Screen off fade animation - Lenovo P2 Questions & Answers

Hi, first post here, this is probably nitpicking, but is there a way to change the animation when the screen dims and switches off? Right now it goes abruptly, I wondered if there was a way to make it fade like pretty much any other phone. Thanks.

I found an old xposed module "ScreenOffAnimation" working. For anybody interested, remember to reboot twice to make it work.

changing backround image -> too bright?

Hi there...
I just got mine and first thing I wanted to change was the background image.
1) disabled TouchFlo3D in settings->home>elements
2) tried to set background image
my problem: The background image appears very bright almost white, so i cant really see it and because it is so white i almost cant read any words...
Any suggestions?
Thanks
AO
any idea ? no one?
bump it up, baby
use the pic and video viewer and select the picture (you know hold your finger or stylus so it does the lil circle thing) then pick the set as today background option and it will let you set the transparency level it will only work with the standard WM screen (thats what i call the screen from the wing anyway) and not touch flo

Hey, you posted this same question on another thread in the Themes section. It's already been answered. Don't start multiple threads going forward please. It just makes a mess and it seems you can't even track all of them when they've been responded to.
ok... sry ..
And thanks for the answer: worked well!

move icons/shortcuts

OK, I TRIED searching, honest I did! I have a screen full of icons and shortcuts and I want to move them all to an adjacent screen. I know I can just delete them all and add them to the screen I want them on, but it seems like there's got to be a way to move an icon or shortcut one screen over. I've tried dragging one to the edge of the screen and it kinda looks like the screen wants to slide over, but I can't quite make it happen.
Any thoughts welcome!
Thanks,
Erik
EDIT: OK, I'm an idiot. I figured it out. Sorry for the intrusion. You just have to hold the icon on the screen boundary for a few seconds before the next screen comes into view.

[Request] Screen off notifications

Not sure if this is possible but I would pay to see an app/mod that allows only the status bar to be displayed when the screen is off. I had Pandora hang on me this morning with a black screen and just the status bar visible and it showed all the info I need to know at a quick glance. Hope this is the right section, debated on weather this should be in the General section but mods move if you wish.
So you wanna shut off 95% of the screen only? Highly unlikely.

With the Super AMOLED Plus display, black color = pixel off (screen off for that part) so If there is way to wake the screen and show a black screen with just a notification, what the OP wants IS possible... I think some apps have the ability to wake the screen, i think the issue is the lock screen would show, no?

There is something for the Nexus S becasue it doesn't have the LED light. I think it's called "no led" or something similar on the Market. It will display notifications on the screen while the phone is sleeping.
+1, Just get NoLed from the market...

I had that app for my NS4G and thats not what I want nor did it work very well.
But NoLED is where I got the idea from. If they can display that info why can't someone write an app that displays just the notification bar?
Thank you japper88 for clarifying the screen tech to the 2nd poster.
A black background for all but the notification would be fine but a) the lockscreens gonna show unless you find a way to disable it completely which would then go straight to your homescreen and b) i wouldnt think you could keep 95% of the screen off which is what your asking to do isnt it? If so i dont care what screen you have i highly doubt thats possible.
Maybe modding the lockscreen with a black wallpaper and removing the clock would work.

Again, when the screen displays black #000000 the pixels are off. That is the beauty of the SAMOLED+ screen. It is also like that with the SAMOLED used in the NS4G. It is possible to do what I'm asking. Just need some direction from another section on this board witch is what I'm doing. I will post here when I get it working.

Sounds like a good solution until someone writes an app. Also add missed it app for sleek customizable missed call/text/email app

[Q] Disable soft key lights? Change lockscreen? (CleanGB 1.12)

Some time ago, there was a thread about how to disable the soft keys and keyboard lights. I read a lot of ebooks at night and it would be wonderful if there was some way to toggle those on and off. I'm not that knowledgeable about scripting and the like, that thread was beyond me. Is there an easy way to do this?
Another minor issue the CleanGB 1.12 lock screen. Great rom overall, very stable, but I have some trouble with the right to left swipe of the standard lock. Is there some way to change this to the upward swipe method?
Thanks for your help, I always feel a little out of my depth with significant modifications.

Don't know about the lights but the lockscreen is right in the OP. He gave people the choice of lockscreens.
Sorry, I didn't see the checkbox for which lock screen was the default. I guess it's the touchwiz version i'm after. No thoughts about soft lights?

Yeah he has a Touchwiz flashable lockscreen in the OP. As for the lights best solution is 2 words....black tape. I had heard some ROMs I think CM7 had linked those lights to the keyboard timeout.

There were some promising suggestions in the second page of that thread, though I'm unsure how to implement them. Navigating to those files in root explorer and modifying them doesn't seem to do much.

I've noticed that my phone stays on a little longer at the lock-screen with the occasional icon at the top popping up (it looks like some sort of eye? There's a setting called "Smart stay" in the Display settings, so I assume this is what I am experiencing?
edit:
Guess that doesn't really help much, but it does extend it for quite a while if you can keep eye contact with whatever is tracking your eye motions? XD

Thanks but I don't like smart stay. I used the app called " Screebl", it's way better plus it works on staying on based on the angles your phone is at. I like to read news and sports so I want the screen to stay on until I'm done. Screebl allows you to adjust to the lowest time out setting, but it seems the lock screen shorter than 15 sec. The lock screen time out doesn't seem to be tied to the system timeout

That's pretty neat! Now that you mention it though, I too was unable to keep my screen on longer than around that same time o3o can't imagine why I would need the lockscreen to stay on, but I hope you find a solution d:
