AFAIK, You can't manually switch the resolution in EMUI right now.
Are you rooted?

No my phone is not rooted. There is an option in battery subsetting to lower the resolution

That is decided by the system when the battery gets low and at which battery level it kicks in, no one knows.

I get about 1/3 better battery life if I leave the resolution reduction option off. Never get more than 30 minutes screen-on time per 10% battery with it enabled. With it disabled I constantly get 45+ minutes per 10% battery.

Do you take a lot of photos? Have you been leaving the Camera app by hitting the home button? Your camera app seems to be running a lot so use the back button to exit it if you don't already.
Considering you've always got Wifi on I don't think your battery life is that bad.
First screen no, second yes. As Chris said, I think you are leaving the camera on or you might use the flash in the middle of daylight. If you aren't, use the back button instead of home. Also turn off the WiFi when you're not using it. You can also set the screen timeout to 7 seconds or turn the display brightness down or to auto.

My display brightness is always low.
And I guess that Camera360 app had a prob. I removed it and now it does not show up in the Battery Usage. That screenshot was taken a few days ago.
I get around 30 hours of battery life after full charging.
Is this normal for HTC Wildfire CM 7.1.0.1?
Thanks a lot for your replies

18 Max just a rough guess and that's with all sync and background turned off, never use GPS or wifi either really, just that my phone is kind of glued to my hand lol and is always on looking on xda for the next mod/new app or messing with my screens to try and find a setup i might keep for longer than a day ha ha.I actually carry my charger round with me lol.

I set mine to 50-75% when I'm indoors, when I'm in the sun I have to bump it up to 100%. I don't notice much battery drain from normal usage, only with games and video, they normally drain batteries really fast. I don't play any games only some YouTube or videos I took.

If you go to settings then power saving, you will see custom power saving settings you can then adjust how to same battery including the option for brightness.
I always keep mine at full brightness and I've gotten killer battery life. My phone averages 3-4 hours screen on time. Of course I can make that stretch 5 hours or one whole day. Depends on how much you use your phone of course.

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Samsung Galaxy S8+ before depleting the battery.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

Amazing battery life on the s8+
Battery life has been a bit inconsistent. Usually I get around 4 or 5 hours screen on time, though honestly my habit with all my phone Shas been to charge them whenever possible. If I'm driving, I set it on the mount and plug it in. If I'm at home or work and not using it, I plug it in (or in this case set it on the wireless charger). But I was fairly unimpressed with the S8+ battery life.
Yesterday and today, I turned on the medium battery power setting. It seems to have increased my screen on time dramatically, but I'm also at home and on wifi.
Medium decreases screen brightness by 10%, sets resolution to FHD+, underclocks by 30%, and turns off the AOD. Of these, the only thing I miss is the AOD, but it also seems to make the most difference in battery life.
Either way, my battery life today is much better. So far I've had almost five and a half hours of screen on time and 54% battery remaining. That's all surfing the internet, posting here, texting my wife, taking a few photos, and a little Facebook. I'd say that is fairly impressive.
I'll see how the battery holds out Monday when I'm away from wifi, driving through varying cell tower coverage areas. I'll also check how it is if I turn the AOD back on. I do like the AOD.
Really good for a stock rom
Bat Rom & Noto.
Could of got to 10hrs but was playing with themes which require reboots.

Do you notice any decreases in performances with the underclocking? Or are things still fairly snappy?

I don't notice any performance issues at all with it underclocked. But I don't do any gaming either, so that may be an issue for others.

It doesn't use much battery compared to Adaptive Brightness off unless you keep your screen at something low like 10% or less the whole time.

I've always, even with previous phones, used manual brightness. Partly because I am usually happy with brightness to be kept at, for this device, at 15% and if I need to adjust Ill use Brightness Control. I also feel that battery life must surely be better as the sensor isn't constantly being used to gauge how bright the screen should be and lastly always found autobrightness to increase/decrease the screen brightness randomly, e.g. Say in my living room and it'll just increase/decrease slightly.
So ultimately I'm very happy just to manually adjust

Mine is set to.20% with auto brightness enabled. At most times it hovers very close to 20%. I guess if i disabled auto brightness i will get better battery life. At the moment i average 7 hrs SOT.
So what do you achieve in terms of SOT at 15% brightness

I get around 5 hrs of screen on time on th lte varient (exynous)(fhd+ 60hz)(no always on screen) i think it should get more with the 4000 mah battery , also there is some standby drain , i checked and turned off couple of google services as well as stopped some background processes from facebook , hope to see an update to fix the issues
Managed to reach 6:30 SOT on G980F 4G variant. Using 120 Hz refresh rate SOT is lower
A bit over 5hrs with NFC, Bluetooth and always on display (120hz)
I got 6:40 with 30% left at 120hz... I will post screen shots and details tomorrow

Off top of my head, turned off 5g, no AOD, dark theme (obviously), system tracing off, location off. I tried with both adaptive performance on/off (seemingly same result). I believe this is everything, I removed a few apps from Samsung.

It seems you have the 5G variant with Snapdragon 865, you idle drain is very less. Exynos variants normally suffers a lot from the idle drain.
1st charge cycle on my exynos s20 got me 4.30 hours of screen on time.with always on display off rest everything on.
After doing some adjustments...
Turn off 5G network (SF is not 5G ready)
Set to 60hz, fhd display
Turned off adaptive brightness
Improved SOT
6 hrs and 45 mins
17 hours total battery life
Sent from my SM-G981U using Tapatalk
Another update:
Keeping the same setting except going for 120hz display.
SoT - 7 hrs and 6 mins
Total battery life - 13 hours
I might keep this setting going forward.

Download a battery monitor and post some screenshots and we can help figure out what's causing the drain
Why doesn't Samsung have SoT included in their own in-house Battery monitor? Coming from OnePlus 7 and Pixel 3. Can't recall the last phone that didn't include SoT since last full charge.

No, it originated from some clitbait titles if I remember correctly?.
However, I do not restore apps and their settings(restoring other stuff should be just fine) as they do not run properly sometimes that way.
