Animal Crossing on A5? - Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7 (2017) Questions & Answe

Want to play animal crossing: pocket camp but I it doesn't appear on google play.
When I go to the new animal crossing this message pops up "this item is unavailable for this device", I'm on Android 7.0 and I couldn't find any non-compatibility issues. The thing is is that it says it would work on my same phone but on Android 6. My tablet is Android 7.1.1 and it works on that.
Now my phone is rooted which is probably the culprit but even using Magisk core modules still doesn't change it. The weirdest thing is that when I search for it on the Play store it doesn't show up, I had to google to find it.

Seems to be a regional restriction. Appears on my A5 here in Germany.
(I'm not rooted)

Kevo stopped working, but there is a workaround

Mates,
I don't know if the Kevo/Kwikset app folks are dumb, lazy or if there is some fee they have to pay to support new phones, but hear my tale of woe, with a happy ending (a minstrel on a mandolin is playing in the background as you read this).
I put Kevo locks everywhere when they first came out with android support. When they work, it is one less key I have to carry, one more thing my everpresent phone can do. They were announced as partners for the Gear S2 which, as we all know, is bull. The tech writers who said it worked were clearly Samsung lapdogs.
The Kevo website says that the app won't work on the Galaxy S7 edge but it did. Right from the start, right out of the gate. Then T-Mobile rolled out a patch last week and it stopped. Nothing. Bupkus. Google Play says the app is not supported by my device.
A little bit of searching led to the actual newest Kevo apk. I downloaded it, deleted the old app, installed it and voila! Back in business. The new version supports remote open and close, which I haven't checked yet- I bought an upgraded lock but it isn't installed.
So, there you have it. I have no idea why Kevo/Kwikset/Unikey didn't test with the newest phones, why they don't know it works or whatever. Their developers are much more interested in supporting iOS and the sheeple that use it, but it will work for us too!
where did you find the latest? i looked for almost 2 hours and the best i could come up with was the 0.99 beta in the google groups. had to sideload an app that lets you change your device to trick Play into letting you install it.
Googled Android kevo apk, found version 1.2.57.2p everywhere. I presumed that was the latest since it has the remote buttons on it.
yeah i saw those results as well, but none of the apk downloaders worked for me. several even said their 'device' was incompatible, which was the same problem i was having.
I'm in the same boat. I have an S7 Edge and while kevo still works with just the proximity and tap lock to open...I've never been able to get the tap to unlock/lock work. Even on my moto360 (gen1) kevo force closes non stop. Another problem I had was my old S5 was on Lollipop and it worked, but then Tmo rolled out the update to MM and now it doesn't even see the lock. I've had multiple emails to Kevo and the only thing I get is that "We're sorry, we have no plans to support MM".
If you got anything to help out with Kevo working on Marshmallow, then I'd appreciate it as well!
I might be a little late on the the subject but I had the Kevo app since the beginning from my Note 4 on KK all the way up to My Note 5 on MM. I rarely use my Moto 360 (1) to open the door but this time I did and the watch went haywire and kept showing a notification indicating that the app is no longer working. So I decided to uninstall the Kevo app and then proceeded to sync the watch and phone, stopping the annoying notification. When I went to the app store to reinstall I found the "phone not compatible"..
Well, decided to sideload to have the Kevo app to look and work the same way I had it before.. after several attempts I figured it out. 1st sideload the Kevo 0.9.58p apk, sign in, then sideload the updated version 1.2.57.2p and it will finally look and feel like the updated one on Lollipop. Sefar is right, why the devs were so lazy in checking for compatibility is beyond me but it works.!!

Anyone else have a strange VR app mysteriously install itself?

Earlier tonight I noticed a new app, "Rooms" with a pretty generic Android head as its icon, had installed itself. Not unheard of, especially on a Verizon handset, but I have DT Ignite disabled. I clicked it to see what opened but got an "insert phone into Gear VR" screen, which I didn't do since I wanted to find out more about what it is and where it came from. When I open the Oculus app it's not showing in my library.
Only thing I can think of is a day or so ago I sideloaded Deo VR video player and that must have opened up some sort of backdoor into a third party being able to install apps without authorization. But this installed itself tonight (I only know this for sure because of Samsung's ****ty ui choice of always putting new apps at the end of the drawer, and it's the last one behind another app I purposefully installed tonight).
I can't find anything that seems to be related to a GearVR app called "Rooms", and r/gearvr has no info on it.
Anyone else have this happen? Have you opened it with the phone in the GearVR? What is it?
Rooms
It showed up on my Note 7 as well. Don't know what it is. Didn't get into the VR system to find out. Uninstalled it but it keeps coming back.
Check to see if the dt ignite re enabled itself. When i read about that app online, it said it has the tendency to to that . (Haven't seen it happen yet... it's just what the article said)

This has also installed itself onto my s7 edge last night I have not installed or removed any app for a while so no idea where it came from, it refuses to be remove and if you open it and put phone in vr gear it just says page can not be displayed and get in touch with Oculus.
Someone on Reddit did some digging and it looks like it's part of one of the recent Oculus platform updates but isn't actually implemented yet. Supposedly a newer Oculus update removes it again. It's a chatroom type platform Oculus is working on, supposedly.

