Frustrating Bootloop Issue - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys
I have an Lg g3 device unrooted for almost 30 months. Last night when the phone was sitting on the couch, I saw the LG logo and i thought the phone did one of the random surprise. Anyway it didn't load the OS for almost 15 mins. I hard resetted the phone, i deleted everything and restarted. Then i had Android is starting and Applications are optimizing. I got the Setting section. boom phone restarted again and bootloop again. I took it to download mode, i had a clean installation with the recent official KDZ. and again optimizing, then boom again. The phone only passes the loading phase if i hard reset it or just flash the original KDZ . I select the language. Network option. Restarts. I tried 3 batteries. No luck. All batteries are working on other phones.
Any idea how i can fix it? I dont mind rooting the device. I need the device for 2 weeks. then i would be upgrading to another phone. I am going nutz. Please help!

Marshmallow Update followed by Bootloop [EUR]

I just got the official update to Marshmallow and I decided to just do it since it is official. It downloaded and then installed. Then it rebooted and showed that "apps are being optimized" screen and after that a bootloop of the lg logo. Rebooting doesnt work only if I take the battery out but afterwards there's still a bootloop. I also didn't do root or anything else to my device. I can not enter download mode or recovery either, but honestly idk if it has worked before.
Can anyone with probably similar experiences help me? Thanks in Advance from Germany

I have exactly the same issue. I have a German-bought LG G3 d855 updating this morning to Marshmallow. It is now caught in exactly the same boot loop. I get the LG logo, for a few minutes (the brightness changes during this time) followed by the "Android is updating..." app optimization screen which optimizes my 44 apps before going back to the logo in a constant cycle. Then my 44 apps get optimized yet again, and on it goes. I can't enter recovery, none of the button combinations has any effect. Phone has no mods, and was working fine before this.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi,
Similar issue here, my phone updated today (also no root, no mods) and for a couple of hours everything worked fine (just some missing apps after the process, but ok), then I went to flight mode and back and then it started with the reboot loops.
The reboots on my phone happen after some seconds in the home screen, so I have time to try to set it in flight mode again, and in some cases, after this it stops rebooting, but in flight mode, with no connections at all.
I'm trying to remove things to avoid doing a factory reset by now, removing cache didn't help...
Is your phone rebooting also after loading the home screen? or it just loops in the LG screen or in the apps update screen?
Hello,
I had the same problem. Just hardware reset the device and the device will continue from optimizing the apps
Instructions on how to hard reset see the video find on youtube "How to Enter into Recovery Mode on LG G3!"

Hi
I managed to recover my phone, BUT I didn't manage to recover my personnal data... I had to reset everything...
My method : with this tool https://www.google.fr/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwi9oJnC66bMAhWHDsAKHY_cBVQQFggdMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D2683691&usg=AFQjCNGG5q9UKA6oKXlahEEOksUo8faGrw&sig2=cTz4bAtdqp4BEut2S4B2GA enter your imei, and download KDZ file, latest directly from LG server.
Then follow this method (in french sorry)

You can try "normal flash" at the first time, but if it doesn't work (for me it doesn't work) you will have to choose "CSE Flash" and it should work. But you will loose your personnal data. So be strong.

Bro Thank You so much ive been searching for solution the last 2 days and you finally saved my life Thank you Man !
i have the same problem....after the stock firmware has been restored, what method is used to get the proper working marshmallow upgrade?
I went from 5.0 to 6.0 using the LG PC Suite.
0 problems, 0 reboots, quick and fast. Did you update through OTA?
yes i did but still boot lop............is it the battery?
so ?
Same problem here, did you find a solution ?
New G3 from LG but back in bootloop after 24h of use.
Thank you.
I got the exact same issue, neither hard reset or flashing firmware works. Is there any other solution or should i start looking for a new phone?
Edit: Somehow it works just fine now lol. Tried flashing it like 3 times and hard reset twice and now after an hour of constant optimizing apps bootlopping i pulled out the battery for like the 100th time and now it works, what the hell. Looks like my G3 will die soon tho haha

lg g3 d855 bootloop

**UPDATE:** so I have managed after many tries to unbrick my phone. So I have unbricked it using kdz method.
No the weird thing is that the phone works fine while in the charger, but when I take the charger off it shuts itself off and starts getting into a bootloop again.
I really don't care any more about my data, I just wanna get my phone normal again.
Any idea what to do?
So I have installed fulmics rom 2 days ago in my phone. At first it seemed great but after couple of hours it started having some problems (when entering the snapchat it just shutdown). It really annoyed me so I decided install a new kernel . I downlaoded xceed kernel and just flashed it and hoped it will succeed.
After that every thing got ****! The device just showed the LG logo and restarted and than showed it again.
I didn't know what to do than I searched a little bit and I connected my device, and using adb sideload transfered cloudy rom(of course I did wipe before flashing it).
After I flashed the room every thing seemed great, it took time and in the setup there was a step where you "restore" you device. (Google service).
I chose the apps I wanted and while it was proccessing it just shut down and again started showing the lg device and restarting it self.
I am really lost, I dont know what to do, I trying ****ing every thing.
Thank you guys.
Same here and still dont know the answer
I'd advice you to read carefully on the rom you want to flash before flashing so you know exactly what to expect. While your phone is busy stuck in bootloop, try connecting it to the charger and let me know what happens.

Can H811 Bootloader Be Re-Locked?

I'm stuck and confused:
Had a Nexus 4 and 5 for years. Decided to upgrade this past November to the LG G4 (T-Mobile H811)
Got it to root without touching the boot loader.
In came MM and then I had issues of repeating the process.
I came across a solution, to unlock my bootloader. So I did it and managed to get my G4 rooted while running stock LG MM (H81120i).
Everything was running well for several months, but then I started to see erratic behavior. It would heat-up in my pocket for no reason. It would not save pictures. Connections via WiFi and LTE were breaking up. All in all, I wasn't happy and I missed the stock Google interface.
So I've decided to install CM13. Had many issues of getting it to work for several days, which included persistent closings of Google Play services (and many others) and not being able to make/receive calls (it would automatically reboot) After several different attempts, I managed to get it all working. Cleared/Wiped everything off my internal drive, installed the "LG-H81120i-Flashable.COMPLETE" and "cm-13.0-201605xx-NIGHTLY-h811" and "open_gapps-arm64-6.0-nano-201605xx", all back to back. And then installed manual everything as needed Gmail, Maps, etc.
Everything worked great for about 2-days, until then next morning my screen locked up. Then the phone rebooted. After the reboot, it lasted for about 10-15 seconds in CM13 and rebooted again manually. Continued to reboot over and over, till it then stopped booting with CM13. I thought that maybe I needed to install the latest CM13 zip file, but found I couldn't get into recovery. The first reboot screen, showing "Bootloader State: Bootloader unlocked? and the LG logo would be in a loop. During that time, I could feel the phone getting hotter and hotter.
Sometimes, the phone would boot up into CM fully and last for 5 to 10 minutes. Then reboot again and stay in the first reboot screen.
I managed to get into TWRP recovery and thought that putting back the stock MRA58K image would help. During the install in recovery, the phone rebooted! I never thought it could do that. Eventually I got the stock LG back-up up and running, but it didn’t help, and same rebooting occurred.
I'm stuck and out of options. I would like to get the phone BACK TO STOCK and then perform an RMA. I’m afraid that with the BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED that my RMA will be denied and I’m stuck with what I have.
So can the H811's bootloader be re-locked?

Since you live in the US your only option is to apply over voltage to the battery terminal and burn the mobo so that it wont even boot up. The exact method is somewhere around here in xda so you should look it up since you have no other choice
Edit: To answer your question: No

If I can't re-lock the bootloader, has anyone had the success of returning their phones under warranty? Through T-Mobile?

Constant bootloop, tried everything, Is the next step the freezer?

