does anyone faced problems in call quality with coustom ROM - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

With all Coustom roms i find poor call ? quality.
I flet noise cancellation mik is not functioning in coustom rom. Please provide fix for this.

Yes, the call quality is poor. People were complaining about hearing their own voices again, it's annoying, I had to switch back to ZUI for that reason. I hope devs fix it in the upcoming 8.x builds. Till then crap ZUI is the only solution.
Tip: If you're flashing ZUI then don't update to nougat.

nope I don't get any problem regards call quality

I can hear things clearly but the recipient face some trouble .their is do many noise . I felt noise cancellation Mike is not working in custom ROM

There was an update for stock ROM in marshmallow in order to improve volte and call quality. I felt developers please check for those package.

Guys did you find any rom (9.0 preferred) or kernel with fix for that? Lost a job interview bcoz of the bad call quality. I can hear good but the other person struggles.

downloading it, but found out that it was because of high mic volume and it was editable using kernel adiutor. can you give some value. or a screenshot of your kernel aduitor sound section would be fine.

Assistance to choose a good custom rom

Hi guys. I am reading the forums to the different custom ROMS for the ZUK Z2, but I am having trouble to choose the right one. I hope you can help me - I am looking for something close to stock android, support of the U touch gestures and phone calls recorder. Also, Could you recommend only stable roms that possibly offer OTA updates? Many thanks.
You prefer nougat or Oreo?

Well, either one would do. I am currently on Nougat, but I do not mind switching. Whichever one is more stable. Thanks

If you want as less bugs as possible;
You should be on nougat. I recommend jaguar N. Only issue may be battery life according to some users, which is not there according to other users. So try and see if it suits you.
Other updated ROMs include dotOS.

I'm on the Validus Oreo since this morning, and i must say, it's the most stable Oreo rom for me.
I have installed Dolby Atmos, so the sound is very good. The mic is loud on voice messages and camera. I am absolutly happy with this near unknown rom. The rom is very customizable and rock stable.

All this is also good working on this rom. But the sound is still typical Oreo. no bass.
If the sound is importand for you, is better to stay on Nougat at the moment.

Thank.
Is the sound worst than Nougat? in Nougat lack of Bass and I living with that.
Is most important for me Audio in call, Recording (Mic) and it has enough volume... For music I use BT Headphones (Maxwell BT800).... So, how did you get Dolby? Gapps?

Hello,
I am also on Validus rom. It is a very good rom. But what about speaker call quality, do you hear the person without distortion and also in handsfree mode(speaker out) at your side?
Mine is not that great. Also are on standart kernel settings? The default one(bioshock governor) for me was really awful and slow in the beginning but later changed it to alucard and its fast and lagfree.
What did you do also for that great battery consumption? Any extra settings?
Which dolby atmos are you using?
Did you install Dolby atmos?

Hello, since a day ago I am using Validus Oreo and I have a strange problem. All notifications arrive correctly except WhatsApp. I have tried everything and I can not get the notifications from that app to sound but the rest of the ones work correctly. It's my first custom rom so I think I'm going to switch to Lineage, it's a shame because I really liked this rom, I have a Lex727.

No extra settings. Govner i use ondemand, 1500 and 2100 Ghz.
The sound off seaker call is ok but not the best.
Now i am back on Resurrection Nougat. Its about the great sound on this rom with Dolby Atmos and Viber4A installes. I cant live with a metalic sound on my phone. But all Oreo roms cant provide a acceptable frequence range for me.
On the Resurrection rom i can have the most rich sound what is technicaly possible on this phone, and i am happy with it.
it is a decent rom. everything work well. i am happy with it.
It is a great ROM. Some body has fixed the wathssap notificactions?.
Thanks

Hi, go configuration>WolvesDen>System>notifications>smart notification sound>switch to app default
Other things I do was in configuration>battery>Whatsapp>battery optimization>switch to not optimized
With those changes I was able to solve the problems with WhatsApp notifications.
Good luck!!
I have to say the latest version of Validus uploaded yesterday works wonderful well even better than the previous one, the sound still sounds a little bit metallic but everything else perfect.

as addition to that, once whatsapp is opened, you can lock the app after pressing recent button. Then ram management will not close that specific app so it will remain in memory and always be active for notifications.
example below @locoivan01
Worth a try..

I can confirm that the fast charge works at 2000 mah maximum and goes down to 600-400 mah when completing the last 10%, for me it is better this way because the phone does not heat up at all, something that happened with the previous version.
I love this ROM!!

If its so good, why is there no big discussion thread on it here? Any rom without a big discussion thread where users can report their experiences or issues, tips, fixes, etc, is like flashing a rom on the blind. Maybe it is a good rom, but I need to hear that from at least a 100 other users, and only a big discussion thread can reveal that.
Super, great rom !! Three questions: 1. how long the battery life, 2. how to lower the "dock", it is too high or is very wide, I do not know, 3. can you turn on badges with notification numbers? Thanks.

Question best custom rom

So i've recently found out about miuisr and eliterom and idk what to choose. Both look like very good roms but i can't decide. Is there anyone here that could give me some pros and cons of both roms? Or maybe an even better rom.
I like Besto OS rom haven't tried the other 2 your taking about , you try them tell us good luck
Hi the title of "Best ROM" is a bit vague,
there are threads already on XDA like:
Is there any rom that have smart charging like in CrDroid?
I'm looking for rom that have smart charging feature built in rom, is there any rom that still have that feature other than Crdroid 11 ?
forum.xda-developers.com

Hey, I have a Poco F3, I unlocked the bootloader recently, and I want to know which ROM should I get or is the best for you. I tried xiaomi.eu, but I prefer AOSP/pixel (I tried some, but I can't make a choice). What is the best, I know for now...
forum.xda-developers.com
You need to find the rom that best supports your needs, i am a Evo-X User,
its an amazing rom and suits my needs perfectly, other members also rave about crDROID.
I am a fan of Smart Charging, both Evo and crD have this feature.
I would suggest to read my post above before installing ANY roms that have little feedback or support,
also read the "BRICKED MY DEVICE/9008 EDL MODE" threads on here and choose your roms carefully.
all ROMs I have tried have a weird bug nobody talks about. Specific to TIKTOK. When I watch a video while using Bluetooth earphones (I have Anker Soundcore pi2), it's normal. When I go to the next video and then come back to the previous one, the audio is lower for some reason. Then I go to the next video again and go back again, the audio goes back to normal. If you repeat that, it keeps doing it. Audio normal, audio low, audio normal, audio low. Only on TikTok and only on Bluetooth earphones. It's annoying.
Only MIUI and ARROW OS don't have this problem.
Anyone else can check this?

Maybe CrDroid doesn't have this problem because they use their own kernel. Other ROMs that use NOKERNEL, IMMENSITY or NEXUS all have it.
I don't use CrDroid because it doesn't have "hey google" feature even after flashing GAPPS on it. It stays off for some reason.
