There is that grey gradient that will cover the top half of the lockscreen. I can't find any way to remove this, or any lockscreen theme to remove it.
I cant be the only one is bothers, If anybody has a solution to this please share.

Are you using a theme of some kind? It looks like maybe some kind of theme is coloring your notifications Pitch Black, while the rest of the lock screen remains a little bit brighter.

Yes, I am using a theme to make the notifications black. However if they are white, that background gradient is still there.

Just noticed this has started happening with my 3 week old phone. I think the screen is faulty as there's quite a light bleed at the top of the screen in safe mode.

When defining the Fill Mode of a Gradient progress bar, the FG color and Additional Color options seem to define beginning and end gradient colors. How would you get a 3rd color if you wanted to create an effect similar to UCCW "Hollow with gradient" style for a battery gauge?
Anybody?
Anyidea?
Crickets Crickets...... does anybody have any idea on this OP?
Why not create two seperate progressbars (1st from 0-50, 2nd from 51-100, second progressbar beginning with the colour the first one ends with)?

Very nice zephyr1100, I think that is what I was after.... never thought about doing it in 2 parts. Will take a look at what you zipped up. Thanks again.
Here's a screen of it in a circle.
Very nice @Sandman.
I would settle for gradients to work properly for two colors. So much more we could do if they worked.

The easiest way is to make multiples of the same thing with different gradients, or make images in photoshop touch for phone, then pull into ZW.

Gradient IS broken, at least the way it renders on my phone. The color never actually converges to the second color. If you have a pure black object and set the gradient color to pure white it never actually gets to pure white. Same when setting to transparent...it never actually becomes transparent at the edge of the gradient field.
The problem with using Gimp (not going to spend $100 to make widgets, and have no other use for Photoshop) is its kind of a pain to go back and forth. If gradients worked it would cover a ton of my use cases.
I agree. But I was talking about the 4.99 app from the app store.
Check out "Photoshop Touch for phone"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.com.adobe.pstouchphone
It works wonders. ..
Let's see what you got!
I keep getting invalid image file when I use the app and when I go on the internet on my phone to try to post something. I don't know what's up with that.
Here you go. I love this phone. The edge shortcuts allow me to flow back and forth quicker without using multi windows or hitting the home key. The camera is top of the line and the finger print sensor is sweet.

Xposed framework and unicon.
Rooted
Build.prop edit dpi to 590
Dynamic Notification to make my lock screen like the Moto X
G3 Wallpaper with Nova Launcher to organize the screen the way I like it.
The edge panel is really nice in that I can keep the main screen so much cleaner than I used to on my G3 like in the 4th pic.

Edit: also how did he get rid of the S finder and quick connect icons.

Hes running forever locos theme.. your talking about all the toggles and all that. Yes, thats the theme.. mixed with some xposed, blurred systemui for the pulldown blur, and i believe its wanam or gravity box allows the removal of those icons you speak of, but in this case i believe the systemui was modded in the theme to get rid of that. Otherwise check out wanam or gravity

Still trying to make the most out of the edge panel. Love having a clutter free home screen tho!
Nice job everyone! My home screen is still a work in progress but I thought I'd mention one thing I like to do. With "ss launcher" you can extend your home screen vertically. I like it that way cause you can just flick the screen up to get to stuff below. (also applications page scrolls vertical once there). Anyways. here is an example of how the home page is extended vertically. So you see, below the usual home screen, I put an icon, a calendar widget and another widget called "recent apps" which I set to be a 3x3 grid so I can can easily go back and forth between apps one handed.
still mostly stock
Hot Note Edge.
In light of the fact there's no real root I figured I must DO something to this phone! I MUST make it different than Samsung intended. I was going thru withdrawal. Really. I got to messing around with different Samsung themes (black is Always Right and all of that developers dark themes are pretty dope..btw); but I found in the process many of the s8 unrooted mods usually work. Do some research but I've personally used better nav colors, remove lock text, remove lock carrier name, more precise animation scale, transparent qs, different nav buttons etc. And they are mostly apks, so no struggle. At all. Overlay apks also work too.
Not taking credit for any of this and props to the developer/s. I'm just sharing. Here's a link to one of the best list I've found.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/themes/mods-small-collection-tweaks-t3657119
Even though it's a substratum thread the mods work without it. I tried substratum but it didn't play nice with my phone. Look for s8 threads in theme section by tigerhood and also clck. Most of their apks work on our phone.
Anyway maybe this is common knowledge but i couldn't find it anywhere else on the board so don't roast me if its nothing special. Lol
Thanks for this link, I have been looking and waiting for a long time for a way to hide the clock and battery icon in the status bar and this mod worked perfectly.

