Hello guys,
My friend was in the US and he bought an unlocked Verizon N8.
The problem is when he changes the phone's language to Arabic, some of the text will change to Arabic while the rest will stay in English(Menus, toggle buttons, and app names) .
I went through all the setting and the developer options and I couldn't find any way to fix it.
- Model number: SM-N950U running 7.1.1 SE 8.5
So is there anyway to fix this problem without rooting and flashing a custom ROM?
Thanks.

I changed mine to Japanese and the settings menus changed correctly.
I'm using a Verizon note 8 with unlocked firmware, not rooted.

Good to hear that.
Any solution for my problem other than rooting and installing a different rom?

Hi,
i was given a S3 on T-Mobile (U.S). i tried to change the language from english to greek but with no luck. Do i need a new rom installed?

Γεια σου Τολη
I dont think you ll find a touchwiz rom for the T999 with greek support, i havent tried one at least.
I m pretty sure cyanogenmod supports greek so you can try that and see.

Broke my S2 so got a Note 2 gt-n7105
It's not on the right network though and I need it sorting PDQ as my Dad is in hospital
I've watched the 'ROOT' video but the link below 404s
I have Oden but would like a working walk through to root and SIM unlock.
Bit frantic here so bear with me.
Thanks

What version Android are you running? Depending on what, you can use an easy way to root your device.

Its the SIM unlock I'm having biggest problems with. Its running 4.1.2 but the method on here *#1973 etc doesn't seem to work. I managed to get it rooted. Put CWM touch on and downgraded the ROM as it said but still can't unlock it.
Thanks.
Did you talk with your current mobile operator? Usually you can get the unlock code from your provider. If not let me know

Ahh now heres the problem
I can't phone them as the phone won't work
catch 22 again.
I can't get 4.1.1 (stock or Cooked) as its all hotfile links and all are dead.
Try first this: (downgrading BTW doesn't help here a quote from CyanogenMod:
CyanogenMod, however, does not "unlock" the device. Most carriers "lock" their handsets to prevent customers from buying a handset and moving to a different carrier. Carriers depend on these "exclusivity" agreements to bolster revenue. For example: if you buy an iPhone in the US, you are stuck with AT&T or Verizon, whichever you bought from. To use the handset on another carrier's network it would be necessary to "unlock" the handset. This is done with a code based on the IMEI of the handset that can be provided by your carrier or firms on the internet that are slightly more reliable than a Nigerian Prince.
Unlocking cannot be done by installing CyanogenMod, or any other firmware for that matter.

Yes I understand that
The instructions to SIM unlock are
Downgrade to 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 and use a *~ code to access the network lock menu. But it seems 'some' 4.1.2 don't give full access to the menu.
4.1.1 does, but I can't find it anywhere , hotfile problem
I'm not trying to SIM unlock with the firmware but trying to find a firmware that allows SIM unlocking though the dev menu.
I should imagine thats what the input code option when it boots does.
Look at this site.

Mmm could I use a 4.1.1 ROM from another country other than UK just to SIM unlock then update to a nice cooked 4.3 after?

Again though no 4.1.1
Forget that, top link is all hotfiles again
Samsung has a "Region-Lock" some custom ROMs remove this lock, so I think you must use a UK version. Else it won't work!
[…] For example, a SIM-free Galaxy Note 3 is purchased in Europe, the first SIM card inserted in the device must be from a carrier that operates in the particular region. It doesn’t matter if the carrier doesn’t operate in the particular country where the device is bought from, it just need to operate in one of the countries in the entire region. […] Those who end up with a region locked device in a different region and can’t use a SIM to deactivate region lock, they can go to a Samsung care center and get it deactivated, it is not known if there are any costs associated with this or if it would have to be proved where the device has been purchased from. Yes I'm think this as well.
Can't find a UK 4.1.1 anywhere now.
What operator do you have? Orange or another?
XDA developer App. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100. Using CyanogenMod 10.2.
The SIM is Tesco/O2
The phone wasn't branded so no idea on that. I'm now waiting the 1 hour to download the UK Vodafone 4.1.2 rom to see if that might help as I have no idea what the one on there now is based on.
You should for the best go to the store and have it unlocked.

Trying to recover through Keis now after the 'accident' Dam these phones
Try with the app Galaxsim Unlock from the play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spocky.galaxsimunlock
I had your same issue on a Note2 from 3 UK: when I went to Italy I wasn't able to use italian SIM cards on it.
The software says 4.1.1 is required but my phone came out with 4.1.2 and it worked fine for me.
I've found a working UK 4.1.1 ROM. Probably that last working one in the world
I'm going to see how I go about downgrading the ROM now. If I put CWM touch on and can I do it through that. I'm not sure if you can downgrade with a higher recovery system.
What would happen if i flashed a firmware which isn't the same as my region, e.g i live in Egypt, what would happen if i flashed the firmware of Europe?

I do not think too much problem would be there as long as same version of phones firmware you are using. However language might be an issue if English is a problem for you.
I still not recommend to do that. However I am using Pakisthan firmware which is superior that Indian firmware. I live in India.

When I had my galaxy s 1 and I was flashing different ROMs some of them caused me to lose imei and the network was not working. I would rather wait for the update or write down your current firmware version and keep a backup om your PC. Be aware you can't downgrade if you flash KK. This comes from a guy who used to have obsessive flashing of custom ROMs disease (or OFCRD)

I am 100% sure samsung won't update my firmware, and English isn't a problem at all.

Edit: actually there is no way to downgrade from a knox firmware which I find very stupid

I have a brand new Verizon Note 4. There is no french language. I wanna try and flash the international samsung firmware on the phone in order to have the french language.
Would it be possible without bricking my phone. or is there any language pack i can download instead.
You can't flash any ROM because the Verizon note 4 bootloader is locked

Many verizon phones have international languages I sometimes send phones to Poland and for example motorola phones do have Polish on there and b unch of others.
It's samsung phones that don't for some reason.
Try morelocale2 but you will need to give permission over adb and remember it won't 100% change the language only some parts.

Yeah already tried morelocale2. As you said its partial. And also you have to do the process every time the phone reboots.

That's weird when I used morelocale2 it would keep the language after reboot. I know when you go into languages you won't see your language but it would stay on there anyway..

Hi everyone (first of all, sorry about my English), I've got some questions about my brand new smartphone:
1. How can I know what ROM my smartphone has?
2. I have problems with a Bank app here in Chile, the app says that my ROM is rooted ? Someone knows how to solve this?
3. Red Magic Moment isn't working anymore.
I hope you can give me a hand, thanks a lot. Goodbye.