Hotfix update rolled out today

Google Play Store - Device is not compatible with this version

Hello XDA!
Around 3 weeks ago, I updated my Nexus 5x from 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the latest Android version 7.1.1 Nougat. After one day, it suddenly crashed and my phone was stuck in a bootloop. Google knows about the problem and they said that this is a hardware related issue and that you can get your phone repaired/replaced by LG. I contacted LG, they replaced my whole mainboard and now I have a working Nexus 5x on Android 7.1.1.
Now to my problem:
Before all that I pre registered my phone for the "Super Mario Run" app in the play store and I've realised that I can't find it anymore in there. I tried to find the app on my phone by opening the Play Store link and now all I get is the "Your device isn't compatible with this version" error which hasn't been the case before! I even tried it with my girlfriend's Nexus 5x (also on 7.1.1) and for her everything works just fine!
A bit later that day I realized that this app isn't the only one which isn't compatible anymore. Until now it seems that I have this problem with every single one of Nintendo's apps and until now I don't know if any other apps are effected by this. The Play Store even shows me an ad about Super Mario Run and some other Nintendo app but when I tap on it, all I get is an empty list because none of this apps is compatible with my device.
As I mentioned above my Nexus 5x is currently running on Stock Android 7.1.1 and rooted.
Any kind of help is appreciated!
Similar issue
I have the same problem as you. I had also pre registered then I rooted my Nexus and then it doesn't show in my playstore. Playstore link says 'your device is not compatible..' I guess the problem with Android version. I had also upgraded from 7.1.1 to 7.1.2. So maybe they ain't releasing for nougat or maybe that is a later release.

Netflix - device incompatible

I was messing around with xposed and Sony framework for ps4 remote play. I tried running Netflix and got an error, don't remember syntax. So deleted Netflix and tried to DL and now it won't show in play store . went to history to see it and says incompatible. So I did a dirty flash of same older ROM, same thing. So i did a full reset and installed lineage and same thing, incompatible. What am I missing?
Bad enough my nexus' rotation is broke, touch screen randomly doesn't take inputs, usb port broken, only charges and can't connect PC for files. Wireless charging randomly doesn't work and drains over night, etc. The one thing I had was some browsing and Netflix.
I had the same thing, the last update of Netflix it said it was incompatible and since then it doesn't show in the Play Store. Luckily I still have the previous version installed, but failing that you could try installing version 4.8.5 from https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862715472

****ers. This did it meanwhile I thought my **** was broken bad.
Now lineage looks OK but typing in browser has 2 second delay before showing on screen.
Incidentally having looked further into the Netflix problem, apparently this is deliberate on Netflix's part; they've just decided not to allow installation on unlocked/rooted devices. At least they haven't blocked it entirely, I suppose, but I see lots of people threatening to close their Netflix accounts over it - most of the recent Play Store reviews are 1 or 2 stars because of it.
Yeah people are getting their accounts locked and banned due to this. Such a silly move from Netflix, classic corporate decision and they think it'll help stop piracy with offline downloads then people using root to grab them and upload them. Seems the long way to do it haha. If anything this will drive people to piracy, however we who root are a big niche so I doubt they'll care.
Magisk will get around this but you gotta be careful as if stuff updates then SafetyNet breaks and you open Netflix you'll be screwed. Or use an old apk like someone mentioned further up. Though this may turn server side soon.
it's because ur rooted. the netflix company has started blocking ppl from installing netflix to a rooted device or a device with an unlocked bootloader. idk most of whts going on but i think it has something to do with androids version of widevine. u can still get the latest netflix by sideloading the app from downloading an apk from a trusted source like apk mirror. hope i helped!

Android Auto

It was suggested I come over here and see what's going on. I've got a 5t with Oxygen.
I've never been able to get Android Auto to load, once. It always says "Something went wrong - Google Play services doesn't' seem to be working right now."
I can't Force Stop the Google Play services, or deactivate it. I've cleared my cache. I don't have a Android Device Management App installed either.
I enrolled and updated to the Google Play services Beta, but haven't still can't force stop it either.
Where do I go from here?
I don't know about this issue.
But I can say I use Android auto daily in my car and have no issues.
I have a Volkswagen caddy 2017 and use ob3
I sideloaded the app because it is not officially released in my country. I use version 3.0.
@dashbarron,
I have the exact same problem . I've also gone the play services beta route with no joy. I've tried literally every possible solution I've come across on the web, still no joy. I can't get past this.
Did you ever get AA to work? How?
Thanks!

I don't know if you have used Android auto before, so maybe you really like it and my advise maybe of no use to you. But while it is good to use, I soon reverted back to using split screen, top half for nav and bottom half to easily switch between music or radio or whatever else you want, even set up a YouTube video before you get going if it's something that doesn't require your focus on it, with gestures it's safer than messing around with the complicated controls in my car! And I have the plug in version of Android auto built into the car, I literally only plug it in when I have my daughter's on board so they can call out ok Google for whatever tune they want on. Anyway that's how I roll when driving and I'm driving all day everyday, hope maybe I saved u some time getting it working
