Our company switched from Verizon to AT&T on same day I received my Pixel 2 XL (my phone, their SIM).
I am not seeing an option for WiFi Calling - I had this on Verizon, but not seeing the option on Pixel 2 XL on AT&T:
Settings>Network>WiFi>Preferences>Advanced>Wifi Calling (missing option)
I have noted that HotSpot is not yet working. AT&T is aware and will have enabled by Friday. My IT guy does not seem to think WiFi calling is something AT&T needs to turn on.
Anyone using AT&T have WiFi Calling working?
Not available with ATT at the moment. Possibly in the future, since Google was able to work out getting VoLTE working with newer Android builds.

I bought my Pixel XL from Google Store. I'm on the AT&T network. I can not find the option to enable wifi calling anywhere (it's not grayed out - on my phone, it doesn't exist). I've tried the two locations I believe its supposed to be. Under Settings - More - and/or under phone - settings - call.
I'm not using a custom ROM. I do have my bootloader unlocked and the device is rooted.
What's up with that?
In the phone diagnostic menu *#*#4636#*#* , there is a WiFi calling provision toggle, is that switch on? I'm personally on Verizon, so I'm not sure WiFi calling will work on att
I think AT&T does not support Wi-Fi calling on Non Branded phones.

This is correct.
Think it would ever be possible to fake your phone to look like some type of ATT branded phone to get wifi calling working?
I'm not sure on what type of security/authentication methods they use to allow wifi calling to work properly.
Considering this device ....... Can anyone tell me if they have been successful at WiFi Calling on AT&T using the pixel XL?
No to WiFi calling on AT&T. No VoLTE either in case you are wondering.

Let me ask this .... Is the setting for WiFi calling there? If it is, will it just not activate?
And if that is the case, has anyone tried calling AT&T with an IMEI change to an att device (from a brother, or cousin or something) that had WiFi calling (like an AT&T S7 Edge or similar)? ..... Then checking to see if it will then activate
I am using an IMEI from an LG V20 from AT&T (had it after the Note 7). No toggle or anything.
I have a Pixel (from Google) running on the Verizon network, and I've enabled wifi calling, which works great..
My friend recently purchased (also from Google) a Pixel XL and he is running it on At&t. He has a need to enable wifi calling also, but isn't seeing it as an option in the XL's settings (even though we both have the same Nougat version [7.1.2], though slightly different builds).
Can anyone first please update me as to whether At&t is supporting wifi calling on a Pixel XL ?
Also, since the phone was purchased directly from Google, why would the wifi calling option not be in the settings? If it were purchased from At&t and they do not (yet) support wifi calling on this phone, I could see why they would hide that feature in the settings, but it's a Google phone ready, willing, and able to be run on any network...!?
Please help educate me on this issue!
Thanks.

At&t is not supporting it on their network. Being that you have a Google version, put a Verizon or TMobile Sim in and Volte with wifi calling will work.

From everything that I have seen wifi calling will NOT work on att.
Just with the Pixel phones though, right? I believe another friend has an iPhone (6S, maybe) which is running on At&t and wifi calling does seem to work on that. So, what gives? Do you know?
Thanks

At&t supports wireless calling for their own branded phones-- iPhones, Galaxy s6,7,8, etc. The pixel will not work with WiFi calling and a few other features on at&t.

Are you in the USA? If so, that is the reason. Xiaomi phones are not whitelisted for wifi calling by ANY carrier here and this is not expected to change soon.
I am presuming you used short codes to turn on Volte successfully. The Wowfi code works also (phone is wifi calling capable) but its carrier disabled.
I bought a paid plan from FreeUP, an ATT MVNO, where you can use an app dialer to make outgoing wifi calls (and free unlimited international calls) but still no incoming wifi calls.
Same pricing as Mint Mobile.
(Fyi, even if you weren't using a global phone the only Android phones guaranteed to get wifi calling here are the ones the carriers here sell ... There are a few exceptions ... The newer pixels and a few others.)
