong or what do I need to do in order to have the screen turn off after 30 seconds instead of 15?
+1 same issue with me
I posted in the "Community" thread aswell
Power Saving mode on?
Fixed my problem
Turns out it was a Macro getting triggered and changing the setting
Nope, not the powermode

I don't know if it's a setting I somehow changed or what, my screen won't turn off if I push the power button. If the screen is LOCKED it will turn on and off with the power button, but if I am at the homescreen and try to turn it off - nothing, I have to let it turn off by whatever time I set. (one minute)
Anyone know how to fix it??
Is this happening with the USB cable connected? If so, you've set it to not turn off during charging. Settings -> Applications -> Development -> Stay awake.

Press and hold the power-button for min 2 - max 10 seconds. If the screen does not go on, tell us your setcpu-settings.

I've had mine lock up on me a couple times now. Any way to force it to power off/reboot without removing the battery?

Mine didn't work. Is it OS based? I'm using Cyanogenmod 11. I was using PPSSPP and I rotated to go landscape and the whole phone just froze. I don't have fingernails, well barely, so it's hard for me to pry the back off.

Keep holding it, it will reboot eventually. Maybe after 30 seconds

I tried holding it down for a minute, used a stopwatch. It was a no-go. Maybe it's for the stock ROM.

Try power + vol up, if that doesn't work try power + vol down
Its a bios feature it should work on every device

Running stock 10m and pressing power also does nothing, no matter how long. Pulling the battery is the only (annoying, because of protective cover) option.

No, that only works after a reboot/when the device is powered off. Not while device is hanging/powered on. Pressing power simply does nothing at all.
Hi, my Note 4's touch key light no longer working. Well, it was working before, but I turned off and now I wanted to set it as 1.5 sec duration. Unfortunately, it seems to be not working anymore, I don't see any lights when I press the keys. :crying:

Thank you mate. You save my headache without medication.
Lmao! Just noticed this too! Hahaha that's cool how power saving turns it off
I guess the tablet isn't actually powering down, it's just going into sleep mode, or whatever it's called when the screen shuts off. Anyway, is there a way to keep this from happening when the tablet is plugged into the wall charger? It isn't a major deal but it is sort of annoying when I have something large downloading or have the tablet otherwise doing something on its own, but I'm not actively using it. I like to walk by occasionally and check in on things, but will often find that the tablet has shut off. Then I have to turn it back on, swipe the screen, or login if I have security on. Anyway, it would be much nicer if it would just stay on when plugged in. I've looked through the settings and can't seem to find anything related. If it's there, I'm missing it.
Thanks.
There are different between shut off and standby (sleep mode):
1- Shut off: Your tablet is shutdown, the only way to turn it on is power button.
2- Standby: the screen is off, you just need to press power or home button to turn the screen on in 2 seconds. In order to prevent the screen turn off so quickly, you only need to change the screen timeout to 10 or 30 minutes. If it turns off by itself, your tablet has a problem.
Mine can standby a whole week and it only loses a little charge when waking up.

There is no 30 minute screen timeout on my Galaxy Tab S 10.5. The most I can set it to is 10 minutes, and that's where it's at.
Thanks anyway.

we call that a screen time out... you can activate the stay awake while charging feature in developer option... how to activate developer option.... go to setting -> about device -> and press the Build Number 7 times. you will see something like developer option activate. then find the stay awake while charging option. that's all. :victory:
