Stock Android 4.4 KitKat Launcher & Google Apps Extracted

NOTE
1 Just install the apks as a normal app unless you wanna push it to /system/app and make it a system app.
2 It should work for all the devices with Android 4.2 or above.
3 Anyway, if you are on Android 4.1 or below, you may still give it a try if there is no 'error parsing package' occurred.
4 The fix has to be extracted to replace the previous lib under system/lib, do not flash it.
5 If you are pushing the apks to /system/app or replacing the lib, ensure that the permission is set to rw-r--r-- to avoid FC.
Stock Android 4.4 KitKat Launcher --- Here’s what you’ll need to install:
1 PreBuiltGmsCore (Google Play Services 4.0) Download [Mirror]
2 Velvet (Google Search) Download [Mirror]
3 GoogleHome (Google Launcher) Download [Mirror]
UPDATE 1: Google Search Force Close fix:
Long press the home screen, select Settings. Select Voice. Select Language to change the default. Change to another language, for me I choose English – UK. Hit Home. Do a Google Search. Repeat the first three steps. Change back to English – US. (you may have to redo this step every time you restart --- if you experienced FC --- for non-rooted users)
OR
Please extract and replace the /system/lib/libgoogle_recognizer_jni.so with the one downloaded from THIS or THIS LINK. (permanent fix --- for rooted users)
UPDATE 2: "Ok, Google" search feature fix:
If anyone has a problem with the "Ok, Google" search feature, you have to get the English (US) language update. Under "Language and Input" --- "Voice Search"/ "Google Now Settings" --- "Voice", tap "Offline Speech Recognition" --- "All" and tap "English (US)" to update. After it is done, press home and it should be working! If you've cleared data on the app, it'll erase the update and you'll need to do this again.

Contact and dialer are not added because they did not work while calculator and map are not added due to parsing error~The apps may not fit every screen perfectly due to different screen resolution

If you're getting an install prompt instead of the update one, chances are this APK will refuse to install. This happens because this package's pname is com.android.deskclock, and yours is probably com.google.android.clock, so it's not installing as an update but rather as a separate app, and then failing because the same provider name has already been declared. The only way around this would be to freeze/uninstall the stock clock, as far as I can tell, which requires root. You may need to clear data for the Clock app after installation - otherwise it may FC on start.

Thanks for providing an alternative link for Hangouts 2 when it was not working. Regarding your issue, I think it simply means 'error parsing package'. It can be either the file is corrupted (redownload will help) or it does not support your operating system.

Remove Chinese in Apps

Anybody knows, how can we remove chinese words in apps like phone dialer, U Health, GT Browser?
Can we find all apps in english?
Can we use Z1 international apps in our device?

You can delete most of them and replace with Play Store apps.

I deleted the browser and replaced with Chrome. The dialer is fine with me.

For me the ultimate solution would be either installing a custom Rom or if/when Lenovo release a global Stock Rom.

Problem solved. It's a modified version of the system, these apps have been removed and when installing them manually they didn't work.
You can install the original ROM, without having to root or anything, just google for '[HOWTO] Flash a Stock ZUI ROM (ZUK Z2 Pro Z2121 only!)', should be the first result.
make sure to use method 2, method 1 won't work, put the downloaded files in folders with short names on C:\ and don't use space or any symbols in the folder names. Also download the files from the link of the second method, not the first one, the password for the archive is
club.lenovo.com.cn

The system will be in chinese, with english available (for english language go to settings, then the option with the cog symbol, then second option, then first option), the translation for other languages were horrible anyway. You will have the newest version of the software with all the app, including U-Health etc. You will also be able to get future updates on the phone itself, which isn't possible with the 'international ROM'. Also stuff like permission manager will work, but you have to install the google apps yourself, which is very easy after googling for a tutorial.

When I try to check if there is a new upgrade a message appears in my mobile.
The message said: Your mobile has been root, isn't available upgrade.
Do you know if the mobile is rooted when you do the flashing with the method that you posted.

I don't get that message, for me it just says 'No Update available' and Rootchecker also says, that I don't have root access.
Maybe the shop you bought it from rooted it? You could try unrooting it.
Also when you want to update with the System Update app, you need to be connected to a chinese VPN

If the shop rooted it then it likely has a reseller ROM.

Yes, however the only bugs that I faced is that PixelMaster Camera doesnt work, but no problems with Google Camera.

1: revert all changes first .
2: download google app and make it system app ( or you can flash nano gapps ) set ur preference.
3: edit build prop . just add the below lines

In light of recent events, Google has now removed the restriction, that a device needs to be Pixel to use Google Assistant.
So you can essentially skip the steps for changing Device Model and Brand.
Now just append(add to the end) the following line to the end of build.prop :-

after doing this Reboot you phone. Profit !!

Nano Variant of Gapps automatically flashes Google app as a System app, whereas lower variants dont.
If you are going to flash a lower sized variant, u have to make Google as a System app.

