I have xt926 on 4.4.2., system version 183.46.15.XT926.Verizon.en.US (29 July 2014), rooted (SuperSU v.2.82) .
The bootloader is locked.
Is there any way to unlock it?
Thanks!
Incorrect forum area ?
Yes wrong phone forum. This is for the Razer(Company) Phone(model), not for Motorola(company) Droid(series) RAZR(model) of any kind, big difference.

to see if you are unlocked go to the dialer and press *#*#7378423#*#*
go to service info>configuration and allmost in the botom line will say : bootloader unlock allowed - yes or no or it will say bootloader unlocked-yes check what it says and reply...
just to inform you its a little bit risky to unlock your phone - install custom roms ecpecially if you dont know much about it

It says bootloader status allowed yes
Then you need to do this first
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/
Then download advanced stock kernel from the development forum and follow this guide -

If you want a stable rom with all Xperia's features, I suggest you to use only Stock Based Rom ( like XZX ) IMHO
i thinks its better for you to stay locked and install stock based rom.
jellybean update is really near .
Don't know much about ROM modifications etc... I have done it before since I am good at directions...
I am just a little confused... All the reports say bootloader is locked and no hack etc. Thought bootloader had to have unlock/hack to apply roms...
Why are there a number of ROMs in the dev section... just for the people that were unable to unlock on day 1?
Mainly looking for maybe a ROM with stock android or tweaks or something. Would like to upgrade android when VZW basically drops OS support in 6mo..
The community will get the phone unlocked. Even if most of us can't use them yet, it's good for the developers to be doing some groundwork in the meantime.

For those and for those who use a method, such as a java card (which gives you S-OFF, not an unlocked bootloader).
Hello, I am currently working on a way to exploit the bootloader for the XT1254 (Droid Turbo) and the method will probably work on all quarks if I successfully achieve this. Right now I have been able to successfully downgrade the bootloader to version dated 2015-04-05. I think there are a few exploits that work for this older bootloader however at the moment I'm stuck because the System.img is from Nougat but the bootloader is from pre-nougat and I can not flash a working gpt.bin that I have found. I need some other devs to jump on board to submit any info they might have that may help us at achieving this much desired unlock for the verizon variants. I feel it is unethical to be forced to pay $25 to unlock this particular device. It would be completely fair to send donations to the sunshine project, but since we have not had an alternative for the last 4 yrs, its time we resolve this issue and work toward an open solution for the newer devices as well. Thanks for anyone supporting this and any help pitched in!
$25 was money WELL spent! Especially on a 64GB Turbo!

ALL other Quarks -- except XT1254 -- ALREADY have free Bootloader Unlock code from Motorola. I wrote INSTRUCTIONS thread about it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-maxx/general/guide-how-to-unlock-moto-maxx-moto-t3455341
This is why all the other Quarks (XT1225 and XT1250) had TWRP and custom ROMs before Sunshine team managed to unlock the Verizon variant.
PLEASE, don't even mention the other Quarks in your scheme for the Droid Turbo XT1254.
Dear all. Recently bought a G40F and ever since I was on the lookout for custom ROM support. more specifically, a well tested and "straight forward" custom ROM installation sequence. for a noob like me that's very important.
although Moto shares their kernel source code to custom rom devs, the ROM scene for G40/G60 is nowhere comparable to other phones like Poco X3. Im guessing thats because it's launched only in the Indian market(so far) and it hasnt attracted a lot of devs worldwide. well, its a shame tbh.
I have scoured the internet and was disappointed to find nothing of that sort. just a pile of generalized guides(beware of bricking) which is just copy pasted for every devices out there, probably for clicks and running ads. Yet, thank god I found this guy Selva Kumar A. He wrote a detailed guide and tested it on his own G40, and also has a guide if you happen to brick it.
once again, i am a noob and this would be my first custom ROM. So don't take my word for it. I am here reaching out to the community hoping to find better opinions and corrections to the techniques mentioned above. If any Devs reading this, please spare some time to evaluate this. bricking my phone is such a nightmare, but I want root access and try out some cool stuff.
Bootloader is not unlockable at the moment
Correct me if I'm wrong.
With an unlocked bootloader I can root the phone.
whereas for installing a custom ROM I should wait until a developer makes one that'd fit g40f, which also requires a unlocked bootloader

bro I'm guessing you're that youtuber no? Would you suggest I return this phone and wait until Poco x4 or something that'd have a big community support, hence custom roms n everything

As per my understanding, someone has to make a custom tailored rom to fit every model that's out there
Yeah , but bootloader's not unlockable right now!
Unlocking through adb , it says failed to load unlock data
Moto saif we are working to solve it!

Yeah already its there
50% build is already complete, rest needs an unlocked G40, if you somehow unlock BL of G40, reach Dev's through official moto G40/g60 Tlgrm group

Some tweaks needed but it needs the unlocked G40, if you somehow unlock BL , join thr tgm group you will get everything

Is there any work being done to try and root it or is it locked never happening
Don't see it happening. The days of unlocked bootloaders, TWRP and even simple root seem to be over for the unlocked USA snapdragon versions. I can live with that but no esim on the 'ultra flagship' device is simply unacceptable, IMO.
If you go back and read the posts about rooting, you will find the all but 1 or 2 models can be unlocked. the US Unlocked is not rootable. Make sure you read through the posts, you can usually find the answer in the threads.
I appreciate the responses. So let's say I was willing g to sell this one to buy one that can be rooted. Which model am I looking for? I just use a prepaid phone service. But like being able to jump from one service to another.
That is also listed on the forum thread titles.
SM-F926B
Thank you
Isn't there a paid service that unlocks the US bootloader?

Would you trust someone else or a company to use unknown software on your device then install and log in to all of your stuff not knowing if they installed anything malicious?
What about model SM-F926U? rootable or not?
As stated here and in other threads, there is no root for the U/U1. Doing so has negative effects to the ROM, such as disabling the camera.
IF there was/is a successful Root process, the community will blow up with threads explaining how.

Try it out ! and tell us back
Checkout if you have the OEM option (@ developer options) to enable it ..
That is the first step to unlock the bootloader
Not seeing that OEM option in Developer options.............so I'm not willing to try it out, don't want to brick the device.

If you don't have the oem option in your developer options your device can't be rooted.

Exactly !!!
Because you can't unlock the bootloader as said before , no OEM option = no unlock
So that link is wrong unfortunately
Yes, any post that says they can root the Fold 3 U/U1 is wrong. You will have consequences like losing camera and such.
Yes, it is wrong. This has been explored at length. I'm sorry it isn't a reality, but that's where we are.
appreciate the feedback..................back in the day with Windows Mobile OS phones, I would flash custom roms all the time, then the same with android HTC devices......................but haven't tried rooting since the Note-8.