Lots of options for nav bar.
Here is a list of nav bar layers plus many more.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73042403&postcount=1442
With substratum you have lots of choices too.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/themes/theme-statusbar-icons-extras-samsung-t3674792
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ami.vividiconset
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/themes/substratum-inversion-ui-overlay-overlays-t3604341
Most of these work. Check the links at the bottom too. I can't remember where I got my nav shown in the picture but I've had no issues with any. Only ones seems not to work are those that try to adjust the nav bar height. It doesn't break anything you just don't see any change in the size.
Other than that you have to reinstall all your overlays again if you change your theme.
Nav bar shown apk below. Works 100%
Again, I take no credit for these and props to the developer/s.
The closest I can get to all black UI is by using Mini Black Edition V2 from the Samsung theme store and Swift Black overlays. I still have white pull down notifications and white nav bar when the keyboard is shown.
Is there a way to black out the pull down notifications and nav bar while the keyboard is shown ?
There's an apk around on one of the links I posted or somewhere else, I can't remember, with an overlay that gives you a black notification panel. It looks really nice, but you can't see the text on notifications very well.
For the black nav bar use the following by Draco.
Edit: first post on this link is the best list I've found. I've tried many of them and they work just fine. Props to the developers and the member who pulled them all together in one place.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73042403&postcount=1442

Use any of the ones that are system ui black notification. It should say that or something like that when you install. Then install the custom grey/ black notification. Or use any of the grey notification only ones and then the custom grey/ black

Has anyone else got this on the 5t?
It happens on some non-stock apps and makes them look crap!
That's the way it was designed. You could always use a 3rd party app (Navbar Apps, for example) to make the navbar match the notification bar, but I think the off white bar they chose is a good one. Samsung and LG do the same thing.
I, for one, have never been a fan of the black navbar. It just makes it look like there is a lot of wasted space.

Hi.
So I just bought my OP5T, and I can't believe how frustrating that is. The nav bar stays white on apps with a dark theme(Reddit is Fun for example) and there is no easy way to change it. I've tried the app recommended above(Navbar Apps) but it seems to be overriden by the system - if I select solid black for the navbar it switches to black for half a second and then goes back to white. Any other way to fix it, anyone?

Have you tried the dark theme on the 5T? Not sure if that makes a difference.
Yep, even with the dark theme the nav bar stays white, which makes me think this is actually unintended. Surely with the dark theme the bar should become black, but it's still white.
I know there is a setting in Navbar Apps where you can choose your own custom color and override the system. Have you given that a shot?
Yep - I've tried both override using the status bar colour and specific colour per app - neither one works. Well, it switches to black for very short time and then goes back to white. I'll try to make a video to submit to the author of the app.
So this is what happens with the Navbar Apps application - I just sent an email to the developer, hopefully he knows how to fix it!

It started bothering me the very first night I got the phone - I was in my bed, in darkness, had a dark-themed app opened....and the nav bar was blinding white in the darkness. Auto-hide on the bar helps, but then it's annoying to swipe up every time you want to use it.

Yeah, I mean it feels like a bug that the nav bar is not dark when using a dark theme.
I would suggest using the OnePlus official forums and their feedback system to make some suggestions to them.
Just use the "Hide navigation bar" in the Settings->Buttons menu. It does the trick for me at least, and I like it better

So far the only ones i know about are "Amoled" and "Galaxy", both by the same developer maxelus.net. They're very nice wallpapers with a lot of customization options. So if you guys know of any others please share.

You should give the ones I mentioned a shot. There's free versions of both, but you gotta be on 8.1 for the dark mode to work though.
The darker wallpapers in tapet trigger the dark theme, but I've found even with just setting an image they have to be very dark before triggering this....
Attached a dark wallpapers generated by tapet, and a fairly dark black and white image that didn't trigger it.
Seems to need a certain amount of black to switch to dark..
*Edit* first screenshot since getting the 2xl, screenshots have square edges behind the round corners....
