Viewing emails from Galaxy S7 on Audi MMI screen - Connected Car

Hi, thanks for reading this.
I’d like to know more about the stock email app that is pre-installed on my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (a light orange envelope icon called "Email").
This is in relation to viewing emails on the MMI screen (Multi Media Interface) in my car (an Audi S3). Audi are well known for the technology that comes in their vehicles. If you connect a mobile phone via Bluetooth you can view emails and text messages on the screen on the dashboard. I’ve paired my Galaxy S7 Edge to the vehicle and can see my text messages and my emails on the screen on the dash. So far so good.
THE ISSUE
I can only view emails for one email account on my car screen but I have several email accounts configured on my phone in the same email app. E.g. I have a Hotmail account, GMail account, IMAP account and an Exchange account all configured in the stock email app.
I’ve figured out why this is happening, I just need a solution. The problem is the stock email app on my Samsung S7 Edge forces you to make one of the email accounts a "default”. My Audi S3 car interface is only showing emails for the default email account.
Before my Galaxy S7 I had a HTC One M9. When I connected that to my car I could view emails for all of the accounts configured in the stock HTC email app on the screen in my car. E.g. in date order my car screen would show a few hot mail emails then some Gmail emails then a few IMAP emails etc.
WHAT I'VE TRIED
I thought installing a different email app (client) on my Galaxy S7 might work. I installed BlueMail and added my email accounts. The BlueMail app has a unified mode that shows all emails from all accounts in date order. This is what I'm trying to achieve on my car screen. BlueMail doesn’t force you to set a default account so I was hopeful this might work. One of the issues I knew I would face was getting rid of the stock Samsung Email app on my Galaxy S7. You can’t uninstall the default email app and you can’t disable it either. I therefore deleted all my email accounts from it, switched notifications off etc. etc. On the Galaxy S7 you can specify a default SMS app and a default browser but you can’t specify a default email app. To overcome this I installed an app called "Default app manager". When I ran it there was no default email program so I set BlueMail as the default.
I went to my car, completely un-paired then re-paired my phone. There was no emails at all on the screen in my car. Just my text messages. The reason for this must be because my vehicle is looking for the stock email app which doesn’t have any email accounts configured.
As soon as I re added my Gmail account to the stock Samsung email app, switched Bluetooth off then back on again my Gmail emails appeared on the Audi MMI.
rSAP
For phones to connect to modern cars they need to have rSAP (Remote SIM Access Profile). The Samsung Galaxy S7 has rSAP. I’ve read that Audi car phones query rSAP profiles by full service id class list and / or profile descriptor list.
This is where I need help. Mobile phone manufacturers obviously have a way of specifying what the default email app and SMS app are on their phones which means my vehicle is looking for these manufacturer-specified default apps as part of the pairing process.
I was confident that if I could instruct my car that a different email app was the default app I would be able to view emails from multiple accounts on my car screen.
I’ve trawled Audi forums and other car forums for days looking for a solution. I’ve seen posts from BMW drivers who use Samsung Galaxy phones who report the same issue. They have several email accounts configured in the same email app on their Galaxy phone but can only view emails for a single account on their car screen. They also say the email account they see is whatever the default email account is within the stock email app.
Someone suggested instead of using the car forums I should try an Android forum so here I am.
Are there any Samsung Galaxy phone users who can view emails on their car screen for multiple email accounts? Like I say, this wasn’t a problem with my HTC One M9 so it’s got to be a Samsung Galaxy email app issue.
Thanks for reading this post : -)

Missing Inbox on TouchFlo

I just got my new TouchPro 2 on Verizon today and I installed wireless sync to have my emails from work pushed to my phone (used this on my XV6800). The Outlook email was created correctly and I can access my inbox if I go to all accounts but I can't find out how to add a link to the inbox on the email tab in TouchFlo. The email tab will show that I have new emails but I need to go to the Windows Mobile accounts screen to get to it.
Is there any way to add this account to the email tab in TouchFlo?
You are not alone. Same problem here. Looking for the answer.
Do get the number of messages, but no access to them in TouchFlo?
Yes it will display the number of messages but there is no easy way to display them through the email tab. I have been clicking the inbox link in the notification message that I get when a new wireless sync message comes through. It works but it would be nice to be able to view the messages downloaded through wireless sync in the same way as my gmail account.
Ha. It took me 2 days to figure out why I had 1 message showing on that tab (damn "welcome" email in outlook inbox). I suppose that the whole email tab is of no use to you then, if you use outlook. Maybe a plugin for the home tab is possible?
Same issue
I am also having the issue of the Outlook email not showing on the TouchFlo email tab. I have looked everywhere to try and find where the configuration for this tab is stored, but no luck.
I did have it showing previously when ActiveSync was configured to sync with Outlook (in addition to Wireless Sync), but if I did not disable ActiveSync completely when connected to my computer it created duplicates, and kept creating them for as long as it was connected...Big mess. When I disabled syncing with the inbox on ActiveSync, it deleted all of my email (on the device, then wireless sync deleted everything in Outlook as well), and the Outlook email no longer showed in the TouchFlo email tab.
I am thinking that setting up a bogus ActiveSync partnership with a computer that has nothing in Outlook (and selecting the Inbox) might be a workaround, but it should not be this difficult.
NOTE: I tried removing everything and setting up a bogus partnership through ActiveSync, still did not put the Outlook email back in the TouchFlo Email tab. Just have to use Start > Messaging until someone figures this one out. Would be nice to have it working correctly.
Same issue here. I added second email account, not in wireless sync, but in the email setup, a POP3 account. Now the little envelope goes to that account and then on the bottom you can see the inbox and navigate to the outlook inbox which is your wireless sync. It gets you there with a couple of extra steps, but it isn't the same.
Additionally, you can't see your email for a particular contact, in your wireless sync email. That is a huge benefit of the HTC Touch Pro 2, in that it integrates emails, SMS messages, phone calls, facebook, all through the contacts. Hope someone finds a work around, this is very irritating. Love the phone, but without this, not sure if I will return it within the 30 days.
I'm having the same problem, does anybody have a solution for this?
Thanks!
Same problem
I've got the same issue. Anyone ever find a solution for this that doesn't involve a hard reset?

