Hi, is it normal that you can actually hear the vibration (quite loudly) when pressing nav bar buttons or typing etc?
I've not noticed it on previous/other phones so was wondering if it's faulty...
I think that you can switch the vibration level in the settings app. At least it worked for me in my old OP5.
Yea I have it set to the lowest level, but in a silent room you could still hear it from say 1-2 meters away. Sounds like when you blow on the lip of a glass bottle lol

Can you also feel slight vibration when you tap near the keyboard area? I think the vibration motor moves slightly when you tap the phone
No, I haven't noticed any other vibrations when tapping on the screen.
With regards to my issue, from watching YouTube videos it appears to be 'normal'.
Massive design floor in my opinion, what's the point of vibrate mode if it's just as loud as having touch sounds on lol!
same here, vibration is too loud and i find it very annoying to feel.Anyone did try adjust vibrations with custom kernel?

All of a sudden I can barely (and i mean barely) hear the little click when you lock and unlock the phone. And the key tones when dialing are hardly audible as well. I have checked to see if all my volumes are up and they appear to be maxed out. I didn't mess with any settings at all that I can remember. Any thoughts on how to fix this? They function just fine just can't hear the audible confirmation any more. Kinda miss it actually.

well a surefire way to fix it would be to wipe data/ factory reset.
if that doesnt do it maybe your speaker is starting to go?
i replaced mine personally a few weeks ago, and you wouldnt believe how much metal shards/debris was thru the fine mesh screen and stuck to the speaker not allowing the speakers voice coil to move its full travel.
That worked like a charm. Back in bidness. Thanks!
For my ringer, it is on the loudest, but when I get a phone call, the sound is really muffled/low for about 1 second, then jumps up the volume it should be on (and its really loud)....Is that a normal issue or am I the only one having it?
Its not a make or break, I loooooooove this phone, but just wondering, its kind of weird!
Thanks!
Happens to me as well
Tapatalkin' it from my Epic Touch 3g
It's by design and for 2 reasons. Prevents damage to the speaker and allows you time to silence it before it goes full blast. I actually like it.
If I'm next to my phone I can silence it before it bugs anyone else...if I'm not it will ring loud enough to get my attention.
This is same on mine. It was nice for the one time my phone started going in a meeting cause i hit the volume key fast enough to silence it, but does sound funny when you want it to be loud.
Hi guys!
I wonder if you can help me test one thing. I noticed a quite faint but a bit annoying "pop" sound when pressing a button on screen when sound is muted. It is like the speakers make a slight "pop" noise when starting up.
Do you have this aswell? It is only when the tablet is completly muted using the volume button.

Thx for checking. It isnt a big problem, just was a bit annoying when lying in bed and everything was dead silent. It was then that I noticed it. I can easily live with it just wanted to check if it was normal.

Actually I have a fan on roof with a loose bearing. Constant irritation for me But today that you pointed out, I switched off that stupid fan, and noticed a slight hiss too, beside the pop sound.
I had a 8.4 LTE (705) that i sold to a friend, because he needed right away and couldn't wait for shipping.
I bought another one but this one is LOUD when it vibrates, sounds as if the vibration motor was grinding something.
It helps if i lower the vibration intensity in the settings but, the default vibration (i.e. startup or TWRP or anything outside TW) is just too strong and noisy.
Did i get a defective vibration motor? Is there a setting to overwrite the default strength of it? It sounds like miscalibration.
Anybody else with this issue?
Thanks!
Hi everyone, to those who received their oneplus 5T, I got a question for you.
Have you all hear a strange noise after each vibrates? Basically, I've been hearing a strange and non-consistent "raindrop" sound after each vibrates.
When I turn on vibrate on tap and set the intensity to high, I can hear this sound after the vibration motor triggers.
Has anyone else experience such issues?
Here is the sound file I uploaded for better clarification:
https://soundcloud.com/xiang-pan-1/strange-oneplus-5t-vibration-sound
I hear that on mine as well.
I have a similar experience. However it's very quiet (I don't know how high you numbed up the volume, but I don't have it that hard) and not all the time.
I think I know why:
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/vibration-on-the-5t.695633/
It's the combination of the speaker and vibration. So no hardware fault. Or at least, I think it's not.
Way to reproduce this sound: Go to settings - sounds - incoming call vibration pattern
Play a little bit and you should hear the "Raindrop" sound.
After you connect some headphones it's totally gone. So hopefully it can be fixed with a software update.
Weird.. I don't hear it when I do that. I only hear it when the speaker is on. Like when unlocking your phone, the speaker will stay one for a couple of seconds (very quite noise, is normal). When you use your home bottom fast a couple of times after unlock you hear the raindrop. When the speaker totally turns off after a couple of seconds you don't hear it anymore.
I think it's due to the vibration resonating with the speaker when on (try it for yourself). This also explains why you don't hear it when using headphones.
The sound is so minimal many users don't realize it I think. It's not a hardware fault I'm guessing, more a disign thing.
I'm having this problem too.. only after the speaker is activated.
Everyone who notice it, please also let know on the OnePlus forum here, also for more information about it (It's probably design related):
