pixel c soft brick - Pixel C Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone
I signed for Oreo beta program and after several updates pixel c is showing this, no root and bootloader is locked, any fix, is it a serious problem?

Try sideloading the latest ota.zip in recovery. I'm not sure if this will work since you're on the beta ota but it's worth a try.

Can't root after marshmallow update

Hi everyone,
I have a dev edition m9. I updated to marshmallow via OTA earlier today. The update is working fine. I flashed TWRP 2.8.7.0 and that's working fine as well. But when I try to root the system, it gets stuck on the HTC logo. I have tried it with SuperSU 2.46 (stable) and 2.52 (beta). Both times, I had to reboot into recovery, wipe cache and restore the system image backup to get my system back in working state. Please help as I need root access. Thanks.
U have to change bootloader with marshmallow

Your bootloader is the animation when u power on the device watch the videos on YouTube ...just search nexus 5x root there are a few I know its a different phone than u have but the process will be very similar

It talks about flashing a modified boot. I haven't seen any boot image corresponding to the M9.
U said u just got the ota today ,correct?.... Just keep checking in for it ....I'm sure it'll be available in a week or two

@bigduke$: That's not really the solution for that problem. The M9 doesn't get rooted the same way the Nexus 5x does.
@slvrhwk: You need to use SuperSU 2.65 and TWRP 2.8.7.1-Beta1. Android M needs system-less root that's why your system didn't boot.

you can download and install with unlocked bootloader and s-off as long as you have a unmodified system and stock recovery

Q/A: How to Unlock Zenfone 2 ZE550ML/ZE551ML's Bootloader by Unofficial Method?

Hello guys, i'm planning to unlock my phone's bootloader, since its my first time on my Zenfone(I only use tethered recovery to flash root and xposed, i also have experience of unlocking the bootloader before on my previous device Xperia ZR but done it in a official way) i was wondering if the unofficial method i'm reading on some sites won't void my Asus warranty?
If any of this links is the right tutorial for unlocking bootloader in a unofficial way, kindly tell me if its still working for the latest 2.20.40.184 LP Firmware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenf...-root-t3155884
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenf...ocked-t3138547
Plz correct the links above
This is the correct link http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/general/congrats-to-bootlocker-unlocked-t3138547
Try it with the current firmware if it doesn't work then u can try dowgrading
U should see a white boot screen instead of black if its unlocked

I see, after using the unofficial unlocker asus won't recognize my device from using it right? so i still got my warranty even if i flash MM Beta to relock my bootloader?

Yes if they don't find it via other means then u r ok with warranty
I don't recommend flashing the MM Beta Firmware cause it can potentially brick ur device

Actually, i already tried MM Beta before but i got annoyed by the bugs and lack of root functionality before so i reverted back to LP Stock.
Gonna wait for the MM Final release instead, atleast now i know how to unlock bootloader when MM Final is release incase there's no Tethered Recovery yet. thanks again for the response and tip.

I highly doubt that the current bootloader unlock method would work on MM Official release cause it doesnt work on MM Beta
Maybe some new method will be sorted out:fingers-crossed:

Root for 7.0 available before I update and loose 6.0.1 ?

So I just got a zplay it's still on 6.0.1 can I root this if I update to nougat... as well as unlock the bootloader I don't want to loose the opportunity on 6.0.1 before I make the mistake of updating to Nougat. I have looked around no real info about it seemingly.

Basically if you have an unlockable bootloader, you're fine no matter the version of android. If you have the verizon version, you might as well just update to nougat. There will never be an unlocked BL for it so there will never be a way to get it to boot with root..
So where's the method and guide to rooting the best buy Unlocked model this is not a carrier model and definitely not Verizon I updated I know how to unlock bootloader but is there a special systemless root zip to apply in twrp?

Installing TWRP is a fairly easy procedure. So is rooting. Just do a quick XDA or Google search and you'll see all the procedures and steps there. There are several custom ROMs available as well.

I would suggest, however, that unless you are going the way of full customizable roms to stay away from TWRP install. With the way that this phone is setup, TWRP it his or miss whether it works or not. Just my opinion, take it or leave it.

I agree.
I just boot to TWRP when I need it through fastboot.
TMobile version can be unlocked, really?
Only verizon has a locked down bootloader afaik.

I thought I read Sprint is locked too
Pixel 3 XL, haven't crashed it, YET
I think the sprint version has some issues with radio/signal, but it is unlockable. I know of people running custom roms on it.