Email app only downloading old messages?

I have set up my email account with the Samsung built-in email app, but it seems to only download old messages. Right now I'm seeing emails from 2006. Is there any way to make it download the newest messages on the server, instead of the oldest ones? As it is now, it is totally useless.
On a related issue, if I want to use the built-in email app with my Gmail account (I would rather use a single email program for both Gmail and my work email without having to switch between apps), is there any way to get the "recent:" functionality working? When I try to set my username with recent: before my email address, as Gmail has you do to only get the last month of email, the Samsung mail app says my login is wrong.
Both of these worked fine with the HTC mail app on my old Hero, so I'm kind of surprised if Samsung's mail app can't do it.

What type of email do ypu have?
I've only tried it connecting to Gmail, with the Gmail POP3/SMTP servers. I know that Google encourages us to use the Gmail app for that, but it seems so strange that Samsung can't get their mail app to work properly with Gmail.
I've been using K-9 mail for the last few weeks, but it seems to have its own problems, but unlike the Samsung app it actually works reasonably well enough. Unfortunately I have yet to find a mail client that works as well as HTC's, though. Maybe I just need to learn how to program this thing and fix K-9 myself.

[Q] Multiple Exchange Accounts - how to change outbound account on a single message

I have a bone stock GSM Galaxy Nexus (and am a recent iOS convert). I have two Exchange accounts setup in the email client (not the gmail client). For sake of argument, they are "email1" and "email2". My default account is "email1".
My problem is that sometimes I want to send mail from "email2" when sending email via other apps. A typical example is when I'm viewing a picture I just took with the camera and I decide to email it to a friend, but I want the email to come from "email2". How do I use (or re-configure) the email client to let me choose the outbound (from) email address?
I'd like to know too...

Help setting email properly (iPhone user/Android noob here) using K9 mail

OK. I need some help PLEASE. I'm trying to migrate to a GS3 from an iPhone 4. My GS3 is stock, t-mobile, and no mods, just downloaded some apps.
OK: I have GMAIL, the "EMAIL" app that was stock, and I added K9 mail. All 3 are configured with my 2 email accounts I use. I have disabled notifications on Gmail and Email, and let notifications on in K9 because K9 was the only one I was able to get to format the emails FIT TO SCREEN - the other 2 wanted me to scroll left and right which seemed really strange to me, and I am use to the way iPhone handles email, which does always fit width to screen... and K9 did that so I liked it the best because of that.
Apparently it CONTINUOUSLY connects thru whatever network/data connection you have (wifi/mobile) and EATS battery and bandwidth. I had to set sync to never to stop it. Now of course, I'm not being notified of emails arriving at my box(es).
Obviously I'm doing something wrong? My goal is to have this phone sync contacts with my gmail account (like my iphone did with google-sync-exchange).. and get instant email notifications pushed to my device (like my iphone did).
WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

[Q] Bluetooth MAP breaks with Exchange E-mail

I have a 2013 Honda Civic Hybrid and found out it supports sending and receiving text messages. I believe this is by supporting the MAP profile. I learned that the stock ROM I had for my Verizon Galaxy Nexus didn't support it, but CyanogenMod 10 did. I went ahead and moved to that ROM and confirmed that I could send and receive text messages after. I then started reconfiguring my phone.
I found that with the email app configured to use my work's exchange account (along with all the security that went into it), the text message support stopped working.
I next reset my phone and used a hack to prevent the device admin security settings from being applied. This allowed the encryption and pin requirements to not be enforced, but the text messaging still doesn't work in my car.
At this point I can either have my exchange e-mail or in-car text messaging working at any time. I saw one post noting a 'Sync SMS' option in the email app, but my settings does not have that option.
Is there a way to get both working at the same time?
Thanks,
Rob
