Battery replacement part suggestion? - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Seems I'm one of many with this phone with a battery problem and it looks like I would need to replace it.
Can anyone recommend me a site where I can get a good and reliable replacement battery?
Thanks

I would like to know an answer to this too.

You will have big problems if you want to replace the battery. You cant remove the back cover so the only option is by removing the screen and the components to reach the battery...
Not a fun projet imo.
If you know how to set it by yourself and already do this for other phone like this one i guess it's OK.
But i think if it's needed to buy a simple huge power bank.

Disassembling and repairing HTC HTV31 Butterfly 3

Heey everyone,
My phone has some serious problems. I'm talking about percentage not showing correctly, because of that the phone will go off at random. As the percentage that is shown (for example 43%) is actually a lot less (it's actually 0%). And when I try to turn it on, the phone must be charging, otherwise the chance of data getting deleted is almost 100% (I think around 85%). And with the data deletion problem comes the storage problem, because the data is probably still on there but not accessible by android or something and therefore my phone can't install updates now(the apps are all stock) even though they were on there the moment the phone shut off.
I hope you guys still understand the situation, but now my actual question
Because these problems are all the cause of a faulty battery, I want to replace the battery with a new one.
I couldn't find replacements for our butterfly 3 phone, but there are ones for the M8, M9 and M9+.
These batteries look very similar and I actually think they are the exact same size and they do have the same connector.
Since so many things are similar between the M9/M9+ and our Butterfly 3, I thought those batteries also fit our phone.
But since taking the phone apart is not easy and of course risky, I would like to ask if anyone here has taken apart a HTC (HTV31) Butterfly 3 before.
If so, could that someone please tell me how this phone can be disassembled and maybe even tell me what the size and the connector of the battery are.
I could of course just buy a new phone, but this phone is the only one on the market(!!!) that fits all my needs. And replacing the battery is cheaper than buying a new one. As I got lucky somehow that I didn't have to pay any taxes or anything when I bought it around 1.5 years ago. And the prices on ebay are definitely higher than back then.
If any of you has some other ideas to solve my problem or has a better phone with almost the same specs, then place say so
PS. If it's possible to use the battery of the M9, then I will try to put a larger capacity battery in it, as this capacity is a bit low.
you can go to taobao.com, look for the battery.

Thank you!
The website with the tutorial doesn't load unfortunately, but as I almost bought the battery for the M9, I am happy I now know they aren't the same.
Thanks again.
EDIT: Turns out that the images don't load. Do the images load for someone here? Would very much appreciate it if someone could upload the images somewhere.
I have the exact same problem with my htc butterfly 3
I am looking for a fix of the exact same problems for a long time. Havent found one. If u found a fix plz do let me know

Device bended. need battery replacement?

hi!
last week i have been suffering an awful battery performance. it goes from full to dead in about six hours, regardless of use.
I though that it may be a firmware, or app, problem. but today I realize that the device is bended in its top section.
so.. connecting the dots,, now i am afraid that the lithium in the battery is reacting in a bad way due to overcharging, or something like that, and that it caused the battery to swollen and then bended the phone.
what do you think? should i get a new battery asap?
thanks!
Yeah, that might be a puffy lipo. Can you take a picture of the bending?
If it is the battery you'll definitely want to replace it asap else you'll risk it rupturing which can lead to fires, explosions, etc.
^ What he said. If it is the battery, don't hesitate, that can be dangerous!
I had the exact same issue, sent my phone to HTC and they replaced the battery. I always use to have it on charge lol just got it back yesterday.
got it! i have ordered the new battery and will be changing it shortly
thanks !!

Bad battery

The vibration motor on my Fire phone stopped working, and then I noted that the case was bulging - the screen backlight was bleeding out of the side gaps.
After removing the back (https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/Amazon+Fire+Phone+Teardown/27458), it was clear that the battery had swollen significantly. I pried the battery out, but like many phones it won't boot without a battery installed. Now it's time to decide whether to move on or spend $15 on a questionable battery off Ebay.
Wow, that's dramatic. What did you decide to do? I had planned to replace my battery once it is bad. Seems like the thing to do if you still like the phone.

I decided to buy a battery on eBay for $12.99. It was reasonably easy to reply (there are instructions on iFixit) and the phone is working again. I'm not sure about the true capacity of the new battery yet (its not my main phone).

That's good to know, that you could do it cheaply and easily. Fire isn't my main phone either but it has a data SIM and is in daily use. I still enjoy it and plan to keep using it indefinitely. It is special because there will never be anything like it again.

Need urgent help! battery swollen on HTC one m8

Phone battery is swelling day by day , I do not know whats the matter but because of that even my phone's display not working properly
I am not getting genuine battery online , any suggestions?
touchscreen panel has already came out because of swollen battery!
You need to stop using it and turn off the device. The battery is damaged and using it any further you risk seriously injuring yourself.
Basically at this stage the phone is done for, but if you want to continue using it you gotta replace the battery. M8s and M9 batteries fit and work with M8, although they might also be hard to get nowadays. If you still can't find any or you don't want to attempt doing the replacement yourself you can also ask your local phone repair shops if they can fix your device - that would be a safe, but a costly way though.
Thanks brother actually it ruined working display too( i mean that swollen battery) , some part of screen is not getting any touch effect ! well I will try to find battery in market! Thanks again

I fully agree here. Swollen battery is damaged, and this is a dangerous situation.
Also, do NOT try to charge the battery. It may catch fire or explode! If you remember all the stories about Samsung Note (forget which iteration of the Note) batteries burning or exploding, this is a similar situation.
The thread title "Urgent" is no joke.
I've replaced both battery and display in my mind, it is not really difficult. Both are available on eBay and Amazon. There are many videos and instructions on how to do it. If you decide to do it yourself I would suggest watching the videos many times and have the instructions open while working on the phone. Take your time and refer to the instructions.

take time... I have done this 2 times before... when open the body take care about the hardware buttons. I have destroyed them only with an little plektrum.. the htc one M8 is the difficult devices that I have reapired. I will recommend to buy an damaged device for trying the repairprocess.
