I have just come across an unreleased phone / rom and doing some testing but it's taking a little longer then normal due to servers being based in china, Anyway this rom is off the Moto XT1799-2 and is another MONTANA rom.? By the looks of it and it seems like a G5S version with a plastic back over a aluminium back or just a cover .. Even the model number is close to my version XT1797.. Even some of the comments seems that it does work on the G5S but i need to wait now around 6 hours for it to download .. By the way 20 mbps has become useless on this phone via 4g for some odd reason keeps dipping in and out but my other sim with 6 mbps 4g is stable plus with both sims in the signal goes nuts also am thinking this system isn't best suited for this model and the reason i wish to flash this rom even specs are so a like with Chinese versions but they use ZUL over the other versions released internationally i think there maybe a lot of bugs in the international version .. Anyway this is a budget phone going of Chinese sites and Lenovo / Motorola are just cashing in on tweaks phones without testing even Lenovo / Motorola China the people get well looked after on testing by the looks of it with there testing programs .. Bloody hell 12 hr 30mins later still downloading 1.20GB / 1.87GB the rate this is going should be tomorrow done baidu is so crap for downloading stuff from even had connections stop x amount of times while downloading this seems like am having a bad china day .. ?

I have bought Lenovo z2/plus in April 2017 and got the ota for 7.0. I installed and tbe phone works fine. One day back I installed RR-N-v5.8.3-20170622-z2_plus.zip in the phone with clean flash. But I am facing some problems
1. I can't fund magisk on my phone.

Hello, I'm from Peru and I have the dual SIM version xt1710-06 Retla ... I do not know what happened, the phone stayed in the November patch and the OTAS that are in XDA with the December patch are not compatible. I read in Brazilian forums that for this phone the patches are different because it is dual SIM and that its official provider is Motorola and not a mobile operator. in the end all the variants work the same but it is for a specific region .. in Brazil they use the variant -07 in Europe it is -09 Asia I think it is -10 and china -11

It's XT1710-xx not XT1701-xx
You want XT1710-01.
That is the US Unlocked version, with unlockable bootloader.
I'm on Verizon, also.
The -06 is a dual SIM version with North American GSM LTE frequencies. It won't work with Verizon.
My Z2 Play from AT&T Mexico is single SIM and is a XT1710-06

Always get a 255 error and even tried the, delete first to lines from that note pad file trick. No go. Any got an lineage 15 or 15.1 that is not in that g drive everyone is linking?

Instead of using twrp-3.2.1-0.img again, another thread mentioned twrp-3.2.1-0-albus.img for installing LOS 15.1. Everything you guys posted was spot on. I am using Android Q beta on my Asus Zenfone 5z. I would suggest don't install it. It is stable enough to be used but there is no update apart from the first release. It is stuck in May 2019 update and there seems to be no movement on this. You will lose the wide-angle camera and 4k 60fps video recording. Recently I am facing issue regarding Sim card ie, If I put the phone on flight mode or restart the phone then I have no network. I have to remove the sim slot and press the phone in the same area and then it works. It is smoother than ZenUI but I would suggest don't use it yet at least till they update to latest beta.

Thanks alot! I did installed it too but few months back and immediately reverted, that why I asked being in july now. Its really disappointing Asus being so slow for flagship phones and their customer service don't even know how to resolve few things. They just tell us to go to service centres which also don't have any knowledge. They don't listen to customers and fix issues thru software updates. Pixel phones are on beta version 5 now and our may release is I believe the third and that sucks.

Hey buddy android q beta 6 is out today, though its stock android and not supporting volte, 6 is final so i'll better wait for official one from Asus it'll be here next month probably. Cheers!

I have installed q beta and used for few months, then decided to revert back, i dont know what wrong i did in fastboot mode, i struck in fastboot mode and could not boot my 5z, i tried all firmware versions, can you guide me how to revert back to stock rom, iam in fastboot mode now, active partition showing is 'a'.

