Hi all
I'm looking for a tool with which you can unpack Xiaomi Roms.
I would like to extract the Stockrecovery from Rom.
Can someone help me?

Just download the fastboot file of your preferred edition for Mi MIX 2 here: http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
Extract it with 7zip -> http://www.7-zip.org
And take a look in the "images" subfolder where the recovery.img resides.

First of all thanks for your answer.
Is it possible to unpack the System.img as well?
Is there perhaps a tool for it?

Trying to extract the stock gnex 4.2.1 kernel jop40g from jellyb tsm build17 ROM because I really can't find a zip for it anywhere can anyone help me identify the kernel. Not sure which boot.IMG file it is, there are a few. Thanks

There's only one boot.img inside a recovery-flash-ready ROM zip.

No there's a boot.IMG file by itself not in a folder, then theres a kernel folder with an mkbootimg, mkbootimg.sh, and unpackbootimg
Do I have to extract them all and compress them into one zip or do I just need one of them? I've searched a lot of threads and couldn't find anything that was specific enough to help.

I think I got it

mkbootimg/mkbootimg.sh and unpackbootimg are there most likely to unpack your current ramdisk

I flashed the rom on my Liquid E2 with your boot.img but it doesn't boot. It doesn't load even the bootanimation
you must wipe data or factory reset and wipe chace before install it.. don't forget download patch and unpack rom stairway and overwrite the files.. if still doesn't work maybe you dont have cwm support kk:what:

In fact I got confused, I built the boot.img for CM10.2 .
Sorry
bro, what tools to pack zImage and ramdisk? I have zImage and ramdisk which has been extracted.
I usually use cygwin to pack and unpack boot.img .. but there is no zimage.

Sincerely I hate cygwin, I use this tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2036528
You only have to drag and drop your boot.img over MTK_unpack.bat script.
After that in extracted folder you should have 5 files and 1 folder.
kernel and kernel_header are zimage files, the rest it's ramdisk
waiting stable version for cm11.
