Good evening,
I have tried to root my smartphone Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) DUOS SM-J530F with a guide.
I installed the last version of the software. My smartphone is encrypted with my password. I have unlocked the OEM lock and USB debug ticked.
I installed ODIN v. 3.12. from this site , the drivers for Samsung USB and the Super SU zip files . Also I download Team Win Recovery Project version 3.1.1-0.
I launched Odin with my device connected via an USB cable. I followed the instructions and the recovery with ODIN show it was successful. But when i tried to use the Super SU's zip it didn't work. Now when i launched my phone it show the page TWRP and lines of code are shown for a very little instant (about 3 seconds) :
Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto folders
Failed to mount /data ('Invalid arguments')
Unable to recreate /data/media folders
Updating partition details ...
Failed to mount /data ('Invalid arguments')
... done
Unable to mount storage
Failed to mount /data ('Invalid arguments')
Full SElinux support is present
Cryptkeeper.showfactoryreset corrupt() = 4
Unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps
Running recovery commands
Failed to mount /data ('Invalid arguments')
Formating cache using ext4fs ...
Done processing script files
Failed to mount /data ('Invalid arguments')
Failed to mount /data ('Invalid arguments')
Then it launched Samsung and it ask my password . I put it in and he ask to reset my phone. I "clicked" on reset but it reboot TWRP and it is the same thing again.
Also the Odin screen show :
ODIN MODE
Download speed : FAST
PRODUCT NAME : SM-J530F
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS : Custom
FAP LOCK : OFF
OEM LOCK : OFF
Secure Download Enabled
WARRANTY VOID : 1 (0*030c)
RP SWREV : B:1 K:0 S:0
I'm sorry I didn't understand what I have done. I'm not a developer but I admire their work.
Could explain what I have done and help me to find a solution please.
I would be very thankful for your help.
I'm very sorry for my very bad English.
Goodbye

Experts,
My Samsung Galaxy Grand I9082L is having trouble booting, while using internet it suddenly restarted, then it is not booting (only showing the initial Samsung grand model number). Has any virus attacked bricked my internal storage?
I tried the custom official rom flashing through odin, but it is not working. Kindly help. I think the internal storage has been bricked because i am getting errors like below when i try the recovery mode.
E : failed to mount /data (No such file or directory)
E : failed to mount /system (No such file or directory)
E : failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory)

E : failed to mount /cache (No such file or directory),
Twice I flashed my mobile using the official fimware through ODIN, install was a PASS, but still getting the same error and not booting.
Do I need to re-partition? Is my internal storage bricked or damaged? In odin I can see 4 options (PDA, phone, CSC, modem etc) after re-partition, do i need to find files for all options and flash? Please let me know how i can re-install the OS, (hardware is fine i think.)
Please help!!!

Hi,
Nice to be here after so much years of reading !
My LG G3s (d722) was fine with Cyanogenmod 13 and encryption enabled. I've made a Titanium backup for my apps (& cie...) on the SD card, and reboot in TWRP 3.0.2-0, enter my password to mount storage, and I've wiped all partitions exept the SD card.
Then I've flashed the CM14 zip file, and get these error in the process :
"could not detect filesystem for /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/userdata, assuming ext4 mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/userdata at /data: Unkown error 200 unmount of /data failed; no such volume"
"Failed to mount '/data' (No such device)"
Since then :
- if I reboot into recovery, TWRP doesn't ask me the password to decryp the partition
- if I reboot in CyanogenMod ask me the password, but the tells me :
Decryption unsuccessful
The password you entered is correct but unfortunately your data is corrupt.
To resume using your phone, you need to perform a factory reset. When you set up your phone after the reset, you'll have an opportunity to restore any data that was backed up to your Google Account. Then it reboot into TWRP
Any ideas ?
How could I mount ext4 partition in TWRP ? Or restore stock recovery ?
Thanks a lot for your advices
resolving !
Hi myself and everyone from another time,
I've resolved this mess by :
- installing LG drivers
- downloading kitkat stock-rom D72210d_00.kdz
- open LG Flash Tool 2014 and load D72210d_00.kdz, and start a CSE Flash
Then stard android 4, root it... etc
Best

Hi everyone
I have some questions about Samsung SM-A720F
here is Samsung SM-A720F which has frp lock ! (FRP = On)
I know how to solve this problem, but it has another problem that doesn't let the device to become Ok.
First, the "System Status = Custom" in Downloading Mode , which usually flashing device with Official Firmware it should be changed to "Official
it's wired !!! I've tried 10 different Firmwares with correct binary (the phone's binary is 3 and firmware's binary is also 3)
but it doesn't changed to "Official" ( still System Status = custom :| )
note : i also tried combination files on this phone !
Second , after device flashing , it's just rebooted to recovery mode and shows the below error messages :
- E:failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument)
- E:failed to clear BCB message: failed to find /misc partition
- dm-verity verification failed...
As i know flashing the custom recovery on phone and adb commands solved my problem ! but frp lock is on and i can't flash the custom recovery !!!
note : phone not booted after flashing !
Does anyone know how to deal with this ?!
same problem
My phone also same problem
1) i try to solve from twrp but any rom flashing time - E:failed to mount /efs (Invalid argument)
2) i flash from odin its showing pass but till now mobile booting not complet.
3) i tryied from smart switch also s/n not correct.
please help me before i was used hadesh rom.

I have an S7 (Korea model, bought on EBay a year ago) which no longer boots after the latest OTA update - it freezes on the SK Telecom splash screen after the Samsung logo.
I started out hoping to restore data, but now I am just hopeful I can get a working phone again, but it doesn't seem likely from what I have read, as it appears my EFS is corrupt, and I have FRP lock enabled which prevents me from installing TWRP or other tools.
Here are the things I have tried:
1. Used Odin to flash the latest official firmware (SKC-G930SKSU3ETJ1-20201105091200) (BL, AP, CP HOME_CSC)
2. Wiped flash from Recovery
3. Wiped data/factory reset from Recovery
4. Tried to load TWRP via Odin, but blocked by FRP
5. Tried to use adb sideload twrp... from a PC but also blocked by FRP
I can get into recovery, but get the E:failed to mount /efs (invalid argument) error
I can get into download mode with:
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G930S
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
FRP LOCK: ON
Secure Download: Enabled
WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0x0500)
AP SWREV: B:3 K:2 S:2
I didn't root this phone myself, but believe it was done by the eBay seller I got it from. The recovery screen appears to be original, so I'm not sure why I get a SYSTEM STATUS: Custom on the download screen, as I have original Samsung firmware.

Is there a way out of this, or do I have a bricked phone?
Looks like it's bricked, so I guess I'll offer it for parts on eBay. Got her a new A11, not as nice as the S7 in some ways, but at least it's covered with a 2 year protection plan...