Yes... I'm currently on ZenUi 6.0 with Android 10 on my Zenfone 5z 100.04.44.67
I'm on 100.04.44.67 and using this update from day1 it rolled out...and According to my experience till now, I faced this issues:
1st major issue:- It has 1 major bug in my case... during the*phone call*earpiece doesn't works needs to plug-in the earphones or use in speaker mode.
2nd:-Another issue is call of duty game restarts 1 time in battleground mode in each match, the game hangs and then we need to close the*app*n launch it again. You will be in the same position in the game again. This happens only in multiplayer battleground mode and only happens once per match.
3rd:- It isn't a stable update, its a beta 1*users*Android 10 update, so there are some bugs.
Till now i have came across those bugs.....apart from this Zen Ui 6.0 on top on Android 10 is pretty nice. Stock Android with extra features just like oxygen os.
The beta 2 fixes most of the beta 1 issue and is really smooth.

I used this one for my XT1952-4...
The build is for XT1952-2 (posted by αℓ૯×12345) but I went ahead and tried it. So far (couple days now) it is working pretty well. I've connected it to my WiFi and I've been surfing the internet. Also, Google Play Store works.

In the directions, Linuxassassin leaves out what turned out to be an important step for me, which is after I fastbooted the TWRP image linked to in that thread, I needed to select Wipe from the TWRP menu and then Format Data. I needed to do that to remove the encryption from the file system so that it was usable for the rest of the steps for installing TWRP. As already stated, it is working pretty well at the moment.

Sorry folks. New here; don't know how to edit my posts ...Edit: Now there's an edit button... huh. OK.
Ran into a little problem if you are rebooting from TWRP when the above stuff has been done.
When rebooting from TWRP using the TWRP image in the above thread, and it gives you the options to "Prompt to install TWRP app if not installed" and "Install as system app" be sure NOT to install them. Press the button that says "Do Not Install." If you do install them, it causes the boot to hang up on the "android" screen. I fixed the problem by going back into TWRP, wiping the system partition, and reinstalling the custom ROM image.
Anyway, hope this helps someone.

What ROM are you porting? Id be willing to test on my RETGB (XT1952-1 iirc) as the firmware is quite similar between devices.

we are currently having issues with magisk, but phh's su works on gsis. and yes i can flash zips in twrp

What twrp u use and is it decrypting phone properly
i used the twrp that spaceminer provided, followed that tutorial, can possible attach a copy and refer you to the tutorial. also used the dtbo that was provided also.

I tried all three variants of this build since they weren't labelled for which variant of the phone (mine's the C636 variant). When I tried to apply the update via the memory card all three times I got "No file found" even though UPDATE.APP file was in the root of the memory card where it should be.
I also installed a VPN, set region to UK in the Huawei Support app and in the VPN software and then tried the update OTA and nothing. Set region to China for both and still nothing.
Of course, the reason I'm doing this is to get EMUI 11 with the July 2021 security patches. My build is over a year out of date. I'd even consider going from EMUI 11 to Harmony OS but again I can't get off the July 2020 build currently installed.
I've tried going with other, newer Android phones, many of them the very best available. I've gone through:
- Samsung Galaxy Note 20
- Samsung Galaxy Ultra S21
- Oppo Find X3 Pro
- Xiaomi Black Shark 3 Pro
- Lenovo Legend
- LG V60 dual-screen
Despite liking some of these NONE of them give you the screen real estate that the Mate 20X does so I wind up dusting it off, updating all the apps and using it once again!
Can someone please help me figure out how to update the software on this beast??

Black Shark 3 does have the same screen real estate, with higher resolution and the 90 Hertz refresh rate, but it's SO HEAVY.

I also have the mate 20x and I've tried everything to update this. I changed the regions and I used the VPN and I tried rolling back to Android 9 via hi suite..... nothing. Someone recommended I spend 15 bucks on a Chinese SIM card from Amazon and that's exactly what I intend to do tomorrow.
Please let me know if you're able to update your phone! I just replaced the battery with a brand new one and spent way too much money on the Huawei branded storage media... I tried a bunch of different phones but I really want to keep this one!
I find it amazing but even phones with side-mounted fingerprint readers don't allow you to do the swipe option for notifications the way Huawei lets you do it. I like my infrared blaster, too. Sigh.
