I got my Pixel 2 XL yesterday
Upgrade to my 1.Gerneration Pixel XL
This morning i got a OTA Update push (100MB) and I now have the Version
OPD2.170816.017
Normally I would see on the Firmware Page from Google the Previous and actuall files.
But, I am not seeing a OPD2 on the Google page, and the version 17 is also not appearing.
Anyone know what the Deal ist?
Was is a OPD1 or OPD2?
With my old Nexus Phone or Pixel I could pull the image and sideload it.
But right now, I have a little fear and have no idea which file ist correct.
The Website makes a Jump from 12 to the 25 Firmware....
Can anyone help me out?
It seems its not up to date yet. so just wait, at least when we arrive dec 17 patches it will be shown or integrated then.
OPD2.170816.015 is shown for Pixel 2, OPD2.170816.017 is not shown yet for Pixel 2 XL, maybe google will add it or you willst just receive an OTA in dec 17 with security patches.
There is no need for now to start flashing to a factory image unless your phone is broken (then i would flash the non-verizon build). No one will know why google is doing that, the device has been just released yet in germany.

I just got the OTA for 7.1.1 on my unlocked Pixel XL in the UK yesterday and the build number says NMF26Q. I cannot seem to find this build number anywhere, not even on the Google OTA listings (latest one there is NMF26O). Has anyone else received this as well?
I'm stock and unrooted.
Not surprised to hear this. The OTAs must not be unified across the 3 variants (Europe, Verizon, US/Other) as we've seen historically so far with the previous builds . The only differences are likely to be small things related to the carriers/telecoms of the particular region, like baseband changes, maybe VoLTE/Wifi Calling stuff, etc.
Wish Google would label the updates right for regions if they're gonna do this though.
Aaaand of course as I type this a check the wesbite actually does say "Europe" and "Verizon" in them

I agree.
Not for the 7.1.1 version though. I only see the NMF26O build, and it's simply labeled as Dec 2016.
I also got a new update after flashing the one Google released and it's 800MB :S

O2
Just got NMF26Q as well in the UK.
I adb side loaded the 26O the day before yesterday, and got 26Q the next day too. Also in the UK and on O2, although the handset is unlocked.

I have seen today .. that Verizon's "Device Updates Software Support" site .. under Google - it shows that the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL received an update with the May Security Patch .. OPM2.171019.029.B1 is what's listed .. however, my OTA is not grabbing it and more interesting enough .. the update is not even listed up on Google's "Factory Images for Nexus and Pixel Devices" !!
Verizon update site : https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/google-pixel-2-xl-update/
Google update site : https://developers.google.com/android/images#taimen
Anyone know anything about this ?

My wife has an unlocked N920A note 5 that she uses with Ting. While investigating some unrelated battery issues she was suffering from (a game she played was consuming battery in the background) I noticed her last security patch was listed as Oct 2016. The software update button says she's at the most current, but she doesn't have an AT&T sim in the phone so I don't know if that's actually checking. I tried updating via Samsung's smart connect but that claims her phone is up to date as well. Oct 2016 seems rather old for security patches though; sadly I'm largely in the dark when it comes to flashes/modding phones. I've seen the threads here describing update steps, but the baseband version is listed N920AUCS3CPJ1 which seems to be an even earlier baseband version than any update guide I've found starts with. Is there anyway she can update her phone further, officially or otherwise? Would an AT&T sim possibly help, or is Oct 2016 actually the last security update the N920As received?

I have the same problem, but the last update on mine is Aug 1, 2017! I just found this site from ATT and the latest update is July 2, 2018?!!
I reinstall smart switch twice but still says I have the latest update?.
Google ( Software update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 (N920A) ) and click the first link from att and you will what's the latest update.
You would be the first person around here to have seen a device with an intact PJ1 Bootloader though. Old Post, but do you still have it? All the downloadable versions I ever heard of came with a corupted BL so it won't flash.
Is it possible to upgrade to nougat with a N920AUCS3CPJ1 device running marshmallow?
As anyone received an update to May's security patch? Even Samsung devices are more up to date, I thought by getting a Pixel this would be guaranteed... It seems there are issues with updates for this phone, I mean, pulling this device from the beta program, for the Android Q and no updates so far, strange...
Would like to see if anyone knows what could be causing this delay.
Yes we all know. June you'll get everything. Probably on the 3rd. It's been announced over and over. Google search for Pixel 3a security update shows this:
https://9to5google.com/2019/05/10/pixel-3a-security-patch-old/
You could have done that yourself in less time it took to post this.
Without waiting until June when they issue patches for this device, the only way to update your security level at this time is by manually flashing the Q beta from the full factory images (you can only do this if your device is bootloader-unlocked).
Otherwise, as the other user stated, updates will start in June, including Q beta OTA enrollment.
@pntballer505 reports getting the .037.A1 OTA on Verizon at post #138.
Old Verizon OTAs:
Several reports of the actual Verizon .036.A1 OTA, starting with @stevek216 at post #126.

Checking for the software update
[Please check your device to see if you already have the latest software installed. Verify your Build number matches the official build by checking Settings -> About phone -> Build number. See section below]
After you complete the phone setup, the software update automatically downloads silently in the background. After the download completes, it will prompt you to reboot the phone. In case the software update is not seen, follow the instructions below:
Go to Settings -> System -> System update -> Check for update
Install the software update
Depending on your network connection speed and amount of apps involved, this will take about 25-50 minutes
Reboot the device after taking the update
Updating your apps
Many of the key apps have new features and improvements for Pixel 6. Please check to make sure that your apps are up to date by going to Play Store -> Your Account Icon -> Manage apps & device -> Update all.
Timing
Due to deployment timelines and staged rollouts, some updates may not be available until 10/28.
Software update Build number
After the software update, your device software version (Settings -> About phone -> Build number) will be be one of the following:
SD1A.210817.036
SD1A.210817.036.A8 (Verizon customers)

Mine is updating now, 64.35 MB, I'll update with before and after build numbers when it finishes.
EDIT: Almost an hour later and it's still optimizing apps, around 50%. Took about an hour and a half and a reboot, finally updated.

It will come if they build it. I setup and popped the sim in. Be patient. It takes an hour to download. Damn. It's still updating. Best phone I ever had. I don't understand these complainers
I have an unlocked Pro used on Verizon but didn't get an update. Currently on SD1A.210817.019.C2

My P6 Pro still can't find the update
Supposedly the update should fix my fingerprint reading issues, so I'm sorta stoked to see that one comin' rather sooner than late.
Any way to force it? Stil no factory images/OTA, so I'm out of options.
No update here yet either (Google Store Unlocked on the Verizon network).

Does it really fix fingerprint issues? do we have the changelog?
No changelog yet that I am aware of, only reports of people claiming that after the update you have to re-learn the fingerprint scanner and then it supposedly works better.
thx, could be just feeling
