Hi,
I've noticed that, when I have "display always on" enabled with time showing on display, if I receive notification, whole display flashes white for 1 ms and then it shows notification icon etc.
I can reproduce the issue every 2nd time if I put the phone in my pocket and take it out. You don't need to press any button.
Anyone else having the same issue?
Yes, I have the same issue but I find mine does this more commonly than the specific method you mention. I've noticed it when I turn on the display or sometimes when switching between apps. I've talked to Google and they are processing a return for me. I had a Pixel 2 that I returned twice due to random reboots - now this Pixel 2 XL shows flashing and I'm seeing some random reboots too!
Man, I'm just getting tired of these issues!
Hi and thanks for replying. I, somehow, totally missed your response.
I did also talk to Google Support and new pixel 2 xl is on its way. I really really hope I wont get the same issues again :S

Hey there.. I just installed the Energy ROM after having received this phone as a gift from a friend (with an unknown other ROM installed). I haven't had any problems with it for several weeks until just earlier today when the Quick List has decided to randomly start appearing on my screen. I don't even know how to trigger that screen to appear myself, but I can leave my phone unlocked on my desk and it'll randomly show the Quick List for a little while, then it'll vanish, sometimes extremely quickly. But I can't do anything on the phone anymore since it's constantly appearing and interrupting whatever I'm trying to do.
Like I said, I attempted to install an Energy ROM (Energy.RHODIUM.21916.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.Mar.08.7z, according to the file I downloaded from the Energy website) and it just finished no more than 30 minutes ago. As soon as I turned the phone back on from a reboot, that dang Quick List screen appeared.
Does anyone know why it keeps popping up and how I can get it to quit? Or is there some way I can just disable the Quick List altogether (as the options on it aren't really useful anyway..)? Thanks for any help ya'll can provide!
Started having this problem a few weeks ago. Did some hardresets, some task29 and tried different roms. But this quick list keeps appearing outof nowhere. Starts to get frustrating.
It's happening again...
So, for no reason that I could tell, it magically started working again (same rom as listed above) and I never saw the Quick List window again until today.
Today, I was using that same ROM as before, but the Quick List window started appearing. I thought that perhaps it was just something to do with that build, so I upgraded to the English build available at (well, tried giving the link but apparently I haven't posted enough, so never mind). It's at "http : // Energy Roms dot com forward slash www forward slash flavors forward slash sencity.html" for the HTC Touch Pro 2 Cookie (April 8, 2011 version). The ROM installs without a problem (absent the annoying attempts to get the phone to not constantly display the Quick List) but as soon as I power the phone on, the Quick List starts blinking on again.
I searched around as before for a solution and thought I could just disable the setting so that when I hold the end call button, it displays the Quick List, but after 10+ attempts to get to the settings window without the Quick List appearing and interrupting me (then closing itself automatically and displaying the Home screen), I finally got the setting saved and it didn't change anything.
Is it possible to just turn the Quick List feature off? Is there some known reason why it has possessed my phone? Thanks for any help ya'll can give.
Is there still no solution for self appearing Quick List? because I have the same problem :/
EDIT:
I've solved it The front keys flex need to be reconnected to main flex because "endkey" was self pushed what in energy rom is configured to turn on Quick List.
Hello,
I've had the zenfone 2 for about a month now and there is an ongoing problem with my contacts:
- When I go to my text messages (also sometimes whatsapp logs) the contact names are gone and only the numbers show.
- When I go to the phone dialer, it just keeps loading and nothing comes up, or sometimes the dialer loads but my recent calls log is gone.
- When I go to my contacts page it is empty.
(I have screenshots of the above issues for clarification)
I can solve this problem temporarily by emptying the cache of the "contacts" app and the "asus calling screen" app, but the phone keeps glitching at least once a day.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Does anybody have a solution for this issue?
Thanks,
Ariel
Same issues as your Zenfone 2

1 - I have seen this as well
2 - Same here
3 - Same here
What I have noticed is the following:
4 - When I go to dialer, it takes literally over 15-20 seconds to pull up the call log history. It almost seems like its searching for this data and then there is a delay in posting it.
5 - SMS app (regardless of which one it is, have used stock, GoSMS, ChompSMS, others) hangs up, starts doing weird things, as if the processor is trying to play catch-up with the buttons pressed. If I let it be, it comes back to the last commands pressed. Reminds me of the old Microsoft windows days...
6 - Battery is draining very very fast. I see a full charge around 6:30AM, then the phone reaches 40% by noon. This started happening a few weeks ago, so I am thinking a software update caused this issue.
7 - Bluetooth communications with the car console is very slow. It sometimes takes 15-20 seconds for the phone to drop the call if I press the hangup button on the steering wheel of my car.
8 - Really close to giving up on Android. Can anyone help?
Is there an ASUS live customer support that I can call for help? Does anyone have this number handy?

Same here
Yep - can confirm. I have the same issue.
One thing that worked for me was selecting the 'Contacts to display' tab and removing some of the sources.
I thought that since it was polling information from so many different sources at real time, it might be slowing down.
This temporarily worked, but the issue came back.
Extremely frustrating problem - you don't expect these kinds of bugs to make their way through QC.
This is what fixed most of my issues

I flushed application cache for contacts and a few other apps, and restarted the phone. Contacts were fine afterwards.
was the issue solved or there is a suggestion how to solve it?
I have the same issue..Any solution??
Clear data option for all Asus apps which will clear cache itself. Or you can hard reset your phone.
Sometimes, not always, when I restart my phone, things get a little crazy and somehow they must be all related. It happens as often as approx once a week. What happens is the following things:
1- I get an email from Where's My Droid that my SIM card or phone number has changed
2- Network-provided time zone changes to Central European Summertime
3- Wifi calling is turned off (however this doesn't normally stay on for some reason)
4- Visual voicemail in the phone app is missing despite still being turned on
5 - APN is not selected (the circle next to Verizon is empty aka does not have the blue dot in it)
I am on 7.1.2 and rooted. Does this happen to anyone else and is there any fix? What could be the cause?
Edit: I doubt this is related, but since I am looking for general feedback for strange bugs with my phone...
Another thing that happens is sometimes while using my phone, apps randomly reload (lack of a better word)
By reload, what happens is the app does not fully close and reopen. What happens is the app remains open ("heading" bar at the top remains) but the rest of the page I am on goes completely blank and then returns with any previous changes undone.
So say I was writing an email in gmail, the red bar at the top with the back arrow and trash can, etc. stays while the rest goes blank and any text I wrote will be gone and I have to start from the beginning. Usually when this is happening, it continues to happen repetitively for a little while. Eventually it just stops on its own. It does not seem to be related to any specific app (since it happens with a bunch of apps) unless maybe it is related to something like Swype keyboard that is always on.
Does that happen to anyone else too? What is causing this??
If your phone is 128g your nand is bad and you need a replacement. Google is aware of the issue and should swap no problem.

Hi all,
My father and I both have the Pixel 2 XL and he's having a problem where there is a flashy overlay when he gets a phone call and we can't figure out what's causing it. I was thinking that it may have come from a slot machine game that he downloaded from the Play Store, but it's still there after uninstalling. The only thing that changed is that the answer/decline option at the top of the screen is now available. Before uninstalling, he would have to click the green answer icon and then have to swipe up to actually answer the call.
I attached a screenshot of the issue below.
Would anyone happen to know what's causing it and know how to remove this?
Thanks in advance!
Well, we can call this an open and shut case. While waiting for a doctor appointment, my dad decided to delete a bunch of different apps and the issue is fixed. I have no idea which one caused it, but it's gone.
Now I just hope he didn't delete anything important...
Hello guys!
lately I have noticed that I am not getting notifications on the phone in the real-time when it supposed to come. Etc whatsapp messages, Snapchat notifications, Instagram, Emails... You name it.
What I have realized is that I can see that the Wi-Fi connection gets a "Limitation use" or loses the connection but then reconnects again but whenever that happens then I will stop continue getting any notification and I need to turn off and on pretty often.
What is working is that everytime I turn on to 4G instantly I am getting all missed notifications.
I have asked around in my house and nobody has that issue and I do realize it is only on my side and what I have tried to do is:
- I have bought new Router just incase (Still same issue)
- I used same SSID for 2.4 and 5GZ (Still same issue)
- I have seperated 2.4 and 5 (still same issue for each band)
- Rebooted multiply time, even shutdown during the night (Still same issue
And I believe thats about it.
I am using Google Pixel 2 XL and I am using Android beta 5 and this have been working fine until 2 weeks so I am sure it is nothing related to Beta I believe since I have tried to search around for those problems in beta and nobody seems to have that issue.
I would appreciate all kind of help!