[Root] How to make ARCore work on Vince

!!ATTENTION!!
As Google recently changed how the device_profile files are located, these steps below do NOT work anymore. There are only two options you can choose from which you can follow and read about here

Installation steps:
1. Install original arcore linked below
2. Reboot to TWRP
3. Install twrp-Patch-ARcore-for-all-device.zip
4. Reboot to system
Zip download here. This method is still under testing, so the original method is still shown below.
Step 1. Download ARCore from here https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...se/arcore-1-4-180716096-android-apk-download/
Step 2. Install an app that use ARCore. If you're lazy, you can use this https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-creative-lab/just-a-line-draw-anywhere-with-ar/
Step 3. Open the app you installed in step 2 and let it crash. This will make the folders and files that we're going to use later on.
Step 4. Download the file named device_profile_vince.textproto.txt at the end of this post and rename the file to device_profile_vince.textproto
Step 5. Using root explorer, copy the file you just renamed to /data/data/com.google.ar.core/files/device_profile_database2 and change SE context by selecting the file you just copied and press the three dots. Then select Restore default context and then press OK.
Step 6. Now you can use any apps that require ARCore!:victory:
NOTE: If you updated ARCore repeat step 3 to step 5
Tested on my vince running AEX and havoc os with omnivision sensor

Not really necessary anymore as we've Arnova8G2's flashable zip but I'll keep it here anyways
During the steps above, you probably saw a bunch of files in /data/data/com.google.ar.core/files/device_profile_database. One file is for one device or another variant of the same device. These files come from the manufacturers or Google themselves for the devices that officially ARCore.
Unfortunately, vince, like a lot of other devices, don't officially support ARCore, so some of these files maybe more compatible with vince but I don't have time to test them all. So if anybody have extra time, you can help me find out which one of these files is best suited for our device. You just have to rename the file you want to test to device_profile_vince_.textproto(the _ is to make sure you don't accidentally replace the original device_profile_vince.textproto file) and rename the original device_profile_vince.textproto to device_profile_vince.textproto.bak
If you believe you've found a file that's better than the one on the OP, then please tag me and post the file name in this thread and I'll test it to see if it's better before adding it to the OP

All apps that use ARCore should work except for ARStickers, which you've to use the one linked in the FAQ. It's the only app so far I tested that needs to be modded to work.

Deer developer tried every step describe by you on miui costum rom wash n dish by Jerome-X but not worked any AR core based software always it is saying that device is not supported check the screen shots.

And yes, the problem can be the Android version also.
Arcore works on few models with Android nougat. If you use a smooth vanilla 8.0 it can works (maybe).

Yes I followed the instructions, and all the app (I tested 3 app) does not work (included the area stickers and yours in the guide).
I did also the last modify with root explorer... But I have the same problem of irfan

I tried also to use the extension .proto instead .textproto, with the first extension the app crash.

Question Twin Apps Not Working

Hi, I can't speak English, so I'm using Google translator. Sorry if there are any wrong words.
My Rog 6 is the tencent version with the Global room, it came with version WW-32.2810.2206.95 since then the Twin Apps never worked, I updated the device to version WW-32.2810.2206.97 and it still didn't get the app. I updated to version WW-32.2810.2207.134 and it still doesn't work.
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Regarding ZenUI's Twin App
Is there a way to add custom apps into it? The app they have that are available for Twin Apps is really limited, I would like to add my own:)

I tried this solution, but I was not successful. I just wish I could duplicate whatsapp...

2.Find out the app package name that you want to add , As the example from the tutorial, they choose "GoShare" as an example, you can check its package name from the website version Google play, the hyperlink after "id=" is its' package name.
For Example "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gogoro.goshare"
"com.gogoro.goshare" is the package name.
3.Edit the downloaded twinapps.xml. Find out this string from the file "<string-array name="twinapps_required_apps">" (for apps)
or <string-array name="twinapps_required_apps_games">(for games). Added <item></item> in the front and after the package name. For example if you want to add "Goshare" in the app list, it should be<item>com.gogoro.goshare</item>. Add it after <item>com.imo.android.imoim|imo free video calls and chat</item>. And Save the file.
4 Connect your phone to your pc and use adb to push the edited twinapps.xml into your phone adb push twinapps.xml /sdcard/.
5 After pushed the xml file to your file, use this command to update the twinapps list
adb shell am startservice -a "asus.intent.action.TWINAPPS_CDN_FILE_UPDATE" -d "file:///sdcard/twinapps.xml" --ei "ACTION" 1 com.asus.twinapps/.TwinAppsService.

Yes, I followed all the steps. I downloaded the file, edited it, passed the cmd to the cell phone and gave the update command. Apparently the update command worked, but still nothing appears in Twin Apps.

It works for me on ROG 3 - I don't have ROG 6 yet, sorry.
Do you have any Apps successfully "Twinned"?
If yes, can you view/ edit the relevant .xml file. Where is it located?

I do not have any. As I showed in the image of my first message. No apps appear available. Yeah, I didn't even want many Apps, just WhatsApp.

hello bro can you teach me how to update rog 6 like you did, because when i wanted to update manually it failed
and i downloaded the firmware from asus