Hey guys, as of yesterday my lg g3 d855 started rebooting intermittently which became more and more frequent throughout the day and ended in a bootloop. The phone will occasionally boot but never last for more than 30 mins. The phone was rooted but I had not made any changes or even installed any apps the last few days leading up to the failure.
Heres a list of events:
-Factory reset device.
-Flashed factory firmware using the kdz tool.
-Purchased a new battery.
-Flashed again using the tot method, phone rebooted while flashing -_-
-Used the BoardDiag tool to unbrick phone.
-Repeat last 2 steps for about an hour until I got a flash that didn't reboot.
-Booted in safe mode.
I'm convinced that its a hardware issue and I have no warranty so I'm hoping someone will have a magic fix else its going in the freezer.
Thanks in advance
I think its dead mate. I am having the same issue and haven't found a solution yet. Did you eventually put your phone in the freezer? How did that go?

HELP PLEASE.Is there a way to flash or root AT&T Note 5,stuck in boot loop mode???

HELP PLEASE.Is there a way to flash or root AT&T Note 5,stuck in boot loop mode???
Hi to all
I'm member on XDA for a long time, but I really am a newbie considering rooting, flashing and messing with the phones.
Yesterday ,my At&t Samsung galaxy NOTE 5 restarted by itself and started doing that constantly.Maybe because the memory was almost full so the firmware didn't have enough space to run correctly ,I don't really know.
So I decided to do a FACTORY RESET in order to refresh the phone.I backed all up (it did restart few time while I did that but I managed to finish it).
After I did the factory reset and wiped the cache,I rebooted the phone and that is when the boot loop started.
Once or three times came back and started the phone up to the first settings (I managed to put in my google username e.t.c. but after a minute maybe it freezes and restarted by itself again)
I tried again another factory reset but the boot loop continues.I tried many time to turn it off,it restarted up to INSTALLING UPDATE......then tried to turn it off completely (Volume down+Power+Home button) and somehow I managed to turn it off.
I thought that I can come here and find the instructions on how to FLASH it with ODIN,but I couldn't find the stock firmware for AT&t Note 5.
Then I remembered (and read on internet) that the bootloader on AT&T phones is locked !!!!!
I searched some threads here for at least how to root it ,but I can't find anything clearly.
So I'm asking you for help: IS THERE ANY SAFE WAY THAT I CAN DO FLASH OR ROOT MY AT&T SAMSUNG NOTE 5 (EXPLAINED STEP BY STEP) IN ORDER TO MAKE MY PHONE WORK AGAIN????
I have never before messed with the phone. It has the original stock firmware Android 7.0 Nougat.
And the phone is bought in USA,but I live in EUROPE and have unlocked it ,by buying some code online, few years ago.It was working fine until yesterday.
Thank you in advance guys I hope that someone might help me.
Juno 106
Guys I found here some older version (few months older) of Android 7 for my Note 5 and I managed to do a flash. The flashing went OK I went through settings and after few minutes the phone freezes again and restarts. And then again the same,it works fine for a few minutes, freezes and restarts (I can here the camera working inside sometimes too)...........CAN ANYONE HELP ME REPAIR MY PHONE ,PLEASE ???
Hi again
I don't know why no one is replying to me???
Today I managed to make the settings and power up the phone, restored the back up....the phone is working,BUT the PROBLEM is that it constantly freezes and reboots by itself.Sometimes it works for few minutes and reboots, sometimes it works for 30min and then it reboots, sometimes longer...
What might be the problem? Is it some hardware problem processor ,memory or maybe bad battery? It is older model and I have noticed with Accu Battery that most likely the battery haslowered it's capacity. It drains faster, sometimes when it comes to 15% it drains very fast...
Can anyone help me diagnose the problem?
Thank you in advance

I managed to flash the firmware few times, but the phone keeps freezing after some time and restarts.Sometimes it is stuck in the bootloop, sometimes it starts up to some point, freezes and restarts.
Could it be BAD BATTERY or is it something else?
If it is the battery problem,I will replace it,but I'm afraid that it might be someting else wrong.
What is your opinion?
